Get the Avalon. It means you're getting a lexus in Toyota badge.

Bot h cars are sweet. I assume u are getting the accord v6 since the Avalon is also v6. I still prefer. I prefer the Avalon for just one reason..... The leather seat on 08 accord v6 is terrible and that's a FACT.

Am actually getting a clean used version of one of the two cars.

So I am also considering its strenght after being used. I saw the leather seaast of 08, didnt like it too

The myth regarding the gearbox problems remain implausible as most issues with gearboxes here in Naija are usually related to wrong type of ATF fluid being used and poor technical skills and knowledge by most technicians here.

I think the avalon is a good deal, although it's longer thou. But the accord is also good. I have to say just go with your heart on this one.

your question needs a theorem to answer, IF the camry muscle is on par with the Evil spirit and could be better than the Evil spirit, and the Avalon is better than the muscle and looks like a partially cloned Lexus, then substituting for better, we have Avalon is better than camry which is better than the evil spirit. Better means more premium as used in my context. As said, the Accord only has a edge in fuel economy.

I've seen most Honda cars on top speed on the high way, if you take good care of your cars, they will serve you well irrespective of the brand.

Honda and Toyota both do well in the reliability stakes,just that if I were in ur shoes,I'd pick the more recent Honda to the Avalon since it wud av gone thru less depreciation. Also guessin u a lady and if u wud drive urself, the accord is easier as its smaller in size but if u wud be driven in it,then I can say take the Avalon as it wud be more roomy at the back

Just servicing and changing stabilizer links and bushings which actually came bad with the car. As for poor, fuel economy, I don't know what these guys are talking about. My avalon has better fuel economy than my 4cyl 2007 camry (camry has no check engine light). Whichever u want to get, just avoid the first year models. Avoid avalon 05. Avoid accord 08. Get later models.

for an everyday car, buy your Honda and have your mechanic check the ball joint rubber covering every other service. Avalon is a luxury car.

I have been using 2006-2008 Avalon 2yrs now.Fantastic car.Consume less fuel than even my 2002 Mazda 626.Changed nothing yet apart from brake pads and oil.Beautiful and rugged. King of the road.

the avalon any time any day, beats the accord.
u can compare accord to the camry.

What I see here is elementary school analysis of both cars comparing a $30k and $20k cars being sold almost at the same price.

Then making fuel economy an issue?

Doesn't it occur to you that those who buy full size cars don't consider fuel economy they just want luxury and power.

Those who don't even drive will recommend the Accord both cars are not in the same class na bicycle versus okada and some one said bicycle does not need fuel it is better even if priced the same.

I read forums but I also needed Nigerians opinion as I will be using it in Lagos bad roads and not thier good roads and also Nigerian mechanics

So my range should be 2007-2008 for Avalon and 2009-2011 for accord. If I want to go for any of them. I don't want to buy a Camry, my close friend already has a new Camry, I don't want wahala
