Suspected ritualists dump woman’s corpse at Ogun refuse site

The body of a 23-year-old lady has been dumped at a dump site at the Olomoore junction in Abeokuta metropolis, with some persons of the body already removed.

The victim’s name was given as Sitira, and said to be an apprentice hairdresser.

Before her tragic death, she was said to have completed her apprenticeship and was preparing for her freedom.

Some residents of the area believed that she was a victim of ritualists.

It was gathered that Sitira’s corpse was allegedly thrown off a moving jeep at the Olomoore dump site located along the Abeokuta-Lagos Expressway in the early hours of Sunday.

Littering the site were ladies pants, brassieres, camisoles, lip sticks, powder kits, and nail-paint, which suggested Sitira might not have been the only victim.

Some metres away from the spot, where these items were seen, lay the half-clothed Sitira’s corpse, with her camisole and ‘leggings’ intact.

But close observation of her corpse revealed that substantial flesh from her right arm was cut off, with body fluid oozing out.

Meanwhile, a middleage woman, Esther Adewuyi, who identified herself as a relative of Sitira, spoke with the journalists amidst sobbing.

She said the 23-year-old lady, who lost her only child two years ago, had been living with her mother in the Iberekodo area of Abeokuta North Local Government.

Adewuyi said, “Sitira was an hair stylist apprentice and she was last seen in their house around 10pm on Saturday night where she and her mother discussed plans for her freedom.

“Nobody, including her younger siblings, knew when she went out.”

When contacted, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, confirmed that Sitira must have been killed and dumped at the site.

He said, “We found the corpse in the area but we have taken the corpse to the mortuary.”

It was an incident that will forever remain in the archive of Ibadan and Nigeria in parenthesis.[/size] Just 2 months back, Nigerians were awoken with the story of an abandoned yard which is being used as a slaughter slab and guillotine yard by the men of the underworld, a mammoth crowd of youths had stormed the abandoned property and discovered what was to be the subject of discourse in both the national and international media. Men and women, young and old, sane and insane, living and dead, malnourished and marooned in a confinement not even fit for a condemned criminal were astonishingly found in this abandoned compound, they were all victims of kidnap for ritual purpose.

Consequent upon the discovery at Soka in Ibadan, other ritual dens in different forms were discovered here and there, a ritualist den was discovered by a fly-over bridge at ewekoro LGA on Abeokuta expressway, another baby factory was discovered at Adigbe also in Abeokuta, same goes for a baby factory at Akute in Ifo LGA of Ogun state, these baby factories are sometimes the “BLACK MARKET” for ritualists who either has money to cough out or the lily livered among them who dread the fear of the long arm of the law as well as jungle justice in the event they got nabbed for kidnap[/size], an elderly woman selling local gin(paraga and jedi) as a decoy was equally arrested at sango-ota for dealing in human parts which subsequently she claimed they source their products from the cemetery and upon a thorough search on her apartment, a human skull and other human anatomical items were discovered, Just when we thought we had seen and heard enough of this barbarism the news media is awashed with another rumour of reverberating sound of SOKA again in Ado-Odo Ota LGA and Ifo LGA.

Just 2 weeks ago, there was a report in the news media of a particular building in Ayetoro Itele Ota LGA where a boy hawking his wares was quarantined by some people believed to be ritualist and taken inside their house apparently to perpetrate their evil act, unknown to these men who pretend they want to buy from this boy’s wares, another buyer was waiting outside for the boy hawker, upon realizing the boy hawker had stayed too long in the house which report says it’s a bungalow self compound, and in a bid to test his curiosity and surely satisfied he saw the boy entering the compound, the waiting buyer outside decided to knock on the gate of the compound and could not get any response, he immediately alerted residents of the area who promptly besieged the building and discovered it to be another SOKA of sort. What a sinful world we live!

