Why shoudlnt they be proud? We allowed our expectations of Apple to soar beyond belief, thinking we'd get magical new devices at each Apple event. That is strictly the fault of bloggers, the media, and fans who pore over every rumor, fantasy, wishlist, leak, renders, and fan art. We all know since 2009 that Apple refreshes their mobile hardware every year, with significant upgrades coming once every 2 years. Releasing a brand new flagship every year deteriorates sales and confuses the heck out of peoiple (See Sony and samsung). It's far better to maximize sales until they taper off before releasing a completely new device just in time for when those contracts were up at the end of 2 years. We know the "S" release cycle every year, so maybe we shoiuld lower our expectations.

Apple spends considerably more money on R & D than any other tech outfit. there's a whole slew of advanced prototypes in their labs. So do samsung, Sony etc. But most of these prototypes cannot conceivably be brought to market soon when the technologies are too complex, imperfect, or costly to make commercial sense. Also, what severely limits innovation is battery life: Even the Sony Z5 Premium is 4K UHD only some of the time, reverting back to 1080p in most use cases (see one of my posts above).

The ripping has been mutual. In any case, Apple was first with the whole form factor and multitouch thingy back in 2007 before Android changed tracks from a Blackberry-esque ripoff to an iOS ripoff in 2008, with the G1. Then Apple created a new category (or rejigged an existing one, if you so prefer) with the iPad and then all of a sudden samsung began its Galaxy quest with an endless strings of clones and copies.

Bill Gates began writing software on Mac before he even stol Apple and created Windows. Office had alw had always been more advanced than windows versions.

Also, office 365 has been pretty accessible to all iOS/OS X users even before the iPad Pro. All they did was tune office to work with the Apple Pencil.

I dont know why you think iWork is not used in enterprise environments. It's a productivity suite after all. Compare the reaction when iwork was released for iOS with when office was released for the same platform.

Research, yes. No arguments on that. But we were talking mobile devices. On that field in R and D Apple is quite spendy and innovative. Let's review the innovations, shall we?

Hardware

1. Gorilla glass. Apple helped Corning revive the strengthened glass business.

3. Proximity Sensing
4. Retina display
5. Glass panel on back
6. Pentaband antenna integrated into the frame

9. Touch ID

What then followed were a string of companies, the most visible of which is samsung, that suddenly began copying everything the iphone did and is doing and claim to be original. What were samsung phones like before the iphone? What was android like before iphone?

we can argue about this all day, and i dont even like Apple, but sometimes i get woried when people forget who started this recent mobile trend and accuse Apple of not innovating. every Android manufacturer competes on specs alone, while waiting for apple to release something new so they can all rip it off.

everyone used to make fun of Apple's lack of sdcards, sealed battery etc. Now every OEM is copying these features, even samsung which was more vocal than the rest.

Macbooks are cloned (HP Envy series, Asus zenbooks etc) with everyone going Unibody, Chiclet keyboard, wide glass multitouch touchpad etc.

Oh, and Samsung Pay?! omg, how original. Just copy of Aplle Pay. they even stole the finger enrollment animation from Apple!!

Lol iphone with there new invention of duping people ..what the different between iphone6s and 6 and 6plulse apart from size. Iphone5s does all the function of iphone6 series,if upgraded to the latest I.O.S

I just bought the HTC M8 last year. I'm deciding between using it for next year or buying an iPhone6s.

This will be my first iPhone.
