Image123:OK, look at it this way, you ban these guys that you presume are bad guys and you present the image of a tough President, no amount of pressure will make me readmitted them till investigation concludes that they are not bad guys, and it won't be in a matter of days. Either that or I investigate before banning them!!! Now, it seems he is not firm in his decisions (flippy-flop policies) , or he is aiding and abetting or worse still turning a blind eye to corruption. Either ways there is no positive from this. No real investigation has been done so far, and one of the shippers is blowing hot so we presume the president has erred. It's just terrible. |

TolaOluwatosin:Aint a follower of buhari, but he is the democratically elected president. I see your not matured enough to understand even the simplest things, if you lick his ass or not what difference does it make??, its never gonna unseat him, so instead of stupidly wailing, channel that energy elsewhere, I'm sure it would be beneficial to you. |

mykl01:The ban was UNTIL further notice and it lasted about two months. The President didn't err, crude oil is being stolen daily, even past administration reported this. |

Image123:OK!! If you insist. The initial press statement didn't say Till further Notice,(unless you want to add it or if Lia(r) Mohammed comes to Channelstv tomorrow to add it) but anyway, if I was a President, I would do it a very different way or not do it at all. These people either don’t understand the powers of a President or something / someone is undermining their powers. Either ways Peace... Out. |

The real truth is that it is a Violation of International Treaty on Trade to ban another's country logistics carrier simply because you suspect fraud. Most of the actions of PMB's government have not really taken into cognizance the treaties and agreements signed in the world trade organization. All the goods categorized as no-to-be-funded by Forex will also at one time or the other be funded. I think these lack of knowledge on how international trade works is one of the reasons for hasty actions in hope of bettering the economy. Remember the advanced countries benefit form the over 1.5 billion African consumer market, so if any country does not adhere to these already signed trade agreements, then they are in for sanctions . Time for Nigeria to look at strategic ways of curbing funds control rather than us "bush man" tactics. |

janco:Let them go ahead and take legal action if dem born them. It is not news that thousands of barrels of crude oil is lost daily through these vessels, is that not too much a violation that has been consistently overlooked? |

Image123:It is not by speculation and hearsay...there must be proof. That is d way d real world works and u can be sure d assumed perpetrators will cover their tracks as much as possible! Nigeria must identify loopholes and plug them and prudently make an example of any erring one with full decisive actions. You don't threaten such people while leaving urself open to attack! |

| Re: Buhari Bows To Pressure, Reverses Ban On 113 Oil Vessels by Image123(m): 11:59am On Sep 13, 2015 |
kenny987:So the so called 250,000 barrels of crude oil stolen daily is speculation and hearsay? There is no attack anywhere, they cannot dare to do nada. So if visitors are in my house stealing me dry, i cannot halt everybody guilty or otherwise and then restore some level of sanity and new agreement? It's our territory and our crude, and we retain every right to stop buyers and sellers in an environment where 250000 barrels of crude is disappearing daily. Anyone who is not happy can log out and buy crude somewhere else. These people are not doing us favours. |

Image123:U just identified the 250,000 barrels as 'so called'. That expression tells u that there is some doubt... They may not be doing Nigeria any favours but Nigeria signed business contracts, agreements or treaties which they are bound by. A breach on either side without credible reasons or evidence has severe repercussions! If there was confirmed proof of crude theft by those banned then why call them back? U should be sanctioning them and recovering losses not threatening them and asking them to agree not to do so again while allowing them access once more! |

| Re: Buhari Bows To Pressure, Reverses Ban On 113 Oil Vessels by Image123(m): 4:32pm On Sep 13, 2015 |
kenny987:Yes, i identified the FIGURE actually because there are varying figures from 400,000 to 300,000, to even 2million(i guess that was a slip of tongue from Buhari though), to 150,000barrels that Okonjo-Iweala gave Amanpour on CNN in 2013. The variation/doubt is in the number of barrels stolen, however, all the parties seem to be agreed on the point that thousands of barrels of crude oil are being stolen daily. Now, if these barrels are getting missing, Nigeria has the commonsense right to stop anybody involved at any time t to verify. You can always stop suspects, it is different from harassing or condemning suspects without proof. The FG banned those 113 suspect vessels until further notice. That ban has being lifted and agreements signed/re-signed to ensure compliance. If any company or vessel feels they cannot cope or are aggrieved, the exit door is very open. It remains our oil and our territory, if they do not like the way we want to do business, let them go someplace else, simples. This is simple standard security protocol. If a thief or terrorist is in my compound, i can stop and search everybody, guilty or otherwise. If the innocent feels aggrieved, let him go to court. AGAIN, dem no born them. |

nobeku:Firstly I can assure you that you can never by physically close to me as I am simply not on your level. You are the very personification of the stupid black man. All rage and emotion and zero ability to think analytically. It is because of people like you that our race remains bottom of every conceivable development index. If your actually had a working brain between your ears, you may have asked yourself these questions. 1: How come during the coup of 1985 No senior officers tried to defend Buhari(Contrast with the Dimka attempted coup) 2:If Buhari was so easy to work with and such a team player, how comes he failed 3 times at becoming president and only succeed with the backing of Tinubu? Where was the great mass of leading lights in the country queuing up behind Buhari? The old saying that you can fool all of the people some of the time but you can fool all of the people all of the time, will certainly apply here. Buhari is an unreformed dictator who only listens to himself. Nothing has changed since IBB kicked him out. Thats just a fact. Now if that annoys you or causes you high blood pressure, there are a choice of lagoons in Lagos you can fling yourself into, or endless transformers you can hug tightly. |