In addition, another unconfirmed story pop-up that some school kids were also kidnapped in an area called senukoro in lafenwa Ayetoro,Ado-Odo Ota LGA just last week, the kids were said to have been discovered in an uncompleted apartment in the said community. The kidnapped kids were said to have been hypnotized as they could not mutter any word when rescued by the residents. In a bid to do a rendering on the SOKA trend, I was dazed to also discover that just some few streets away from my house another SOKA was unveiled on the 20th June 2014. It strongly beats my imagination as to how men of the underworld easily perpetrate this heinous crime notwithstanding the level of consciousness of the entire population about their activities. I was on my way home from work on Friday when we discovered there was a traffic snarl at Iju hill by Grail-land, I initially thought it to be the usual go-slow mode or another tanker has fallen into the ditch which is caving in as we welcome the rain downpour, or at most the notorious danfo drivers and some private educated illiterates car owners had forgotten to take their psychotic pills and decided to face the oncoming vehicles from Ajuwon axis thereby resulting in avoidable accidents as we witness on daily basis, alas! It was none of these assumptions the traffic was caused by a detachment of police team and ambulances who were on their way from the SOKA joint to retrieve the bodies of murder victims. I didn’t really get the message at that particular moment until I got to the last bus-stop in Ajuwon where I decided to pick a grocery and I could see people echoing the epic tale of what happened in a hush-hush tone. Since I don’t really fancy the OLOFOFO style of gathering info, I decided to move on, but setting out on Saturday morning I was duly informed by an okada man that a particular area called pipeline in Ajuwon, Ifo LGA has produced another SOKA. He told me there was still a mammoth crowd trying to catch a glimpse and heavy presence of security operatives at the point where the dead bodies of the victims were discovered. At that point, I began to ponder on the meaning of life and wonder if some people really believe in the hereafter, well your guess is as good as mine, the desperation for affluence and get money rich syndrome has eroded the values we place on our fellow being. If the gods/deities have decided not to accept goats, pigeons, cows, white garments, palm-oil, bitter kola, kola nuts, salt and pepper anymore, why can’t the gods/deities ask for Ferrari, private jets, a mansion, gold/silver, and all other luxury of life instead of human parts and bloods? Even God Almighty does not ask for our blood for atonement or At-Thawba. It’s really high time we define how to restructure our security apparatus and establish intelligence resource centers across every community in Nigeria.

As a final point, if these ugly occurrences are not nipped in the bud, we might start to witness daylight snatching of persons for ritual purposes in the public glare and nobody would still not “GIVE A DAMN” (apology to Mr. President for using that phrase without his permission).

[/size]Already, Police authorities in the state have ordered full blown investigation into the incident which is causing panic in the community. Police sources said the headless body of the deceased was found along old Ogbagi/Arigidi Akoko road at about 9pm on Saturday. It was gathered that the deceased body, between 25 to 30 years, was discovered by a passerby who raised alarm and the Police were invited. Consequently, a team of detectives under the command of ASP Ezeala Obiora visited the scene and alleged that the corpse must have been dropped by suspected ritualists. Vanguard learnt that photographs of the body was taken after which the corpse was removed and deposited at the specialist hospital mortuary in Ikare. Contacted, the police image maker in the state, Wole Ogodo, confirmed the incident, saying: “The Policemen at Irun Akoko division were hinted on Saturday morning that there was an headless body of a lady whose name and address are yet to be known and suspected to be between 25 to 30 years of age lying along Old Ogbagi/Arigidi Akoko road.” Ogodo said investigation is on to unveil those behind the dastardly act.

