Using MIUI7 at the moment.. Very stable rom. Feel free to update your device as you won't regret it
A lot of us don't know how to do that.

Check out old posts on this thread

Especially from aeriomon

I updated mine from a link he shared earlier

Now am using MIUI V7 5.9.18 Multi language rom from XIAOMI.EU

alternatively, if you want the official rom, visit MIUI forum for your device, Google can easily take you there

Battery life improve greatly on MIUI 7

Even at that the battery life isn't as good as Meizu's, but you just have to love miui

Why does this phone have many issues? Flashing, some ppl can't use their downloaded apps, some can't get playstore to work on their device, some experience huge battery drain on standby...what exactly is with this phone?

This dude again asking many questions since the time of Adam and Eve.

If you go to a shop to buy phone and you keep on coming day after day to ask questions, walahi they for don break your head grin

How many complain do you see here, are you a leaner?

The market is competitive, competitors can come up with silly things to discourage people from buying the brand.

Lol. Now normally I don't laugh when people take jibes at me, but this your comment sounds like a clown finally talking and I'm sure more clowns like you will like your clowny comment. I feel happy asking my questions, if u like you answer, if you don't like you keep quiet. Plus if u buy and dash me I'll gladly take it cos I may never buy the phone. But I'm curious to know why 'everybody' is talking about the phone. This is an online forum and I'm entitled to comment as much as I like.
My verdict however, is that Xiaomi Redmi Note is not a good phone generally, has lots and lots of issues with it. Over 3000mah battery that drains drastically like someone having premature ejaculatn, disturbing people with stüpid flashing, then imagine Android phone that finds it hard to use Google apps. Chinko will not kill you people.

I have had this phone for about a month but I never used it cos I hated the white back cover and was waiting for the black replacement back cover I ordered to arrive. That came in yesterday so I unboxed the phone and began tweaking for optimum performance.

First thing I did was flash the Xiaomi.eu MIUI 7 multilanguage ROM of 18/9/2015. (Thanks to Aieromon for the download links and walking me through the steps on whatsapp). I used the inbuilt MI recovery in flashing the ROM and it went well.

I installed TWRP recovery, SuperSU & Nova Launcher and it's been smooth sailing since then.

MIUI has a learning/adaptation curve and it takes some getting used to (coming from a phone background of Tecno Phantom A+, Samsung Galaxy S4, Leagoo Lead 1, Elephone G5 & Cubot s200) but it's cool and I'm not complaining.

Never used the phone out of the box so I never experienced the issues a few have reported here. I inserted my SIMS, SDcard and installed apps into the phone for the first time yesterday after flashing the MIUI 7 Multi language ROM.

* Battery life is pretty decent, it charges fast and it holds it charge well in use.

* Screen is fast & responsive, display is fantastic with good colour reproduction (MIUI has options to customize this to your taste/needs)

* Camera is very good & I'm impressed with its output

* Call quality is good, loud, has enough bass and doesn't sound hollow.

* Speaker is fairly loud and produces rich sound. Sound quality with earphones is even better & with more customizable options

What else, what else. . . . . . . . .nothing jare grin

FINAL WORD: I love MIUI 7 and I love my Xiaomi Redmi Note 2.

The reason we like Xiaomi is that there are too many developers tweaking their ROM. You will be provided with many ROMs.

MIUI7 is solid.. Also got my device from initialize..

I have been using the phone for getting on to 2 weeks now and am thus much more qualified to pronounce a verdict on it than you ever are,l mean seriously how can you pronounce a VERDICT on a phone you've NEVER even seen..
Firstly,I've been using it the way it was out of the box,am not one for tweaks, even though there's an update waiting, and the phone has been working to my satisfaction nonetheless.
Again I don't know where the issue of battery drain is coming from,as I mentioned earlier the battery life is better than my Galaxy Note 2 ever was and I still stand by that.
Seems to me the majority of people complaining about this phone have NEVER seen talk less of owning it,the impression I've got from REAL owners like ME are of SATISFACTION with their Redmi Note 2..

Am not impressed with the battery at all. It seems the 3000mah is just a joke. Although the fast charging works pretty good. I am on their latest build MIUI v7 5.9.9 and no much difference, just a smoother OS and no single issue with Google play and Google services. Anyways its a very cheap phone to me and can't complain much.

I can relate with you because you actually OWN and USE the phone. You should have given a feedback here and received enough suggestions. That's why there's a thread for this purpose.

The MIUI 7 is still in beta testing. Every Friday, new updates are made available to take care of existing bugs . The idea is that users test, report bugs and it is expected that the issues will be fixed in the upcoming updates. You need to update to the latest build which is 5.9.18 or wait for Friday's release (5.9.24).

I was on 5.9.18 before, and the battery life was worse.

The update you downloaded is it the stock ROM or the multi language ROM from XIAOMI. EU?

I was initially on the stock ROM, released by MIUI.com n their forum and the battery was wacky and to many Chinese, as soon as aieromon posted the link for the multi language ROM, I changed mine ( thanks to glo, I d able to do it in 2 hours!)

After downloading the multi language ROM, the battery improved greatly

Secondly it is common knowledge that some people don't want to hear the word 'flash'

Well, FYI, I did didn't flash or root my phone to download the multi language ROM

I just used the updater app on the phone, by tapping the the dots above it (...), and choose the file I've already renamed as directed

For people who are sceptic, this phone is very great, especially it's speed

The in built browser ( baidu) is way faster than Uc Browser and opera combined. ( I have both browsers, but I don't use them now)

The picture quality is way better than its specs (better than Meizu's M2 note, which have same spec with it)

Is it the themes or the baidu music player, where you can easily stream and download western songs without going through the browser? By now I think I've listen to almost all the songs one direction would have sang as I continuously stream their songs,
The beauty of it is that you can see the lyrics and sing along with them. Who can beat that on a stock/in built music player?

I've been as astute Meizu fan apart from a few features ,(that are negligible) Redmi is great

I would recommend it for any one

Fyi, Google ' compare Redmi note 2 and Samsung Galaxy s5' and you would never advise any one to buy s5 again!
