With Pellegrini having real interest in Nacho, I believe Nacho is in good hands. My fear is Isaac Success who I rate highly. I do not trust the coaches at Granada to groom him. I wish the management of Udinese can send him to Watford. Even if he is on the bench to work with Qique Sanchez Flores.

Inter Milan offered Five million Euros. Udinese management should have sold the young man to them and let Mancini train him.

Well I pray and wish Isaac Success the best.

Well, I guess that says it all doesn't it? *smiles*

Playing Iheanacho is an experimentation huh?

Can someone just take a look at the class of players Nacho was mentioned alongside as "IMPORTANT".

Well, it's ok....... Thanks Sir Joseph.

A well respected and great coach like Pellegrini rates Nacho highly and guys are coming here and saying he is not there. They should chill and watch the shrewd tactician work his magic.

Nigeria: No Brazil Friendly for Dream Team Vi

By Duro Ikhazuagbe
The international friendly planned for next month between Nigeria's Under-23 team, the Dream Team VI and their Brazilian counterpart has been put on hold for now.
The game scheduled to hold in London on September 15 was part of Samson Siasia's tune up matches ahead of the African Under-23 Championship in Senegal that will serve as qualifier for the 2016 Olympic football event.
Spokesman of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Ademola Olajire, confirmed to THISDAY last night that the Brazil friendly has been shelved till another time because it was too close to the African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifiers.
"We plan to use the Under-23 team to play the CHAN qualifiers and so the Brazil friendly had to be shelved till some other time. Nigeria is playing Burkina Faso just two or three days after the proposed London friendly. We don't want to take the risk of key player getting injured before the qualifiers," observed Olajire in a telephone interview with THISDAY.
Before the shifting of the game, Siasia had hinted of his intentions to use the match to size-up his wards ahead of the crucial qualifiers in Senegal where Nigeria has been drawn in a tough Group B along with Egypt, Algeria and Mali.
"We hope to soon resume training camp for the CAF U-23 Championship and begin preparations for a possible international friendly with Brazil in London in the next few weeks," Siasia stressed on return from Congo Brazzaville where the Dream Team won the third place bronze.
Meanwhile, after losing to Burkina Faso at the semi final stage of the men's football event of the just concluded African Games in Congo, Siasia is desperately seeking the inclusion of Manchester City's Kelechi Iheanacho and Liverpool's signing, Taiwo Awoniyi, in his team for the 2015 African U-23 Championship.
Both players missed out of the African Games after their club sides held on to them because the competition was not on FIFA calendar. "If we can get the likes of (Kelechi) Iheanacho, (Taiwo) Awoniyi it would be great for the team. I have been talking to the two players to see if they can be a part of this team.
"Hopefully their clubs would release them. To get the clubs to release them is the only problem we have, otherwise we will stick with the ones we have and start working on improving our goal scoring abilities. If we start changing too many players now it's going to destroy the whole team," Siasia told Goal.comyesterday.
"We will go on a week recess and let's say by the end of this month or first week in October we will come back to camp to start preparations for the African Championship in Senegal. I think that will give us 14 days trainings before the game.
"We will try to see anybody we can see but we don't want to make too many changes because that would kill the team. We need to just learn from our mistakes and make sure that it won't repeat itself in Senegal.
"We didn't play that bad in Congo Brazzaville in the just concluded All Africa Games. Our problem is scoring goals and we will keep working on that, he concluded.

U-23 team must be tactically disciplined – Hamilton

Former Super Eagles coach, Paul Hamilton.
By Kazeem Busari
Former Flying Eagles coach, Paul Hamilton, believes Nigeria would have won gold in the men’s football event of the Brazzaville 2015 All Africa Games in Congo if the U-23 team had been tactically disciplined against Burkina Faso.
Nigeria lost 3-1 to the Burkinabe in the semifinals. They eventually beat Congo on penalties to win bronze.
Hamilton told our correspondent on the telephone on Tuesday that the team would need to improve in different departments before going into their Senegal 2015 African U-23 Championship, which serves as the qualifiers for the Rio 2016 Olympics.
“The U-23 team gave us hope but they disappointed everyone at the Games. I think the players were over-excited. They could have won the tournament because I don’t see how the other teams were better,” Hamilton said.
“The coach will have a lot to do in instilling tactical discipline in his players. The challenge will be tougher at the Olympic qualifiers.”
The former international was also unhappy with the Super Falcons’ failure to win a medal at the Games.
“The Falcons will have to retrace their steps in order to regain their lost glory. They have conquered Africa many times, so it seems they need to take the All Africa Games challenge more seriously. I don’t think it is exhaustion on their part,” the ex-national women’s team coach said.
“I think the problem with the Falcons is a lack of continuity in the coaching department. We are always eager to change the coach as soon as the team don’t perform well. We have changed about three coaches is a relatively short time.
“The All Africa Games are globally recognised, so it is not wise to change the coaching crew a few weeks to the competition. If we are not interested in the Games, we should pull out.”
The veteran coach also expressed shock that Warri Wolves striker Gbolahan Salami did not make the list for the Super Eagles’ friendly games against DR Congo and Cameroon next month.
“The friendly game against Ghana in Uyo last year showed that Salami has the quality to be in the team. It was a match that excited me because it convinced me that we have a good pool of players that can form the next generation,” he said.
“I don’t know why the coach (Sunday Oliseh) will not select Salami, but we should be ready to support the coach to do his job, and also give him time to succeed. The team need support from the Nigeria Football Federation, especially from the fans.”