The Igbos have not excelled more than Yoruba people in any kind of business at an advanced level, with the exception of the long haul coach and bus business. In the transportation business generally how many igbo people own the largest private airport on the African continent like Wale Babalakin. Tell me the Igbos that are mega industrialists like Folawiyo, Okoya, Adedoyin, Akindele and Awosika. Of the 10 leading banks in Nigeria, 8 of them used to have yoruba people as shareholders with the controlling interest, until Sanusi Lamido Sanusi launched his campaign. Today, four are still owned by Yoruba people and only one by an Igbo. Telecoms, one Ijebu businessman built a massive telecoms company single handedly. No Igbo man can boast of such. The first four leading oil distributors are Yoruba. Of the 10 leading Nigerian businessmen, 6 are Yoruba. The highest indigenous employers of labour are Yoruba people. Look at all the companies in Ikeja- they were all invited by the Western Region Government in the First Republic. If Igbos leave Lagos today, these companies will still hold high in their elegant skyscrapers. Igbos can’t hold Lagos or anywhere in the country hostage. The stereotype claim is that the Yoruba are the agberos of Lagos but you will be surprised to know that many Igbos in Lagos are actively involved in the transport business, some of them also play omo oni le with their Yoruba friends and some of them are street beggars as well. They would have denied this if Fashola had not deported them.
Many Igbo people are on the payroll of Yoruba businessmen. If you go to their region, you will see GTB, Oando, FCMB, GLO, Con Oil, Nicon Insurance, Sahara Oil, Bicourtney all owned by Yorubas. How many Igbo companies provide mass employment in comparison? If you take away all the companies owned by Yoruba businessmen what is left? The truth, hurtful as it can be, is that the leading industrialists and entrepreneurs are Yoruba people and they built Lagos with their mega business skills. This was what attracted Igbos- the tribe of wanderers ?and gypsys. Igbos cannot even boast of business skills when they speak with successful businessmen in the Midwest. ?The Midwest can boast of companies like Zenith bank, UBA, Ibru and co. and Etisalat, They can boast of Arik Air and Aerocontractors. A man from the Midwest by the name of Festus Okotie Eboh ?tackled your most respected Nnamdi Azikiwe and shook his power-base as the financier of the NCNC party. I don’t share the view that Igbos have superior business skills. The business men many of us admire are entrepreneurs like Wale Tinubu, Fola Adeola, Segun Agbaje, Subonmi Balogun, Kayode Odukoya, Deinde Fernandez, Tope Sonubi, Tunde Fagbemi, Kase Lawal, Harry Akande and Mike Adenuga and not the glorified petty traders and trouble makers. What the Igbos are doing is psychological warfare. If their lies are not checked and set straight they will have a negative effect on the psyche of future generations of the Yoruba. A lot of blacks in America are suffering from the lies white historians have perpetrated. For a long time blacks were made to feel inferior to their white counterparts. Drilling has started on the Aje 5 production well in Aje field offshore Nigeria, paving the way for first oil on the floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel development.
The three-phase development, starting with two production wells, Aje 5 and a re-entry of Aje 4, will use Rubicon Offshore International's Front Puffin FPSO, which is currently being refurbished in Singapore.
The two Phase I development wells are being drilled using Saipem's Scarabeo 3 semisubmersible drilling rig, in about 300m water depth, with the first well due to take about 70 days before moving on to re-enter and complete the Aje 4 well.
According to partner MX Oil, the Phase 1 Aje development, in the OML 133 license, in the Dahomey Basin, close to the border with Benin, is targeting first oil in December 2015 and peak gross production of 41 API oil from Aje 5 and 4 is expected to reach 11,000 b/d. Phase 2 is targeting an increase in gross production to 19,000 b/d from an additional two-well development.
According to partner Panoro Energy, The Aje Field contains hydrocarbon resources in sandstone reservoirs in three main levels - a Turonian gas condensate reservoir, a Cenomanian oil reservoir and an Albian gas condensate reservoir.
Installation of the production manifold, flowlines, umbilicals and risers on the field is due to take place in Q4 2015. The 245.6m-long Front Puffin is fitted with a disconnectable submerged turret mooring system, which connects to the seabed via a submerged buoy and multiple leg mooring spread.
The vessel was built in 1990 and converted to a DP shuttle tanker in 1994 and then an FPSO in 2007, in order to work offshore north west Australia for Sea Production on blocks AC/P22. It has a tandem offtake mooring system and floating hose arrangement and facilities for gas lift compression for artificial lift.
Aje is operated by Nigerian firm Yinka Folawiyo Petroleum (YFP). The other partners are Jacka Resources, New Age, First Hydrocarbon Nigeria, and Energy Equity Resources.
Further exploration operations in the Dahomey basin offshore Western Nigeria are ongoing.

If Production from Aje alone can reach 19,000 barrels per day as planned, then Lagos will displace Imo state into 8th largest oil producer and sit at 7th spot, from just one oilfield.

