those guys representing us work for firstbank and digitalencode
they have day to day tasks to meetup with at their respective places of work

those whom they will compete with have much higher IQs, members of mensa.org, they build security systems, compilers, decompilers, operating systems and spend 18 hours daily researching and creating things that never existed.

all those 5 guys do is probably hack with python, java, php,js. a system built and contributed to by those they will be up against

laughing very hard grin

Hello,

You are correct in some of your assertions, But I belive there is no way you can conclusively know if they had lower IQs compared to Those you think are better than them. I think its an insult, and a form of intellectual harakiri to judge the book based on the cover. The fact that they are not white does not mean they have lower IQs, or will not be able to beat ''Mensa'' champions. Just Saying.

Nigeria To Fly African Flag At Global Cyberlympics

A Nigerian Team of cyber security professionals “TeamNaija” will be representing the African continent at Washington, DC in this year’s Cyberlympics event. The team is made up of Wale Obadare (Digital Encode), Uchenna Aka (FirstBank), David Abolusoro (FirstBank), Rotimi Akinyele (BDO UAE), Bimbo Jaiyeola (Union bank) and the team captain Oluseyi Akindeinde (Digital Encode).

Global Cyberlympics is a hands on cyber security team game sport that brings together the best ethical hackers from around the world to compete in a series of Forensics, Penetration testing, Computer Network Defense, and Capture the Flag Challenges. This year’s competition was full of intrigues as the participants were given hardened systems to break into and other complex tasks to complete within limited time.

The teams had to go through 3 rounds while the number of teams proceeding to the next stage kept reducing until the end of the Final round where TeamNaija emerged first and another Nigerian Team Hawx came second. Judging was based on the speed at which systems were hacked, the number of vulnerabilities found and the techniques used to uncover them.

TeamNaija had competed in 2012 and represented the continent at the world Finals in Miami where they had a very good outing.
The team has since then, built capacity over the years to world standard with the ability to match the skills of the best in the field.
Among the 6 team members, they have over 50 IT Certifications which include CISSP, CCNP, OSCP, ISO 27001:LI, PCIP, PCI-ISA, SECURITY +, CSA, MSA, C|EH, E|CSA, L|PT, eCPPT, FBCS, ECSP, CHFI, CITP, CCNA,CCDP,CCIE(written),SNAA,QCS, ISO 20000:LA, ISO27001:LA, ISO 22301:LA, PCIQSA, COBIT 5 ASSESSOR, MCSE and CRISC, to mention a few.

A member of the team, Rotimi Akinyele, who currently works with BDO UAE, and consults for UAE government entities, said despite competing against the best-of-the-best in the whole world, the team was very confident of winning and returning as champions.

You should read the writeup first. .and yes, there was a qualifier. .Actually, 3 qualifying rounds where different teams in Africa competed and Judging was based on the speed at which systems were hacked. .

My Yoruba people are brilliant, but we don't have the technology advancement for this in Nigeria.

China, Russia or Indians. They can hack into the white house sef.

Seems people are giving this a wrong interpretation. They're hackers not crackers. Hacking
is a profession and not crime as some illiterates are tagging it.

Hacking is breaking into networks. Cracking is defying safeguards, usuallly applied to cryptography in software.

Hacking is mostly illegal or unethical, depending on your intent.

Whitehat hacking can be a job and legal since its ethical; blackhat hacking is illegal and is most certainly a crime.

Legal hackers are known as ethical hacker while illegal once are know as dark hackers. hacking and cracking is very different

Funny enough, these guys are not the BEST hackers Nigeria has! There is this guy i know very well who learnt hacking in Pakistan and Ukraine and is based here in Abuja. He is 1 out of the 4 Nigerian members of the International Faceless Hacking Group called "Anonymous" I once asked him to enroll for the competition and he refused. His reason: After the competition and he gets to hack something big and the origin is traced to Nigeria, the world will know "whom to hold responsible".

The day i fear this guy was when he downloaded the firmware of BMW from the BMW's intranet website and converted it into a JAVA file, installed it in an old Nokia phone and unlocked his in-law's X6! shocked shocked Though when he tried to start the vehicle with it, the app crashed the phone.
