I was at the OIS Services office on Monday at Fleet Street, Central London and they told everyone there that the deadline for Bank customer livining abroad has been extended to December 31st and on their website http://oisservices.com/bvn.php, they are still Accepting appointment as it is now and in fact the appointment I made 2 weeks ago is scheduled for 20th of November . I asked 2 of their staffs out there and they both told me the same thing.

mate, do you have their number? i tried to book an appointment it seems the slots are filled already.

Very well then, with ur eco bank atm card, go to an ecobank atm machine. Once u input ur pin, from the first options, lookout for "LINKBVN"
Although i dont know if it will be dsame with eco, cause it was gtb i linked.

I went to Ecobank to link my BVN. They refused to collect my National ID card. Rather, they wanted voters card or student Id. Had to withdraw! Their loss!

It is only in Nigeria that they give deadline for stuffs like this.

Simple thing that should always be a continuous stuff cause evidently new bank customers would obviously have to enroll so what's the deadline for.

This is country and Shallow insights. It is criminal and financial fraud to deactivate accounts with money still in them.

It is only in Nigeria we have silly ignorants like you who can obey SIMPLE RULES!
The only thing you understand is FORCE!
grin grin

That account, even if it has one Billion, will still be "locked" .... until you develop sense and come around to explain why you cant obey simple instruction.

Only Criminals like you develop cold feet, when the system is getting sanitized.

I just tire ooo...after I have paid 50 usd for mine,[/b]they told me that I will receive the BVN within 48 hours(via my email or sms),I waited for 5 days without receiving anything...I went back at the OIS company at the 6th day and they provided the number for me.
It's just business as usual for 9ja and I think this exercise will someday vanish from existence.

I hope you are not being SCAMMED?

There are designated locations overseas where you can be enrolled.

All you need to do is book an appointment online.

Enrolment is ongoing in the UK, US, China, Italy, Australia, Canada and South Africa.

That is curious. National ID card is a valid form of ID for "Know Your Customer" (KYC) purposes. Maybe that is their own policy.

Seems CEOs and CBN have same mentality as the dullards "ruining" the country for the past 40 years.

In a sane country the BVN process would be continuous and anytime a transaction takes place at a bank branch the information is captured.

In no time at all, everyone that operates a bank account will have the information registered.

I hope all this "information" does not go under the rug of not being used like all the IDs and various money chopping exercises common in Naija.

Okay, l understand that some have sub-contracted the services out to those who are now charging money for it.

But l am looking at it from the "point of view of the CBN" which says it is FREE!

Honestly, what are they charging us for?
What does it cost the bank, in any of its branches, whether in Nigeria or Diaspora....to take a customer's Biometrics?

.....that they are charging $50 for?
That is why l called it a SCAM!

I wonder who owns OIS - the company collecting $45 for BVN services outside of Nigeria. I won't be surprised if it is owned by a person connected to a high ranking government official.

Their web site is cheesy and some of the links don't work so probably some Naija Government involvement.

It was quickly put together because "Food don come"! grin grin grin grin

If you dig deeper, you will realize it was registered and set-up a few days before the BVN deadline was announced.

Govt officials know the policy they want to push.... they simply use one of their "fronts" to register a company that would benefit from that same policy.\

Such schemes were very common in the oil industry

I even noticed the same thing in a Secondary School of my lil'cousin when the Principal pushed out a policy that involved parents coughing out money and it was his crony who got the contract grin grin grin

i think the guy need to differentiate between national id card and nimc slip. people can be naive about the difference sometimes.

Nobody can deactivate anybody's account

U mean someone who open an account and has been servicing it over the years will have same account deactivated for not doing BVN; an exercise to verify the information the account owner already gave while opening the account? How is that possible?

Nigeria with population of 170million as at 1999 census count, only 20.8million have bank accounts(?). I am beginning to doubt if we are up to 100 million.
