for those who remembered my history. i stumbled on the thread and asked plenty questions cos there wasnt so much time to wait b4 booking appointment lesson 1: if you ever have such issue, just open a ds160 form, save it,copy d application # & book ur appointment. you have 30 days from the day u opened the ds160 to submit it. that way you can read up naira land and be harmed with what you wana fill on the ds160, get docs, hospitals, accomodation sorted.,,little by little i started to read. thanks to all the infos here & the veterans who never stopped responding. i had made a mistake by selecting b2 for appointment, embassy told me to cancel n rebook appointment. (i dint ooo, no time... some1 here had said its no big deal) i simply changed my ds 160 which i hadnt submitted to b1/b2 and left the disparity like that oooo 2 Likes |

firsttymum: Thanks dear. 3rd ke! Pls o, After having two back to back I'm so not looking forward to a 3rd journey soon shawlar: Thank you . Changed my mind cos I figured if I stayed one day at the hospital I'll save a few $$$ which was a big risk money wise. Inshort God made me make that decision coz I had few complications with the birth, cord around baby's neck and she was not breathing, no movement at all. In the end God took charge, was given oxygen & after like 5min I heard that big cry after what felt like a lifetime I held her 16 Likes 1 Share |

Please for those mums who have travelled back to Nigeria with their babies without the baby's Dad, was anyone asked for a consent letter from the baby's dad granting permission for the baby to travel out of America at the airport? Someone just told me that the imigration officers ask for it at the airport but I have never heard about that procedure before. |

today 6.30am in lagos myself, DH, my toddler, and sis inlaw went there. the queue had no part 2. with my huge bump.. we began to move through till one man hit his head hard on my bump ooo.. choi.... LO began to kick hard. i became too tired sef, had to beg those guys( u know them na.... ) to let us in so they can check our documents. my visa type mismatch; no one raised any issue with it. was never mentioned sef note: SIL had seperate application from us. but we all went into the interview room together then splitted (make every1 bear their father's name) as we entered the dimly lit room, i must have gone deaf and blind with anxiety i wasnt seeing very clearly and i wonder how people manage to hear other people's interview.. i heard nothing.. just wanted it to be over and done with transcript(will try shorten it) vo dint answer our greeting till we greeted 2nd time purpose: child birth n family vac vo: asked for doc, hospi, budget sheet, and funding. we passed all. he dint ask to see accomodation details he also dint ask where n where we will be visiting in houston vo: turns to me and asks, "are you going to oakbend or centre for women's health. ( guess he got confused, i just answered oakbend and dint try to explain the difference btw the two) vo: who works in ****, and what's ur monthly take home.DH answered and mentioned his income vo turns to me "and you?" me: i am a sole trader with so so business & a home maker. average income is 40k he then proceeded to check the documents, checked to see our treasury bill maturity date was going to be before proposed travel date. he was further explaining what t-bills is to us ooo note: DH took his salary acct ststement, savings account with no money in but good turnover and t-bills letter. (i got the advise here not to liquidate it into our account but take the bank's letteralong) vo: who is your toddler returning with? DH:me, as DW will have her hands full with new baby then vo: why did uk refuse ur DW & toddler visa last year DH: he explained briefly there was little mix up with the application & was nothing serious vo: kept typing and nodding. na so i hear the word; your visa has been approved i dint hear anything again... i went further deaf with joy outside SIL was waiting..hers too was approved thanks to the good people on the thread who did not stop answering my fear fear questions.. abo mi re oooo. sorry for the long post 16 Likes |

My journey thus far. I flew with Delta from Los to Atlanta direct a few days ago.I had my fit to fly but wasn't even asked for it.I requested for a wheelchair in Atlanta and I got one as soon as I disemnarked. This I must say was a life saver cos I was with my son and the journey btw terminals in Atlanta no be beans. So I was wheeled to this black cbp guy who looked like he was just resuming and didn't appear too friendly.he asked what I came for and how long I was going to be around.Told him childbirth and 3months.after typing for a long time oooo,he asked that I be moved to secondary inspection. At secondary inspection I was quite happy it was a middle aged white guy that attended to me.He was sooo polite!Kept saying Pls,thank you etc.Even thanked me for my patience when he was done with me!!!! His questions were quite brief and no irritation whatsoever. He asked for the receipts of my first sons delivery and I gave them to him. Asked for the money on me,told him it was 8k,he counted and returned it.I also showed him the 3k receipt I had paid to the hospital for this delivery and that was it.he just told me to make sure I completed payment and always have my receipts on me. I then went to pick my bags and was directed to agriculture.my bags were searched and absolutely nothing was taken out(my noodles, fish, knor chicken were all seen). The lady just opened, sighted the items and let us go. All in all,I'm grateful to God it was a stress free entry 12 Likes |

So, i have been hesistant posting my bad experience, but who knows where help can come from. So it goes thus: During my visa renewal interview(been to the US before)i denied being pregnant. (Hadnt come across this thread then) Fast forward to months later, very slim me with a huge bump at 32 weeks decides to birth in houston. The cbp officer asks why am here, i say birthing n vac. He said why did i deny being pregnant and sends me in for secondary questioning. I spent 24 hours there, wasnt allowed to contact my family in the us or 9ja. Paying my docs fee in full didnt help. I was jst sent back, my visa cancelled and no chance to withdraw my application by myself. They called it misrepresentation of a matrrial fact. So i kuku come back to port harcourt, had my adorable son and weve been fine. So thats my story. And all this was in 2013 Anyone with ideas on how i am suppose to right this wrong? @popri, @firsttymum, @ all the gurus here..... Show me that posting my story here wasnt in vain. Thanks. . 1 Like |

Terese69:You may need the consent letter, I had similar experience with Naija immigration when I was traveling to US on my last missionary journey. The immigration guy asked me for consent letter for baby wey still dey belle sef . It wasn't funny cos the man wasted my time. I had to call hubby to talk with him, after much much, he let me go. If your hubby can write and email you. |

tteam: In my opinion 1. U denied being pregnant and u were caught 2. U r facing a 5 year ban I know lawyers help but that's when the person is wrongfully deported. I'm not sure if an appeal can work... because u r facing a ban o. Hmmmm mayb u shld ask in the visa official thread 1 Like |
