Thank God you know the road was done during Tinubu's tenure. I also want to believe you know the quality of the job done if you are actually familiar with the road when it was being done. We need to call a spade what it actually is. The biggest cause of the present messy situation of the road is simply lack of maintenance of the drainage s around it. I am not surprised it eventually got to this stage. Must we expect the government to clear drainages for us after constructing roads?. There is no doubt that if the same quality of road was done in a place like calabar, it would last longer than this. Let us be responsible as citizens.

While the people are calling on the Local Government chairman, he's calling on the Governor, Governor is calling on the president, President approves funds to be released from a depleted treasury, Governor receives funds but keeps 50% for himself, hands out rest to chairman, chairman keeps 30% from that to himself, calls area boys to go do the job, area boys embezzle the rest and my people keep plying such death traps. Nothing would be done until one container passes, looses control and it falls over a car, killing a whole family, the media carry the new tirelessly, then Governor starts running down to make more bogus promises, after some weeks and everything dies down, we are back to where we started. You are right about the road being reconstucted during the Tinubu era however, we shouldn't be so quick to blame the state government because if you check carefully, the drains were blcoked by the activities of residents who dump refuse inside the gutters.
I have seen these people do it on a regular basis so I know what I'm saying

This road is in the Itire/Ikate jurisdiction. Gbangbala the former LGA chairman was disappointung. To think he contested for the state Assembly - thank God he lost.
In the last LGA election my in law who was a counselor tried to contest, in preparation I was going round the area documenting roads to be repaired however, almighty Tinubu endorsed the return of all the Chairmen whether they performed or not.
I grew up in surulere and I can't believe we'll still be having these kind of roads. If surulere is like this... Then what is Ejigbo, Isheri, Ikorodu, etc going to look like?

This road, when once it rains or drizzles, everywhere is flooded! The drainage system along lawanson road is zero! Yes that is Surulere, and it's a one straight road,from. Yaba through Ojuelegba through lawanson that connects Ijesha and even the apapa-oshodi expressway! The state government should do something asap please!! Even a part of the Oshodi expressway too, particularly iyana-itire busstop needs urgent attention! Ambode please get to work. Thank you.

The deplorable state of that road can be attributed to poor management of the drains by the people in those environment, that road was constructed by Julius Berger and its so disappointing.

The deplorable state of 90% of Lagos State road calls for International investigation and probing considering the level of both local and foreign debt allegedly used for infrastructural development.

Lagos IGR covers well above 70% of her annual budget, despite that, Lagos rank as one of the most indebted state in Africa, not considering her share of allocation from the federation account.

That road was constructed by Julius Berger in 2002-2003 with the best of materials. The problem is the people living in that area are very dirty. Late in the night they kept on dumping refuse in the drainage, this blocks the flow of water. The water overflows and the result is what we have now. That particular spot in the picture, you can spend upto one hour there.

Actually i don't think thats completely true....If you look at the gutters properly you will see the edge of the gutter is above the level of where the road is supposedly tarred......So basically some water will be collected on the road which increases erosion and breaks down the tar because the optimum flow of water into the gutter is hindered.

These bastards use sub-standard material and less skilled constructors hence construction of very low quality roads in other to line their pockets with gold! I am not a civil engineer, but common sense shows that road construction/drainage was not properly planned.
