shiizzy: They are not necessarily protesting about the death but the lack of speed breakers or pedestrian overhead bridge opposite the school. That aside, whether 12 or 1, death is death. Innocent live(s) have been cut short. Besides, in the case of OOU, the student were travelling and it did not happen in front of the school gate. 2 Likes |

For your info there was an overhead bridge there before now but was removed because the road was dualised and the students were not making use of it. R.I.P. To d dead |

Lilimax: There used to be an overhead bridge at that spot. Nobody used it. Put one there again, no one will use it (unless its air-conditioned perhaps). I wasnt there, but truth be told, students cross the road as if cars dont kill people. |

GudluckIBB:there used to be one there, but oshiomole in his not so 'infinite wisdom' decided to bring it down.... the students didnt even use it when it was there.. i attended the uniben secondary school and uniben... i can count the number of times on my fingers pedestrians used that bridge... i think speed bumps will be more effective although it is a designated federal express road.... if a pedestrian bridge is built, then the school authorities will have to set up disciplinary measures to ensure students use it...because if the govt builds the bridge for these protesting students,it will just be there like an artifact and rot away.... |
