You don't get it.

Here maps is not detailed enough.
Several towns in Nigeria are missing.

Google maps has even the smallest village detailed.

Now I understand what you mean. Here is the way it works:

HERE maps has offline capabilities in which case you use pre-downloaded maps for navigation. This saves you data and also makes navigation possible in places and situations where you do not have online connection.

These offline maps are regularly updated to include more countries, more locations and more POIs as they unfold in real life situations. The implication of this is that if walmart opens in Ikoyi by October 2015, you will not immediately get Walmart as POI on your HERE offline maps until a new updated map data with Walmart included is available for download. The same applies with new roads and service lanes. Ditto newly "dualized" carriageways.

Online real time maps on the other hand is not hampered with these limitations. However it comes with it the availability of data and massive consumption of same.

Online navigation is AVAILABLE on HERE maps. Offline is not available on Google maps, although that has been in the works for over a year now without much headway. HERE maps online is therefore at par with that of google maps or any other online navigation solutions.

Try this out: When you are on a very fast network, launch your HERE maps and select Online navigation. Also select satellite view along with your options and set your destination or POI. You will be suprised to see all the cars packed around you, buildings and their roofing (even the colour of the roofs), forests, bushes and all other structures along your route will be displayed on your screen in all their glory and in real time. You may also select "Night view" to screen out some high resolution details so that only your route shows on your screen.

Lol, I agree with you on its functionality.

But in terms of coverage, it's behind.
Are you saying the town I live hasn't been included after years of here maps existence?
I used Gmaps for on my N95 years ago, and it had the tiniest detail complete.

The issue is not even the lack of details, but the complete non existence of full towns!

When last did they even update the maps?
Lol.....

The 950 looks terrific though.
I hope it makes great sales.

can only been flashed, why will u buy a Demo fone....calculating the money u gonna spend on it is enuf to buy the real one
got this from a site

"Oh my gosh I feel so sorry for your predicament. Yes go to the store as soon as you can to exchange it as if its a stolen phone it can be traced and you could be arrested and accused of stealing it. Also you should get the name of the person who served you (usually their name is printed on your receipt) and complain them for their incompetence. I know it was an easy mistake but attention to detail are fundamentals of the consumer service industry

When talking of offline maps, mapping countries isn't usually a very easy task to carry out, especially if it is to be newly mapped. Some towns or locations may be left out and even then those places that are newly mapped out are usually carried out with a lot of logistics including volunteers who offer information on their location. HERE maps, when it was still "Nokia maps" and "Ovi maps" have user feedback mechanisms where users can report errors noticed on the use of their offline maps, but in not sure if that is currently offered by HERE. These feedbacks helps them to perfect the user experience and like "Waze app" is able to help notify navigation providers of new POIs and locations which are verified and then included in future updates of their offline maps.

Google maps also occasionally has some errors in perfect representation of locations which may be or not related to security purposes - I believe that the military will have their navigation maps near perfect. If I remember quite well, when iOS6 came out for the iPhones, there was a serious flaw reported on their maps where a functional bridge was actually marked as a "no access road" on their maps and people discovered several similar errors using that map.

Navigon and Tom tom especially are one of the regularly used navigation solutions in the US. I presume they have occasional blips in their accuracy and precision too, just an assumption.

Honestly I don't like the animation of that home screen "People" app on WP10. It looks nicer in flipping squares/tiles of the WP8/8.1 than the bouncing circles of WP10. I hope they still have plans to go that flipping tile way.

Yeah. It's a nice device.

Have you heard of the L550 in the works? Though it has some nice innards, but I don't like that it will have less screen estate (4.7" ) than the 5" of the L540. In that case, I'll take the L640 over it even though the former is older.

Oh man, with the official announcement I just read that ut actually has the 32gig,64gig and 128gig variant and with un-f**king-believable micro SD slot in addition, supporting up to a jaw dropping 2terabytes of capacity. Ain't that crazy?

And with the USB-C and Qualcomm fast charging with it, Qi wireless charging and a lovely Continuum support, it blows the mind.

And another lovely announcement is the novel MSFT "Surface book" which, well, poops on the Macbook pro and Chrome book put together.

yeah there still lots of work to be done before the final build...like the lock screen timeout, the celular icon unresponsive attitude and lots more and also its kinda hard downloafing from the store without wifi...

but the OS is really smooth and comfortable to use

Microsoft is ridiculous.
They keep changing all the UI and animations but we still can't see the new features they promised will come on the OS.
