Please mothers in the house, has anyone suffered from severe pain in both wrists after delivery? If yes, please how did u get rid of it? Asked my doc today, he called it (de Quervain’s tenosynovitis/syndrome) and advised i see an orthopedic doc. Pain is excruciating!

I have read all the comments . I appreciate every criticism and concerns. I won't reply all the posts so we don't derail the thread. I intentionally didn't mention names in the initial post because I just want people to think within themselves if what they do sometimes is right. Also, Some of the things i wrote ,i have been guilty of them in the past so who am I to point accusing fingers at specific members. This is a general reply, just to shed light on few issues and close this discussion:

1. When I say CLIQUES..... This is an example of what i mean, When you see your E-friend fighting another member on a harmless issue they shouldn't bother with and you can't openly caution them on the forum but you also goad them on to do damage that is a gang up. We must always be able to caution each other. Using a safe example @Anonymousmum is my friend in real life but one day i saw her on a members case here, she was goaded on by some members and so I jokingly took her up on the matter right there she reconsidered, we ended it and laughed it off. So when I say cliques don't think too far.

2. No matter how foolish a question is be considerate in giving answers. If you can't answer press the IGNORE button . Till this morning i get tens of mails from members seeking answers on different issues and some of them claim they are afraid to ask questions here lest they are torn apart. Are all of them agents? I don't think so. Until i experienced things firsthand my views about a lot of things didn't change. Let's take a cue from the "Canada Student Visa thread". If you can, please go there and ask a repeated question they will either refer you back or IGNORE you completely, after you have shouted yourself hoarse you will do the right thing.

3. For members who don't believe BULLIES and CLIQUES exist here, I may actually be wrong about that assertion. However i am happy that we have nipped it in the bud before it takes root.Going forward let there be nothing of such. For example, some friends here recently exposed an agent, did they do the right thing? Probably YES but further down i saw speculations that there is another agent being monitored but no name was mentioned . I think Such can lead to mutual suspicion and further fights in the future. To everything there should be a limit .

This thread should not degenerate, kudos to everyone keeping it alive. @Justwise i don't envy your job but when you see fights brewing kindly restrain the parties involved don't stay on the sideline and don't completely accept a single story as the truth give people benefit of doubt. IF you hear the other side of some of the issues that have been raised here you will wonder as to who to believe. Like i said on the advertising issue Seun needs to do more, there needs to be different levels of engagement and diligent follow up. There is no denying my love for this thread as such I will always weigh in when necessary.

I totally agree with both of you, flew BA last year with my first and the experience was way better than Delta. Delta doesn't even have safety belt for infants. You have to carry your infant on your lap when the fasten belt sign is on....

Very true, flew delta within America with my baby, I asked for an infant seat belt when the fasten belt sign was on, I was told no infant seat belt, I had to extend my seat belt so it could fit us both...

I did but during pregnancy and it went away after I gave birth

It's painful. Try relaxing the hand from whatever repetitive activity you do duch as typing on the phone etc. you can also put it in a small cast

#looks right and left#

So scared of asking my question, but strengthened with the fact that iv honestly gone through part 1, 2 and 3 of dis thread, and couldn't really pinpoint or rather remember the exact page to find the answer iv been searching for since morning.

#stands upright#

I beg, is this the correct and most recent site for the US consulate form to be notarised by a notary public? (Ds- 11 form)

Dis consent letter by both parents, is only for visa application for the baby? Or both ETC and Naija passport inclusive? Help a well read novice o, d more I read, d more confused I become

# Runs outta thread# covering face

To add my 2 cents for Naija visa (since I know u are not going to Atlanta) u don't need any notary. Eddy sent a sample letter and I signed on behalf of my dh who wasn't anywhere near me

For American passport however u need a notarized letter of consent if your dh won't be there

You can sign it down and take it with you but remember not to date it yet

Lol grin why the rejection? I didn't know Houston hospitals were that costly.

It depends on the hospital in Houston. Oakbend is cheaper than whmc and Methodist

Even within hospitals some doctors are cheaper.

