You can quote Scriptures from here till whenever, i don't care. Go to the beginning of my post to see how i explained everything. ONCE YOU ARE SAVED, YOU CANNOT BE UNSAVED. God's promise of eternal life to us cannot be changed. I wonder why it is very difficult for u people to understand or are you people jealous, angry or what  ? We need God's grace to live above sin because: ...Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? By no means! We are those who have died to sin; how can we live in it any longer?(Rom. 6:1-2). jiggaz: Don't deceive yourself and others. Jesus said many will say on that day Lord, Lord.... Some of those people casted out demons, and did mighty miracles in His name. Unbelievers can't work miracles in Jesus name. Paul also said "the righteous" are scarcely saved. Who are the righteous? Definitely not the unbelievers. Paul also said he "keeps his body under subjection lest after he has preached he himself will be a cast away" God also said " there will be a great apostasy in the end-times, cause many will depart from the faith". Jesus told a particular church in revelations that "they had left Him His first love," and that they should repent or He will to remove their lampstick from it's place. He also said in Revelations of the Lukewarm christians , that He will spew them out of His mouth. There are many more. Study the scriptures and stop being ignorant. Grace is not a license to sin. It's an empowerment to live the godly life. That's why God expects more from us in this new covenant. In the old lustfully looking at a woman wasn't adultery but it is in the new. In the old hatred wasn't murder but it is in the new. Demas was saved, but Paul talked about him that he had gone back to the world. God said "He will never leave us nor forsake us" but that does not mean we can't forsake Him. An2elect2: As for you madam. When Paul said people shouldn't keep the old laws to try and earn righteousnes because it was done away with. He didn't say they shouldn't walk out their salvation. He said "work out your salvation with fear and trembling" that is keeping up with the Spiritual laws God said in Joel He will write in our hearts. The law of Love for God and people. U need to understand that most times the Bible have figurative meaning other than the literal meaning. Do you know dat not all church goers are born again christians? There are people dat go to church but they didn't confess Christ and believe, some people go to church for different reasons. These are the kind of people our Lord Jesus Christ were talking about...... For the records Ananias & Saphira were not Christians, they are church goers..... When someone confesses Christ & believed in Him for Salvation he can never lose that Salvation unless that same person denounces Christ which is rare. Your Salvation is your faith in Christ and u didn't do any work to get it , so all glory goes to God. But when u start saying u have to work to maintain dat Salvation, you are now the one teaching another Gospel and you mocking God that Jesus death wasn't enough. “Working out your salvation” is something totally different from working for your salvation. You might ask, “What’s the difference between working out your salvation and working for your salvation? A lot. Working Out your Salvation is good for every believer.Working for your Salvation is a heresy–a teaching not according to the genuine Christian faith. So let’s consider the difference… Working out your salvation versus working for your salvation We can never work in order to receive Salvation; that’s an offense to God’s grace. God’s Word reveals that we can do nothing to earn His salvation by any good works that we have done. Christ has done it all. On the cross, He said, “It is finished!” No one can add to Christ’s redemptive work for us. He paid the price for our salvation with His precious blood. All we can do now is receive it by faith. In Romans 3:22 and 24 , Paul said, Even the righteousness of God through the faith of Jesus Christ to all those who believe, for there is no distinction…Being justified freely by His grace through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus. Meanwhile, working out your Salvation is all about Christian living & holiness which is very good. But that doesn't determine the security of ur Salvation cos the first time u received your Salvation, the Holy Spirit have sealed you until Rapture. |