They are not a statement that the Yoruba nation does not have unity of direction and purpose; they are a statement that the deep unity of direction and purpose that have defined the Yoruba nation for millennia are not being honoured today by many in the Yoruba political elite in Nigeria. Yoruba people are saying that their nation possesses very sound principles of society and governance, principles that produced order and prosperity for their Yoruba nation in history, principles that can greatly help Nigeria to achieve stability, development and prosperity now; but that many leading Yoruba political and society leaders today are evading these great principles and reveling in Nigeria's lower standards, all in the quest for personal gains in the corruption and chaos that is Nigeria.In fact, for most informed observers, and for the historian, the first and most prominent quality that is noticeable about the Yoruba people is their unique unity of direction and purpose. That is the dominant and unbroken theme of their life as a people throughout their history. It is the core reason why they were able to create and develop the foremost civilisation in the history of Black Africa, why their homeland (not only in Nigeria but also in Benin and Togo Republics) continues to belong in the forefront of development and modernization in Africa in modern times, and why their civilisation is the leading African civilisation that is spreading in, and impacting, the wider world in our time.This unity of purpose and direction is manifest in countless ways in Yoruba group life throughout their history, but only brief notes can be made here. First, having discovered, in their first town of Ife (which they built in the 9th or 10th century), that there was great civilisational value in living in a town, the whole Yoruba nation became more or less like one town-building crew building town after town for over five centuries. The pattern by which they built these towns was the same. One prominent person would gather a sizeable number of people who were ready to follow him, and the group would then plunge into the Yoruba forests, and travel until they reached a place where there were small primitive Yoruba settlements living fairly close together. There they would stop and find some way to pool all the people of the settlements together to form a new large town. Sometimes, this was achieved peacefully; but sometimes the people of the settlements didn't want it and defended their settlements, and there followed some fighting. The history of this long era in Yoruba history is very fascinating. (Read the history of your own town; or, if it is not yet written, collect the traditions and write it). Altogether, it is a history of a people driven by one common purpose ' namely, to establish centres for civilized life in the forests of their homeland. It was started by the princes and chiefs of Ife, but over time, prominent people in the newly founded towns went out to found towns too ' until founding towns became the highest desire of most Yoruba notables. And the end result is that the Yoruba became (far and away) the most urbanized people in Africa, with towns located at short distances from one another throughout their homeland.In each new town as it grew, there was quickly obvious the Yoruba nation's unity of direction and purpose ' the common Yoruba love of civilisation and of the beautiful life. The people of each new town immediately built a large palace for their king, followed by a scenic marketplace in front of the palace and, in most cases, a town wall around their town. Artists were recruited to beautify the palace with a profusion of sculptures, as well as murals on the walls. Every family compound in the town tried to imitate the palace in beauty. Then they built wide roads to connect their town with neighbouring towns.Hugh Clapperton, the first European ever to enter into the interior of Yorubaland (in 1825), after travelling through many Yoruba towns, wrote that the Yoruba towns were 'clean habitations', usually with 'avenues of lovely trees'; that the people'are fond of ornamenting their doors, and the posts which support their verandahs, with carvings; and they have also statues or figures of men and women standing in their courtyards'.The Yoruba people, he wrote, 'appear to have a genius for the art of sculpture, which is in great repute with them; and some of their productions rival, in point of delicacy, any of a similar kind that I have seen in Europe'. Yoruba people, he wrote, were generally well dressed and clean in their appearance, very much self-respecting, 'pleasing in their manner', very respectful of law and order, loved music, entertainment and gaiety, and very hospitable to foreigners.' 'all bore an air of novelty, cheerfulness, beauty, and grandeur, that I have never seen surpassed'. To support all this life of beauty and order, he wrote, the Yoruba people had developed a very productive economy in farming, crafts, artisanship, arts, and commerce. Altogether, he wrote, the Yoruba were 'an industrious race'. The roads connecting their towns, he wrote, were wide and well kept (often 'as level as a bowling green') and, in some parts, carefully watched by armed guards.This Yoruba unity of purpose ' their love of civilisation, order, and the beautiful life ' is continuous, and it has been demonstrated very powerfully in modern times. When Christian missions began to bring Christianity and Western education to Africa in about 1850, the Yoruba recognised the potentialities of Western education more quickly that other African peoples. By the late 1850s, there were already schools in many Yoruba cities. By the 1860s, some Yoruba were already graduating from British universities (the first Yoruba medical doctor graduated in 1858). No other Nigerian people produced their first university graduate until 1933-4.In the 1950s, when the British allowed indigenous Nigerian leaders to rule their people ' in the Northern, Eastern and Western Regions ' the predominantly Yoruba Western Region immediately shot forward as the leader in every facet of development. In particular, their starting of free primary education pushed them much further than all other Nigerian peoples. Today, the Yoruba (who are only 24% of Nigeria's population) constitute more than 50% of Nigeria's university graduates, and their region remains significantly more developed than all other parts of Nigeria.A Yoruba engineer wrote a book a few years ago and claimed in it that, if the Yoruba had not been part of Nigeria (and had been a separate country on their own), they would be rivaling the world's leading economies by now. That is the kind of thinking common to Yoruba people. That is their common purpose as a nation. Because they are a freedom-loving people, they may be fragmented among political parties; they may oppose one another viciously in Nigerian politics; and they may differ in religion. But it is almost impossible to find any one of them who is not strongly desirous of, and intensely dedicated to, development, progress, orderly society, prosperity, and the beautiful life. This, in addition to their intense loyalty to their culture, is their united purpose and direction as a people.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has demanded the extradition of a 26-year old Nigerian, Olaniyi Makinde, in connection with e-mail scams currently valued at about USD800,000.

A source at the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) said the FBI is particularly interested in Mr. Makinde, who is currently standing trial in Ondo State, because of the peculiarity of the scam method which involved remotely breaking into the accounts system of an online payroll company in California, Intuit Inc.

