Should A Working Man Give His Gf A Monthly Allowance? by sexylogan(m): 10:24pm On Jul 11, 2015
Hey everyone.

I'm a medical doctor doing his residency program in one of Nigeria's Teaching Hospitals.

My girlfriend is in her mid twenties and is a second year student at a federal university.

She has never asked me for anything as she is well taken care of by her family.

I send her money every other month or so through her account.

However, I feel compelled to place her on a regular monthly allowance. Two of my closest friends have different opinions about this.
One feels that a gf has no right to enjoy a regular allowance while the other says there is nothing wrong with doing this as he does the same to his gf.

On one hand I don't want her to feel like I'm trying to show off but on the other hand I want to support her in her studies.

What do you guys think?

My dear do what you want to do and don't bother yourself about what other people think, as long as you're comfortable with it and its not stressing you then do it.

But if you ask me I'll say you just continue sending her money whenever you feel like but it shouldn't be regular else she might become always expectant and start to depend on it and when you might not be able to , it'll bring up issues. It'll be silly of her of her to think you're showing off.

if you feel like it you can give her

don't think regular "payments" are necessary

if she were your wife it would be a different story

It's good that you think this way though; it bodes well for the future

U are not her father neither are u her brother or mother..She is just a gf who can dumpa u anyday for anoda man or can even be cheating on u while ur away.Never invest too much on a girl when you arnt married to her yet..so dat incase she messes up it won't hurt u much..since u av too much money 2 throw away why not send dat monthly income to your parents who am sure trained u into becoming a medical doctor Rather than a girl who is not yet a wife..U can be sending her mony but it shldnta at all be on a regular basis..Her family shld take her responsibility till ur ready 2 pay her bride price..Don't be a fool!! E be lyk say woman never do u somtin b4..U have to wise up man..

Seriously! The comments cracked me up grin grin grin

Bia Doc, true true, e be like maga gene dey your blood o grin
I see no reason why you should place her on a payroll.
Give as much as you can when you can. If it comes monthly, and when something goes wrong and you don't meet up to the monthly allowance, you will come and open another thread and ask if bae is possessed!

Monthly allowance? Say wetin happen?
Is she working for you?

Guys are most times, the architect of their own downfall. You give girls the reason to show themselves, and when they start doing it, you'll still be the one to complain.

See... if you have money and you feel you want to give her some, then so be it; and not placing yourself where you're not.

Do you place your mum & dad on monthly allowance? If you don't and you're contemplating placing a girlfriend on an allowance, then you're almost a failure (You're "almost" because you've not done it, you're still contemplating doing it). Your parents gave birth to you and saw you through school. Not your girlfriend.

Wise up, man.

Can you stop the payments for a period of three months & watch her actions/reactions towards you during the period?

There you have your answer.
