Many of these things were finally written down decades after they were first said or experienced. Add to that interpretations and normal human bias, it becomes a wonder there are only these small amount of contradictions.

No, to be honest, there really r contradictions. But our Christianity is not based on following a book or rituals or laws. It is based on following a Person, a Spirit, and having that Spirit alive in us. This is a living, present, tangible Spirit. And in that Spirit there are no contradictions.