Onyali seeks chance to showcase his talents in Flying Eagles, Dream Team

Though, it was a tough state for midfielder Ifeanyi Onyali in the Nigeria Premier Football League, yet he has remained the most consistent performer in Abia warriors FC since their climb to the elite scene both in terms of a play-maker known for providing needed assists to the point- men up front and scoring important goals.

Ifeanyi Onyali
Many see him as a reliable for Abia Warriors, due to his breathtaking performance undaunted as one eager and willing to excel. A player that was snapped up from Bussdors F.C, although picked from Fujke Soccer Academy Aba .
Playing in the elite league, his career has bloomed, hence he is now one to reckon with. He was instrumental in giving Abia warriors a slim 2-1 victory over title contender’s Warri Wolves in a recent tie.
Besides, Onyali has to his credit 8 league goals wonderful goals in 25 league appearance s from last season so far. This current season Onyali has netted 5 goals 24 matches which performance officials say cannot be overlooked coming from a mid-fielder.
That’s why the player believes he could be an asset if given an opportunity to star for any of the national under-20 and under-23 teams.”I am calling on our national team selectors to look my direction because I do sincerely want to make my contribution to the country.”
A top club official describes him as an inspirational attacking mid-fielder with ability to combine the defensive network of Abia Warriors into attack. “He is a player that needs to be looked at by our national team selectors,” he said.

Iheanacho’ ll bring the best out in Ighalo – Ene Okon

Kelechi Iheanacho
By Festus Abu
Senegal ’92 Africa Cup of Nations bronze medallist Ene Okon believes Manchester City youngster Kelechi Iheanacho will bring out the best in on-form Watford striker Odion Ighalo.
Nigeria coach Sunday Oliseh on Friday named Ighalo on his list of 24 players for next month’s friendly games against DR Congo and Cameroon in Belgium.
Although Iheanacho earned widespread plaudits for marking his second first-team appearance for Manchester City with a late goal to help them beat Crystal Palace 1-0 at Selhurst Park on September 12, Oliseh left the 18-year-old out of his list for the Super Eagles’ two friendlies.
And former Nigeria midfielder Okon, who has lavished praise on Oliseh for inviting Ighalo, who has scored four league goals for Watford this season, maintains the Eagles manager will maximise the talent of the former Spain-based striker with Iheanacho striking up a partnership with him.
“I thought Oliseh would invite Iheanacho for the two friendly games. But I’m disappointed he refused to invite him,” the former BCC Lions star told our correspondent on the telephone on Monday.
“He has his reason for not inviting him. We should respect his decision, because it’s not easy being the national team coach.
“Iheanacho has shown he’s a big talent. I think he will support Ighalo, who has proved he’s a good striker, in our attack.
“If we have Iheanacho playing behind Ighalo and (on-loan West Ham forward) Victor Moses on the right side of the midfield, we won’t struggle to score goals.”
Okon, who represented Nigeria at the Chile ’87 FIFA Under-20 World Cup, welcomed Oliseh’s decision to recall Chelsea midfielder Mikel Obi to the Eagles.
Oliseh omitted the 2012 UEFA Champions League winner from his squad for the Gabon 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Tanzania in Dar es Salaam on September 5, which ended in a goalless draw.
The former Nigeria captain also left Mikel out of his squad for the friendly game against Niger three days later in Port Harcourt. Nigeria won 2-0.
Okon said,”Mikel is still one of our best players. I don’t know why some Nigerians don’t like him.
“He does not sit on the bench at Chelsea because he’s a bad player. Jose Mourinho would have sold him if he’s no longer relevant to the club.
“Chelsea have many good players and the coach has to choose one player for each position.”
He added, “I’m happy Oliseh has decided to invite him. He will help the team a lot.
“Mikel will create scoring chances for our attackers. He’s an experienced player – and deserves respect for his achievements in the game.”

