Hello Vickertony

You need not be afraid. Early detection is the key to fighting cancer.

You say you are having pains around your arm. Is there a lump or an unusual swelling? If there is, it doesn't automatically mean you have cancer. The swelling might be a benign growth. You never can tell until you visit a hospital and talk to a qualified and experienced doctor and if possible, an oncologist.

But from the little I can deduce from what you wrote up here, I feel the pain is just in your head..... that is, it's not really there and nothing is actually wrong with you.

Like I said earlier, visit a hospital and talk to a doctor. You don't need to be afraid.

Cheers Bro.

Ah ah nau.... no swelling/lump/growth/lesion, no discolouration? These are the first signs to look out for. The pains you feel there might be as a result of something else.

So,put your mind at rest and go see a doctor as soon as you can and get your arm examined.

Hope this helps?

Wow. It's not often I'm rendered almost speechless.

I started reading this thread this morning, I've just gotten through all 38 pages.

Candy, you're a breath of fresh air, in a country like Nigeria, where the average citizen treats anyone suffering from cancer as a pariah, due to ignorance and denial (even educated persons too!)

You're very brave to bare all on a public forum, and I admire you for this. This thread will go a long way to educating us all, we may not all have cancer, but there's no denying cancer has affected close friends and family, even parents and siblings. My dad had cancer back in the early 1990's, today he is no more. It's possible the signs would have been recognised early, if the Internet and threads like this existed back then. Early detection is key.

Myself and many others on here will be praying for you, I've been following and reading your blog, and will be keeping up with you on your journey to good health.

It'll all be well with you, chin up girl, and stay safe! X