When contacted, the spokesperson of the EFCC, Femi Babafemi, declined to speak in details about the case but our source also said that the EFCC and the FBI have been working together on this case since last year adding that while the FBI would like to try Mr. Makinde in the US, the EFCC want him tried in Nigeria.

Amongs other charges in the 23-count charge brought against the 26-year old, the EFCC said that Mr. Makinde managed to manipulate the American online payroll system to deposit cash in his Intercontinental and Ecobank accounts in Nigeria.

“He installed malicious codes in several victims’ personal computers with which he fraudulently stole their bank information to steal $600, 000,” an official document obtained by NEXT said.

“Because of that boy, three FBI agents came to Nigeria in October. They wanted to see the person that could carry out this deal offshore,” our source at the EFCC said.

The accused, Mr. Makinde, who also goes by the aliases Olaniyi James and Andrea Bradley, recently graduated from the University of Ado Ekiti with a degree in Economics and is scheduled to take part in the compulsory National Youth Service scheme.

He however remains in the custody of Nigeria’s anti-graft agency which said that if convicted of the over 20 count charges brought against him, Mr. Makinde could serve as much as 60 years in jail.

Having none of that cock and bull story, the shop owner not wanting to take laws into her own hands invited officers from CMS Police Stations to effect her arrest; not happy with the kids gloves with which the case was being handled as two days later, Yetunde was seen again in the street, the shop owner then took it a notch higher by calling in SARS and within a twinkling of an eye, Yetunde was whisked away and has remained in police custody pending the time she would be charged to court.

She might be cooling off her heels and light fingers behind closed bars soonest to be charges for theft and burglary. Saddened by this constant embarrassment, Bose, Yetunde Akilapa’s sister, took the blame to their mother, whose clothe she tore in public glare alleging her that she once cursed Yetunde.

21/02/2015 will ever remain indelible in the heart of Oloko villagers as members of the palace guard to the community leader of Ajara Topa community in collaboration with a vigilante group operating in the area arrested a man who allegedly eats and sells human parts to ritualists, operating from a hole he dug under the Gbaji bridge along the Badagry-Seme border.

Joshua Akindele,56, who hails from Etokia Local Government in Ogun State [/size]was spotted by one Anthony Amos who watched him crawl into a hole under the Gbaji bridge, confessed that he had been into cannibalism and ritual killing for the past 15 years, after being introduced to the business by a friend who convinced him to stop driving popular motor cycle known as “Okada” which he claimed profited him a little, but could not sustain him.

He further said that he had been earlier sent to prison for 5 years after molesting a 17-year old girl.

Speaking with Crime Guard, Akindele confessed that he was the brain behind the incessant killing within the village using ply woods to hit his human prey, and dragging them into the holes before splitting their parts for food and business… with ritual buyers.

In his statement “I have been in this business for the past 15 years after my friend advised me to stop riding okada and to join him in ritual killing and cannibalism”

When asked how he carried out his activities, he confessed “Whenever I see somebody walking alone without being conscious of who is watching, I walk slowing up to them and hit them with a big ply wood on their heads after which they fall unconscious, I then drag them into the hole and use a knife to cut them into parts which I sell to some churches and some ready buyers who indulge in ritual killing for easy money, and some times when I feel hungry late in the night, I eat some parts for food.

He confessed further that he sells the parts as follows: Heads 7,500, Bosom 1,500, peen 1000, hands and legs for 3,500.

Amos who is a member of a vigilante group in the area alerted other members of the group and palace guards of the Baale of Ajara Topa community to monitor the movements of Joshua.

He told Crime Guard that at about 1 a.m on 21/02/2015, he was on his normal routine watch when he noticed him (Joshua) crawling into the hole with a rice bag, he quickly alerted other members who confronted him with a gun and ordered him to drop and open what he was carrying. When he did, they discovered rotten human parts; skulls, legs, hands, Bosom s e.t.c.

Crime Guard visited the palace of the Baale of Ajara Topa community, Chief Samuel Amosu Owolabi, who after confirming the incident told Crime Guard that he was sleeping in his palace when an emergency call woke him with the caller informing him that a man had been arrested by members of his palace guards in collaboration with members of the vigilante group with human parts.

Chief Samuel said he quickly called Chief Patifo, Baale of Iyafin whom his community shared the bridge with to accompany him to the scene. When he got there, he noticed a mob had begun beating the suspect and only stopped after he begged them to let him live so that proper investigations will be carried out by the police.

Crime Guard confirmed the suspect was in the custody of the Badagry police division from a police source who pleaded anonymity.
