Plus234:Belgium, London used,I have been using it for close to 1 year now no problems, the phone is pure original, made in korea and it look new, the secret of computer village is for you to know where vendors are bringing phones out direct from containers that arrived from Europe, those phone vendors normally sit in front of techno show room in the computer village, they sell with receipt and have a permanent selling position. |

Rayhut:I know stories like these happen, but this particular one is questionable. The apparent embellishments in the story make it impossible to believe. |

broxymall:I totally agree with you on this. Exactly what is ruining today's youths and society in general. Competition, competition and competition. Always trying to best each other. Was reading a thread two days ago on NL about phone usage. Some were boasting of not using a phone for more than two months. Find out what you need a phone for. Mails, calls, IM, social media et al. At the end of the day, all is vanity. |

Swegzfreak:See that's the funny thing. You always see the cheated guy as one dumb, brainless guy who doesn't know the workings of the streets. Now, let me quickly say something. It's either you hav never been to Computer Village in Lagos or you've never been there. If you have, you wouldn't open your dirty mouth and call the Op mumu. These guys are Professional Street hustlers. They live their lives to cheat. Computer Village is their hood, and you just innocently walked right in. Hoping atleast you could get a decent phone. I have been a victim too. Once. This January infact. And my Street-knowing elder brother was there with me. Infact he carried out the transaction himself. How it happened, hw the precious Q10 I wanted to buy didn't become mine again, I cannot start explaining. But pls, just shut your mouth if you really have nothing to say. Save it for when it becomes your time to cry foul. And we Nairalander's will all be here to shower our heartfelt condolences |

Mine was at marina after the uba tower. This happened in August 2012. I was lucky because I have heard of them alot. This ugly looking dude approached me and a friend with a clean bold5 also wrapped in a white handkerchief. We negotiated and he agreed for 25k since bold 5 was the most sort after fone then and the average u c@n get it was 45-50k. Well after I paid, he handed me the fone and said I shouldn't open it since police men are around and might arrest me for buying a stolen fone. Yes he told me the fone fell of from the pocket of a banker that's works around the marina axis in a keke napep. I collected the fone and the guy turned back to leave, I pressed d fone tru the handkerchief and I couldn't feel a key press I ran my fingers around it but still, I peeped tru d side and just discovered it was soap.. White bar soap well shaped like that of a bold 5. I sprang and ran after the idiot with my friend, he already entered where those igbo guys sell clothes. But I was quick enough to catch up with him screaming "thief thief thief" The guys selling along d road blocked him, he turned around and handed me my money without argument, I just collected my money and turned to leave, but sylvester my friend had another thing in mind, "gbosa gbosa gbosa" 3 hot slap on the guy before we left. We left him St the mercy of the igbo boys.... |

dfrost:people say i am too stingy coz i am a business man, i cant afford to buy branded Smart phone. i use an old tecno still now, but i still use it for the same functions Smart phone have, i can afford it, but i know my worth. . i wanted to spend 30k on tecno about a year ago, i said what will a phone of such amount profit me? yes people will see you as a big boy,but honestly what do i really gain from it, i spent that 30k just to start a watch biz to where i am today as a student. i warned several of pals then, why not use your money for better use than buy a galaxy that will afford me a laptop and a phone with change. now they are beggin me for recharge card, i SMH vanity upon vanity |

Swegzfreak:Its easier to call people names cos you didn't witness such. How do you expect one to think that a phone he wants to pay for would be swapped with a soap? That's wickedness. That's why most people prefer to get their gadgets in a reputable shop. Thanks for sharing your story, we'll definitely learn from it... |

Eidosky:That is why i said that it is only the greedy people that get scammed by this street guys, somebody is telling you that the phone he is selling to you is stolen good, why can't you tell the person to search the content of the phone and call the person friend or relative to come and pick his friend phone that fell off from his pocket. Many people are scammed because they want to use small money to buy expensive phones, even if the phone is stolen they don't care, they use to approach me but I will tell them where do get that expensive phone you are selling at such a cheap price,if you have stolen it ,go and return it to the owner |

sconp: ![]() my own was my brand new laptop i bought just 3 days earlier. na God o. i was at old Revive Technology shop to buy a nokia phone to use as modem (during those days of freedom browsing). the fool was taking his time to attend to me, doing on thing or the other. my laptop was inside my laptop bag and i put the bag across my neck. after two much hessitation, i turn to leave the place, only to realize that my laptop bag has been zipped down and only the straps was what was still holding my laptop in place. the two guys behind me began to look at the wall beside them as if something intresting was written on it. |

If I were the OP, I'd go for a revenge purchase the next month. This time with 2 Army officers. When I get any seller that asks me to leave the area because of Agbero, I'd know they are in the same scamming group. Then after he gives me the "phone" and stops bike for me the army go hole am sharperly, then ask am to dial number with the soap ... 3 weeks later the call go still dey connect ![]() |

This happened to my younger bro. He came back from school gather money round enter computer village, He didnt tell anyone. He said he wanted to surprise us. I just noticed that he didnt eat lunch and dinner, he was in door throughout that saturday. he was looking as if he was crying in silence with watery kind of eye balls, I asked what is wrong with you. didnt say anything. later at night around 11pm, I asked him again and he confessed. Omo see laughter, We were just laughing why did you tell us Was really funny ![]() I have told him no matter what dont buy on the street, Enter Slot and buy your phone. The most painful was he has entered slot but the money wasnt enough for the phone he wanted to buy, so he has to go to the ATM to complete it, He met those guys on the way. the rest na story. Na so the guy buy akpu come home ![]() |
