Oby Ezekwesili, a former minister of Education, has compared Nigeria’s current economic situation to that of 1982 during the regime of ex-president, Shehu Shagari- and trends on that account.http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/10/blogosphere-nigerian-women-in-the-news/ 5 Likes 3 Shares |

When you and your BBOG group were kicking GEJ out of aso rock, you never thought that the economy will ever take a nosedive or mouthdive. What should be of prime importance to her should be the safe rescue of the chibok girls and not the issue of the ecomomy, PMB will take care of that. 224 Likes 18 Shares |

True. But this is what I think could help. Permit me to repeat my post on the 'Benue Staff Protest' thread, this morning. This, though over flocked over the years does not just seem to have earned the treatment it deserves: "...Moreover, all parties must be prepared to make sacrifices, both the political office holders and the civil servants. If they can't get all their salaries, they have to make do with part of it. However, It is foolish for States Chief Executives to rely on what ever allocation they are given by the Federal Government of Nigeria. Same way, it is also foolishness for the Federal government to continue rely on the revenue from oil. Over the years, it wasn't enough, is it now that we are 'rescued' by the dwindling oil prices that it will be enough? Rescued in the sense that the global decline in the value of oil has presented us with a golden opportunity to start looking inwards with a view to developing several other sectors of the economy which have laid fallow, untapped and abandoned over the years. State governors must rise up 'dakkada' and see to it that in a few years time, they won't depend on Federal Allocation. Again, this is the reason while some of us think, all natural resources in different states should be controlled by the states that have them, then some percentage of what they generate from there would be paid to the Federal Government. If Nigeria and indeed, Africa must be self-sufficient, then we must practice true federalism. With this, one bleached-skin man in the name of Donald Trump or whatever, will not vomit poo about us in a century from now. #operationlookinwards 21 Likes 1 Share |

DickDastardly: Don't abuse the woman, no need. Do you know why you should not? I belong to that category of people the ignorant call 'wailing wallers' But very soon, we will be vindicated. Or should I have said, we are already vindicated. And at the end too, we shall be absolved of all blames. Suffice to draw your attention to the fact that recent 'body languages' (events) on our national stage have proven that the problem of Nigeria is NOT PDP and not APC, too. Recent events at both the Senate and House of Reps have illuminated this fact. Even the not-too-eventful leadership offered by President Buhari (the executive Arm) and the inconsistent, incoherent and twisted rullings by the judiciary also lay credence to the fact that no man or arm is above board. Not one. Forget the utopian promises APC made, they were all votes-attracting sugar-coated talks 150 Likes 21 Shares |

OUR POLICIES MAY HURT SOME BUSINESSES IN THE SHORT TERM, BUT THEY'RE RIGHT FOR THE NATIONAL ECONOMY - BUHARI President Muhammadu Buhari said Wednesday in New Delhi that despite the fall in oil prices, his Administration remains fully committed to maintaining macro-economic stability and improving investor confidence in Nigeria. At an interactive session with Chief Executives of Indian companies with interests in Nigeria, President Buhari expressed the belief that with its abundance of human and material resources, the Nigerian economy does not have to suffer unduly from low oil prices, despite its severe impact on government revenues. "What is required of us, to which we are strongly committed, is the implementation of tight expenditure controls, effective fiscal and monetary policies, including the husbandry of scarce resources which our introduction of the Single Treasury Account has began to address. "We are aware some of these measures may hurt operations of some businesses in the short term, but we believe they are right for a sustainable economy," the President said. Noting that India has been a dependable ally and friend of Nigeria, President Buhari urged the Chief Executives to expand their companies' investments in Nigeria "so that we can, together, turn our engagements into a win-win situation for our two countries". "We can increase and diversify the current volume of our bilateral trade beyond US$16.36 billion, and diversify to other critical sectors such as agriculture; green technologies in power generation; infrastructure; information and communications technologies; the services sector; education; industry, especially textiles and solid minerals among others," the President told them. President Buhari also urged the Indian CEOs, to accept the changes in policy being introduced by his administration and observe all extant Nigerian laws in running their business in the country. He warned, particularly, that his administration will not tolerate the importation of sub-standard goods, especially foods and medicines, into Nigeria. 10 Likes 2 Shares |

Wailers can be so f**king irritating. Who is to be blamed for our current economic woes, GEJ( in charge for 5 years of oil boom) or PMB ( inherited a messed up economy as price of oil crash)? If the once acclaimed biggest economy in Africa can crash within few months, then something is definitely wrong with NOI & GEJ. 11 Likes 1 Share |

Tycoflu: You are saying for sure that oil boom in Nigeria lasted for five years and that since the exploration of oil in the country for over 40 years now, the revenue from oil and the economy on ground b4 Goodluck Jonathan was commensurate, and that Goodluck Jonathan didn't add a dint to our economy to move it forward? FOR SURE? 98 Likes 7 Shares |

It is me that suppose to kick your balls for your comment. Madam Oby and his group saved Nigeria from shame. GEJ never believed some girls were missing despite the fact that the raiding was written bold everywhere. So if not OBY and her BBOG what do you think Malala of GEJ great granddaughter age will be saying. I be die hard APC and I won't abuse the woman for saying the truth and everything should not be looking from opposition angle. PMB need to get it right and that is all. SirJeffry: 3 Likes |

You can't solve a problem if you can't first admit that you have a problem Nigeria's worst problem now is that we won't admit we have a problem. Buhari and his followers won't admit that we have a serious problem in this country. 40 Likes |

My brother forget that and let start seeing thing from the right perspective. If I had the opportunity then I will do more than Madam Oby. I don't want to stress myself earlier about how GEJ wasted the lives of the Chibok girls but God alone will judge him. Anyone who tells GEJ of then the truth will be tagged as his enemy. He got problem with OBJ then when the elderly state men was trying to call to his attention about his lapses on security matters. He was advised to tighten our border security then when Mohammed Ghadaffi incident happened in Libya and instead of that his busy doing nonsense. Oby can say anything to PMB since it is for the betterment of our beloved Nigeria it is fully allowed. Charliewyt: 3 Likes 1 Share |

Charliewyt:this has nothing to do with BBOG. Jonas' level of clue was an all round thing and so affected security, economy, health, education and more. How are we even surviving if during Jona's time oil sold $100/barrel and we had well over 60% reccurent bills. How are we even able to pay those bills at $45/barrel? Think and realise Buhari is already working. Stop being bitter. 4 Likes |