Now I know there's a thread by Sir Joseph1013 on Sunday Oliseh and the Super Eagles where this can be better discussed but hey! It's popped up here so let's hit a little on it................................
*smiles*

Exciting line-up. I can see that you prefer Ikeme Carl to Africa's no 1, Vincent Enyeama. Well, any of them in goal will do but I'll still go with Enyeama.

The defence is pretty good. With oboabona as back-up centreback and good competition for Troost Ekong coz Omeruo is our main man in defence.

That midfield is gonna be something really scary for other teams if it ever happens. OMG!!!
but as things stand from the 24-man list, our midfield may have the ffwg lineups- Onazi Mikel Rabiu OR Obiorah Onazi Mikel.....

This attack is gonna be deadly....... Victor Moses to start, Ahmed Musa to start. In Ighalo we hv an exciting and on-song centre forward. We still have the exciting Moses Simon to stand in for one of Victor or Musa. Truth is I'll prefer seeing The Two Moses' flanking Ighalo. With Musa to come do more damage from the bench. Really exciting combos going forward!!!! (OR WHAT ABOUT THIS ATTACK? SimonMoses Iheanacho VictorMoses OR........... Mehn!!!! Who says we got no talents? *smiles*)

As competition for Ighalo there's Emenike or Sylvester Igboun (or is it Igbonu).

NOTE: my thoughts are in line with the 24-man list.
If we spread the dragnet to beyond the list then a few changes might still occur.

BUT ALL THE SAME....... FINE LINE-UP SIR FINNIBLINKS.

Please which class are you talking about? Which bitter truth is Icon saying? Make your point clear. We are waiting for Icon4s to give us his reasons and you are here saying bitter truth. If the form Bony is showing at City is the class you are talking I beg you, it is nothing to write home about. If Bony continues playing the way he is playing at City, he will lose his place in the first team, squad and Man City.

Please, Bony's first season was not amazing. 16 goals in 34 league games. In that season, a young Lukaku (then 19-20 years old) on loan from Chelsea scored 15 goals in 31 league games and did better than Bony.

in what way did lukaku do better Dan bony.bony is better than lukaku in all ways.16 goals in 1st season in a new country 4 a modest club isn't amazing to u? bony has won d highest goal scorer in a top division tell me wat iheanacho has on him (an u-17 award ryt?) iheanacho is talented no doubt but that city goal isn't a reflection of his talent na (Jordan ibe,Aaron roland,Dominic solanke) will all score dat rebound na and una dey hala like say e score 5 goals in 9 minutes #d hype is too much ooh juxt imagine if a young player like draxler was a Nigerian u guys will compare him to cr7.

even Falcao and Rooney world class? What a joke! I NEVER called Iheanacho world class, do you know any 'world class' 18-year old footballer? There is none. He has the potential to be world class, but he certainly is not. In the words of the legendary Alex Ferguson "Leonel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo are the only world class players today"

Yeah...... Iwobi is in. It's officially now a 25-man squad to serve as the nucleus and foundation Oliseh will further build on.

But in case you don't know there's a thread dedicated to Oliseh and the Super Eagles by the same person who started this wonderful thread, Joseph1013. Check out his topics and you'll find it.

But hey! You aren't exactly out of line mentioning it here coz Alex Iwobi is also under Siasia's radar for the U-23 Dream Team Eagles........... *smiles*

The article even stated the profile of Ene Okon "Senegal ’92 Africa Cup of Nations bronze medallist Ene Okon believes ......." and "And former Nigeria midfielder Okon" respectively, but you still went ahead to say what is in bold above.
You don't need to know how to kick the ball before you know or identify someone with great football potentials. You need natural eyes and a sharp and sound sense of judgment that is not beclouded with non-positive thinking, to identify one. If Kelechi Iheanacho fails (God forbid Bad thing wey no fit happen) then that becomes his fault and that of people like ******* because on our side, we have seen and believed in what lies ahead of him.

Na Wa for you. Simple maths will explain to you who did better.

Bony has a 16/34 = 0.47 average goals per game.

While Lukaku has a 15/31 = 0.483 average goals per game.

I beg tell me who did better.

