opeaceo:the how many people can afford gas cylinder statement is a fallacy. A 12.5kg brand new gas cylinder cost less than most mobile phones in the hands of Nigerians, it is roughly 8k. , moreover they don't have to buy that size, there are other smaller sizes , even 3kg gas cylinders, that can't cost more than 2.5k the problem is more of ignorance, and a culture some people have being averse to change. |
| Re: EDUCATIVE: Dangers of Cooking with Fire wood by timota(m): 10:49pm On Aug 13, 2015 |
UncleSnr:pls help me ask them cos my grand mother used only fire wood for cooking and she lived up to 90 and the gas user barely live up to 70. |

chinchum:they'll refill the gas won't they?? and a 3kg gas cylinder won't last a month for a family of four. |
| Re: EDUCATIVE: Dangers of Cooking with Fire wood by Nobody: 10:58pm On Aug 13, 2015 |

Somebody wants to introduce a new product into the market. |
| Re: EDUCATIVE: Dangers of Cooking with Fire wood by chinchum(m): 11:06pm On Aug 13, 2015 |
opeaceo:I don't get ur point. if it finishes, they can refill na. abi if firewood finish, they no dey buy another one. in fact there is nothing stopping a family from saving up 8,000 to buy a standard 12.5kg gas cylinder, or even 5 to 6k to buy a fairly used one. no excuse please. a cylinder for the family that can last 15years or more. baba, no excuses, I think the problem is more of poverty of good reasoning, such kind of poverty abounds in the educated and well to do minds too. |

AgapeCharis:I think he has truth all over his post bro. mortality rate was also high then, many were attributed to village witches though, but the village ones also had other advantages like not getting stucked in traffic for long inhaling exhaust fumes, not striving too hard to chase money, fame, consequently less worries or high blood pressure, not eating canned foods with dangerous preservatives, not exposed to generator fumes, e.t.c. all in all the net emissions then was low, but if you are living g an urban or semi urban life exposed to modern envt challenges and still stucked with cooking with firewood, na sorry be the person name |

Nonsensical falacy. Our forefathers used firewood and lived long. Who are those bigots spreading these nonsense sef. So kerosene and gas smoke with its numerous chemical contents is now better than firewood smoke abi? Stupid article. |
| Re: EDUCATIVE: Dangers of Cooking with Fire wood by bobkezel(m): 11:40pm On Aug 13, 2015 |
Stupid people trying to promote their company will go to any length to castigate a threat/competitor. Creating false theories with no bases, and exagerating a no issue. Nonsense. Lie upon lies and stupid people like them will belive the nonsense. |

| Re: EDUCATIVE: Dangers of Cooking with Fire wood by MarieSucre(f): 11:44pm On Aug 13, 2015 |
Every log of firewood you see around came from a tree. A tree is a plant with an elongated trunk which supports its branches and leaves. Importance Of Trees • Trees provide oxygen (In one year an acre of mature trees can provide enough oxygen for 18 people.) • Trees refreshes and cools the environment/ streets and city – Through shades and releasing vapour into the air • Trees conserve energy • Trees save water • Trees help prevent water pollution • Trees help prevent soil erosion • Trees shield children from ultra-violet rays • Trees provide food • Trees mark the seasons • Trees provide a canopy and habitat for wildlife • Trees clean the air • Trees provide wood • Trees combat the climate change Every stick of firewood you use represents a felled tree that could have provided all of the above and lots more. But narrowing it back to our discourse, there is already a challenge brewing up as the trees are felled indiscriminately which is a health issue nobody is looking at. GLOBAL WARMING COMES TO MIND. Why does our society have such a lackadaisical attitude towards our environment. This earth is the only home we've got. We are years from having a colony on mars. In my secondary days we had a conservation club. I had so much fun planting little seedlings and learning about our local vegetation; flora and fauna and its advantages. Even though I opted for Food and Nut at the academic level, that club was like my own Agricultural science on an extracurricular level. Sadly, after then that was the last time I encountered a conservation club or its like even at the tertiary level. Our society needs sensitization, a reorientation or our atmosphere will be worse than that of Beijing's in a few years. We already losing our lush rainforests. |
