I hold a bachelor of Law degree from a reputable uni. In Nigeria.

Are u doing ur masters or bachelors?
Masters.

Since you graduated with 2:2, in my opinion, your chances of admission into UofM are quite slim.

Mail the graduate advisor or a lecturer in your intended department and inquire about your chances of admission. It's better to confirm from the horse's mouth instead of NL.

The class is not as important as the cgpa. So let us know your last CGPA and also your GPA for the last 4 semesters at Uni. You may have to go for a PGD first though, but knowing these info will help guys here to advise you appropriately

Hello House

This Part of the form where it says

cost of studies will be
tuitiion room and board other

my expenses in canada will be paid by

myself
parents
other

which is more applicable since my sponsor is is my mom and co sponsor my uncle ?

I am not sure but I think you should use the person that has more funds. Hence if it is your mum you choose "parent"; if it is your uncle, u choose "other"
Both sponsors should write a letter of sponsorship.

Let other members of the house contribute

Did you get a request for medicals? Cost depends on where you do it 28k IOM, 40k in Abuja.
They don't check the genotype so you should be fine (though your hemoglobin might give it away). Just be positive and hope for the best.
You'll most likely have to defer because it takes on average 2 weeks after medicals to receive passport with TRV.

Hello guys, I'm new here so I'm sorry if had jumped any protocol. Myself and my wife are currently in Canada for our post graduate studies program. We came in shortly after we got married in Nigeria and so her passport and study permit still carries her name though her school enrolment letter was successfully changed to my name. Now my worries is how to go about her study permit and passport still carrying her name. However, her passport would be due for renewal in 2017 , same with her study permit because her LLM program is just one year even though she has the grace to extend he LLM to 2 years. May I ask if she should wait till close to a year when her study permit, passport and visa would be due for renewal before she starts the change of name processes or please guys, what do you suggest sirs.

Hello Guys, nice work from all our contributors. I've not been so frequent here because of the nature of my work. However, I should be applying online for my study permit by this month's end.
I want to know the current CAD equivalent of my sponsor's account balance. Google says it's 149.46 naira. Since i want to give a detailed breakdown of my costs in proof of finance, should I use this value or that which is obtainable at banks (I currently don't know how much banks sell the CAD)?

Sorry to hear about your plight. What program are you applying to? What are your research interests?
It could be that the structure of your email doesn't properly address what they are looking for. You probably have some of the experience they need but you need to market yourself to them.

For a research statement, you can find samples online or through university libraries. You'll need to identify a subject area & then identify a question you would like to find an answer to, that'll be the basis for your research statement.

Thanks bro, I actually plan to apply for Masters in Public health But i realized that most schools in Canada do not give scholarship and someone on this forum advised that If funding is a really important factor, i should apply for an MSc Course (Health Sci, Community Health etc). It's thesis-based and i need to get a potential supervisor, who can avail funding. it's proving quite difficult for me so far.

These tips on getting a research supervisor should help you.

Thank you bro. I believe my emails are quite ok. My fear is, would it be any problem if i send a different mails to supervisors in the same department?

I don't really know for other Canadian Universities you listed but UofM requires GRE especially for the department you mentioned.

And why don't you want to take GRE Please, always back up statements like that with reasons to avoid an unfavourable response from me. I don't have much advice to give you than to simply ask you to CHECK the websites of these schools YOU listed here and your intended department to see if GRE is a requirement.

It is not everything that NL gives you a safe answer. My people, please know more about your intended department, school and their requirements and your chances of admission. Nobody on NL, even someone that's already a student of the school or department can exclusively tell you your fate.

Your CGPA is okay and I hope your CGPA for the last two semesters is close to if not above 4.0. Nonetheless, mail a graduate advisor or a lecturer in the department of your intended school to get feedback on your chances.