Please, I did not say Lukaku is better. I said a young Lukaku on loan from Chelsea at around 19 - 20 years did better than Bony. So why refer to Bony's first season as if it was mind blowing. Bony's first season was an average season.

in what way did lukaku do better Dan bony.bony is better than lukaku in all ways.16 goals in 1st season in a new country 4 a modest club isn't amazing to u? bony has won d highest goal scorer in a top division tell me wat iheanacho has on him (an u-17 award ryt?) iheanacho is talented no doubt but that city goal isn't a reflection of his talent na (Jordan ibe,Aaron roland,Dominic solanke) will all score dat rebound na and una dey hala like say e score 5 goals in 9 minutes #d hype is too much ooh juxt imagine if a young player like draxler was a Nigerian u guys will compare him to cr7.

The truth is that people like you just want to put words in people's mouth to make your point look slick. First of all, Draxler is a class talent. It is unfortunate injury slowed his career drastically and stopped him from reaching his game. With less injuries, he might emerge as a true gem.

De Bruyne is showing good form and Draxler is the one bought to replace him.

No one on this thread is saying Nacho is World class already. Did you not read repeatedly where I said as long as Nacho works hard in what he believes, he with reach the top. So what are you guys making it look like we are saying Nacho is Messi. We said that is the target set by the City coaches. Let me repeat it again. That is the target set by the City coaches.

Finally, you said Ibe and co. will score that goal. Men, I have seen Ibe miss lots of close range goals. So leave that talk.

even Falcao and Rooney world class? What a joke! I NEVER called Iheanacho world class, do you know any 'world class' 18-year old footballer? There is none. He has the potential to be world class, but he certainly is not. In the words of the legendary Alex Ferguson "Leonel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo are the only world class players today"
falcao ain't world class? hmm am talking about radamel ooh d 1 hu stood on d ballon d'or podium if he z not world class to u den I rest my case.
Rooney d guy wit d england scoring record not world class okay continue ooh god is watching and tell Ferguson to eat his words abeg I guess he was clowning abi u wan follow am say robben ain't worldclass

Why don't you try to understand what one is saying before you jump into saying all dat you're saying?

And Sir, Julian Draxler even as a german is no way near Robben or even Neymar not to mention CR7 . Give us a break...... *smiles*

And congrats to Lewy....... I call him "Lewan-GOALS-ki"

*smiles*

Hahahahahahahahaha.................... Sir pls..... I don't think anybody is insulting "AFRICA'S MOST EXPENSIVE PLAYER EVER", wilfred bony.......... Abeg o!

Bony has my respects big time but Safarigirl got a point. WORLDCLASS IS PROBABLY THE MOST MISUSED AND MOST MISUNDERSTOOD TERM IN SOCCER.

Even Sir Alex Ferguson in his book, said in all his time at Man utd, he only worked with about 4 "world class talents" AND ROONEY WAS NOT ONE OF THEM.

hmm I guess we all see world class in different ways ooh.leave grandpa fergie 4 1 corner jhur in his list of world class players am not sure he mentioned veron but as wen man u bought Juan Sebastian veron he was d most expensive so can u b d costliest and not b world class I doubt dat.

Na Wa for you. Simple maths will explain to you who did better.

Bony has a 16/34 = 0.47 average goals per game.

While Lukaku has a 15/31 = 0.483 average goals per game.

I beg tell me who did better.
I wasn't just talking about goal scoring dats y I said in all ways am talking bout their total game play and how they assist d team anyway d thread isn't about lukaku vs bony so make I chill

am wondering were u knew me 4rm dat u think I want to put words into ur mouth.
ibe missing close range chances stands 4 ntin messi has been missing from 12 yards na so doesn't mean ibe will miss dat goal

International Friendlies:
Nigeria call up Arsenal youngster Iwobi

Alex Iwobi gets Eagles call-up
Nigeria coach Sunday Oliseh, has included Arsenal starlet Alex Iwobi to his squad for next month’s friendlies against DR Congo and Cameroon in Belgium.
The Super Eagles take on DRC on October 8 and three days later, they face Cameroon.
Iwobi, a nephew of the legendary Austin ‘Jay Jay’ Okocha and who trained with the Nigeria U23s in early March, is eligible to represent the country of his father despite featuring for England at youth level.
FIFA have clarified that the 19–year-old forward could now represent Nigeria because he did not feature for England in an official game.
The NFF have now received from The Football Association a list of seven matches that Iwobi played for England at youth level, none of which was an official game.
FIFA underscored that Iwobi can put on the green-white-green since he has permanent Nigerian citizenship and did not represent another association (country) in a match in an official competition.
