If you have been to the Nigerian oil wells in Port Harcourt you will know Nigeria is forking rich.
When they wanna sell oil to other countries, they will open a tap & in less than 15 minutes the transaction is complete, the total amount of oil sold to Italy & other buyer countries will amount to 100 trillion naira.
Where are all the money going to ??
Our oil can't finish till Jesus comes.
Why can't the CBN print as many cash the country needs ??
I do cry everyday for my dear beloved country though i don't plan on returning soon unless things are fixed.

which village did u come from: hhaan! For you to suggest that CBN should print more currency so that it can go round shows the kind of secondary school teacher you have for elementary economic class. Don't say what u don't know. With PMB, Nigeria is in safe hand. The tight macro economic policy of the PMB will mop up the excess money in circulation and drain out the bad money in circulation. In the short run, d poor and the rich will suffer while in the long run, the poor of the poor will benefit more.

I dont understand whats wrong with Africa especially Nigeria , we have everything it takes to be the richest in the world yet we are broke

We have the highest number of natural resources
We have oil
We have strong agile youths workforce
We have good soil for farming
We have plenty rivers, sea and ocean
We have diverse cultures and tradition
We have brains
We have intelligent people

Yet we cant use common sense to develop our nation - Switzerland doesnt have a single natural resources yet they are one of the richest in the world.
We keep blaming our government for our woes but the problem isnt solely our government WE ARE ALL THE PROBLEM OF THIS COUNTRY
How?
- You cheat during exams
- You disobey traffic laws
- You cant help your fellow country man
- You pay/collect/encourage bribery
- You cant beat your chest and say you are not corrupt
- You have benefited from corruption
- You know the right thing to do but will never do it
- You are too tribalistic, you will rather watch the nation burn than see another tribe rule
- You are greedy , you want all the money to yourself alone
intelligent!!! Lol. but not enough to know that you have oil till the multi nationals came.

Our greatest problem in Nigeria is the People including the Leaders.

go and google history of multinational companies most of them are older than Almagamation of Nigeria. people create wealth not steal it

South Africa, Turkey, California, Illinois, New Jersey, Algeria all have annual budgets multiple times that of Nigeria.

These are states and countries with far less population.

We could do better if . . .

many of us nigerians are ignorant sha. so they should print as much money abi? If they even try it, the already failing economy will collapse finally. The value of the naira will drop faster than you can say jack Robinson.

Re: Nigeria Is Not A Rich Country - Buhari (Vanguard) by ttmacoy:
Not really. When you consider the population of Nigeria we are not richer than most European countries.

What we have had so far is a few people benefiting from the oil wealth and am exhibiting stupendous wealth. If that oil wealth was evenly distributed it is not as much as you think per person.

Take a look at our GDP which makes up supposedly the biggest in Africa, in per capita terms SA is double Nigeria's GDP per capita.

We have the potential to be rich if we managed out oil wealth properly and more importantly invested it in other sectors like Dubai, Norway etc rather than focusing on oil.

As I say if you look at it, Nigeria has no competitive advantage in any sector on the global stage e.g. we used to export palm oil but ignored it due to oil an now the likes of Indonesia is the biggest palm oil exporter. Same with cocoa etc.

We have no competitive advantage in sciences or technology etc either. Our only competitive advantage seems to be seeking oil at cheaper prices just to bring in revenue.

expertman:
Haaaaaaa what's this man sayin?

In terms of many things we are richer than most european countries.

You politicians and colonels destroy the collective wealth of this great nation.

Non of you is a saint.

You guys need to see what olurin is doing with our money in Abeokuta his entourage is even more than a sitting gov. Own.

I wept for this nation in slow motion.
Re: Nigeria Is Not A Rich Country - Buhari (Vanguard) by ttmacoy: 2:27pm On Aug 11, 2015
You just explained my point very concisely.

Let's compare our so called oil wealth to the likes of Qatar, Dubai, Norway etc and see how rich we really are.

sukkot:
he is correct. nigeria is not a rich country. what you have is the illusion of wealth because it is in the hands of a few. however if the money in the country was evenly distributed amongst all 180 million citizens we will all have less than 1000 dollars each. so thats not rich

Bros abeg where in Portharcourt do they sell the oil just by opening a taphuh Please stop exhibiting ignorance and saying things that has no meaning. Oil is not loaded at an oil well but at a terminal which has metering stations located close to the sea so that the super tankers can load the products. The loading is done at the presence of the IOCs, NNPC, Navy and Customs and each of the organizations involved keep records of what and what was loaded based on the content of the manifest issued to the buyer.
Lol that dude likes to exaggerate a lot, he was the same person claiming to buy 100 guns in New York in the Davido thread.