You can give birth in Houston with a c section for $7k

Safe trip back to Naija. Kindly assist me with contacts to Naija visa office (did you use an agent? If yes contact plus & what's d charge). The hospital informed my wife she can now head to county for the BC and I need to see if she can @ least tidy up both US passport & Naija visa office after picking d BC today & possibly wait for collection next wk. Cos my Aunt took out some time from work to assist her but she is resuming on Monday.

@ Tobermom, hope your bags are packed, each weighing 23kg to avoid going to the airport and transferring items from one bag to the other angry even your hand luggage shouldn't be overweight cos these airline peeps eyes dey red o. Dey weigh hand luggages too. Leave for the airport at least 3hrs to your flight, make sure you don't stand on that long checking in line, follow the wheel chair/ disabled pple line lol. The American drama/ dream Hv been achieved. Safest trip to you and baby as you make it back home. grin

Bless your heart. Im actually in transit at the moment. Everything went smoothly for the first leg now onto the next. I know one or two things bout the aviation lifestlye wink. So was prepared. Thanks and God bless

I think BA is the friendliest when it comes to women with babies with excess luggage. I dint pay an extra dime despite the fact that my two bags were overweight.

Infact the guy asked me to check in my hand luggage for free so all I had was my baby bag

Another friend said the same as well

true. my mil and I had 15 bags (no laf o) and we dint pay one kobo. we were just "its for the babies" through out

Hi ozycy. I hv gotten d BC today and I called d passport agency they said my travel must be 2weeks away before I can be able to apply for passport. Or that I can apply thru post office to apply.
ozycy:

For Birth certificate, you just walk in and pick up the birth certificate with $23, your ID and the paper given to you in the hospital for collection. Then for passport agency, call 18774872778 and book appointment. It's an automated machine so follow instructions and pick appointment date and time.

Guess it's what the automated machine said when you called. Is it 2 weeks or 4weeks? I think it's 4 weeks, Since you probably will apply for Visa afterwards. I doubt if they are very strict on that cos a friend that had 3weeks plus applied in the passport agency even without travel proof or booking appointment. She just collected birth certificate and walked in and applied without any proof of travel . Meanwhile, this is not summer so there is no rush der by this time. Just go ahead and book appointment for Monday, but if you have so much time before travel date, den you can go drop it off at the post office. I think it takes about two weeks. How long do you have before you travel back?

Here is my cost breakdown at WHMC.
Hospital charge c-section $4200
Doc charge high risk $3300
Pediatrician 250 for 3days, lesser for vd
First post partum pediatric $75
Baby test at 2weeks $75
Anastasia $1200
Total spent. $9100 .
WHMC, I droff my cap for for this una price.
They ve so so increased their prices eh Chai. Even all their doctors have increased prices. Foreigners especially Nigerians (not only nairalanders) have bombarded the place eh. I can rmber the social worker telling me that in every 10 birth certificate she registers in a day, 8 are Nigerians lol. Thank GOD I ran to OMC this time and I don't have any regret. Just ranting grin
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 3 by Enyinne(f): 11:58pm On Nov 06, 2015
The doc don't want to deal with multiple medical conditions so he didn't accept me even though his quote was higher than d doc I finally used. Yes Nicu is quite expensive in usa, I had to take a steroid injection at 33 weeks to develop baby lungs to avoid story that touches. The Nicu quoted $1000 per day for baby and $500 for mother. So I just weigh my option as I won't be taking unawares.
Dentale:

Lol grin why the rejection? I didn't know Houston hospitals were that costly. It's unfair sha to pay high Doctor fees when one is arriving at 35 weeks plus. How many weekly checks can be done before delivery? Similar prices and slightly higher for Florida. One Doctor in Hollywood Florida that I called said it's $5000 for his fees alone, when I told him I'll be arriving at 36weeks he said the best that his office can do is $4500. The hospital fee is $5000. Before u add Anesthesia and Paediatric fees, ure approaching 12K. Then if u need NICU, u don enter one chance! Someone made a comment about expensive accommodation in Miami. No be lie! Imagine even airbnb can be upwards of $3000 monthly, let alone hotels. Its the winter season that's why.

A close relative gave birth in Atlanta recently and paid under 7K all inclusive for C-section delivery. Lemme get the breakdown and I'll share