My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all, and no one can snatch them out of My Father’s hand.” NOTHING, I MEAN NOTHING IS GOING TO SNATCH US FROM THE HANDS OF THE FATHER & THE SON!!!! WE ARE ETERNALLY SAVED!!!! HALLELUJAH!!!! So you see, man can never understand the ways of God cos He doesn't think like Men. Mind you, i don't encourage believers to live in Sin. I encourage them to live holy & acceptable lives, but what i was trying to let people know is that ONCE YOU ACCEPT CHRIST as your Lord and Personal Saviour, your eternal security is SEALED!!!!! Jeromejnr:1 timothy 4 vs 4 - The Spirit speaks expressly that in the latter times many shall depart from the faith and deviate away from the truth and shall have their conscience seared with hot iron. Peter tells us that They shall even forsake and deny the Lord that brought them and shall bring upon themselves swift destruction. There is in one of the o.p's post that he made mentioned that whatever i might say, he will never agree. Why because his conscience has been hardened by the devil. It is God’s divine life that is eternally ours based on our divine birth. Christians talk about being “born again,” but, according to the Bible, what does that really mean? John 1:12-13 say, “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the authority to become children of God, to those who believe into His name, who were begotten [or born]…of God.” So those who receive Christ by believing into His name are born of God with the life of God to become children of God. You have good bible quotations to back your point on eternal security. Nevertheless, You stand in a position of a teacher and shall be judged likewise, because many underdeveloped Christians will live by your assertions and this could be detrimental to their salvation. You are not teaching the total counsel of God. Truly, genuine born again Christians can not loose their salvation but those who refuses to gain required knowledge, careless of their way of life and disobey the voice of the Holy Spirit will certainly experience hell before entering Heaven on the day of judgment. You may not believe me but a careful study of the scripture will amaze you on this truth. To assist you, please prayerfully study lsaiah 3:16-26; 4:1-6", "Zephaniah 3:7-12", "1Cor 3:10-(15)17", "Rev 2:14-16", "Rev 20:11-15", "Rev 22:14". l have other references in the bible to prove that you must be careful what you teach others. Please do research on the Nicholatian doctrine which is the same as you taught that the Lord hates. The Lord desires you wash your garment while on earth and make it white in the blood of the Lamb of God. You see, you can't loose your salvation, you are eternally saved but be ready to be purged by fire of hell if you do not follow the leading of the Holy Spirit and holy living. Allow the Lord to purge you while you are here on earth and live a humble and sober life. Apostle Paul talks about your work being burn but you will be saved, only as one passing through fire of hell. Have you ever wondered why hell must give up those in it for judgment day if they were already condemned and why is the judgment base on the only law of Christ. Don't live a carnal Christian life but a spiritual one. You have a choice to hold to your doctrine but you have just been told the truth. l understood you absolutely and completely, this was why in my comment l supported your fundamental truth of salvation is by grace and can't be lost. l agreed with you in principle though not in totality. All l'm saying is you must teach the totality of the counsel of God, that Christians can not loose their salvation yet they are still in danger of hell if they live contrary to Divine standard. We are completely saved from second death which is the lake of fire..Rev 20:15 but not from going to hell..Rev 20:13. Therefore we are still required to be obedient to the Holy Spirit and live holy life to escape hell. Hell is not eternal but only Heaven, this is what it means when the bible implies that we are eternally saved for Heaven, if we do not renounce Christ as our Lord and Savior till death..Heb 6:4-7. Teaching this will make them balance Christians because believers will read your post and form their opinions base on your presentation, please l don't want us to be guilty of anyone's blood. I'm not against you or your teaching but you need to teach whole Christian doctrine to avoid producing unturned believers. I pray God will give you wisdom to present your messages in love while instilling complete truth and fear of God in the readers. Shalom. |

I think there is a mighty difference between 'easy believism' and genuine faith in God, the former is heresy. And every child of God should abhor it. Most advocates of eternal insecurity have most of their convictions not from the bible but from the carnal lifestyle of those who only profess Christ without the evidence of a new birth. |

jiggaz: Reading through your posts and those who share same position with you, I see that: 1. You are aware of eternal destinations (heaven or hell) and that salvation is required for to make heaven. 2. You believe that salvation is by grace and not by works. These are fundamental truths of the new testament. However, your understanding of grace as reflected in your posts seem faulty. You need to understand that, while you are not required to "work" to obtain salvation (other than bringing fruit meet for repentance, believe and accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and personal Savior), there is a work IN grace which you need to keep your salvation. Titus 2:11-12 tells us what grace is, what it brings, what it TEACHES US TO DO...note the capitalized. Grace teaches us to deny ungodliness and worldly lust and teaches us to live soberly, righteously and godly in this present world...that is the work IN grace. That is why Apostle James in his epistle put forward that your faith and work (work in grace) go together. You need to ask yourself why are their temptations? Why did Jesus warn about many being deceived in the end times, why did he say if any who after putting his hand into the plough and looks back is not fit for the kingdom. Why are Christians warned to watch and pray? The doctrine of eternal security sounds like this... "I am born again... I am sealed for eternal glory... irrespective of my actions I remain saved...even if I go back to those things Jesus Christ redeemed me from... I will still be saved...once saved always saved". This is very wrong and heretic as it makes the blood of Jesus of non effect... and nullifies the entire new testament. While you claim to support holy living, you should know this doctrine provides safe haven for sin lovers who run from the light of the gospel of truth because they don't want to give up sin and would not want to hear the consequences of their sinfulness. There is nothing wrong in being conscious of the terror of hell fire as it will continually keep you on guard and grateful for salvation. So much has been said already by few well meaning persons in this thread. I sincerely pray you take this into fruitful consideration.
