i used to consider Niger Delta Militants a set of jobless loafers until i understood their plight..the federal govt. come to their communities, drill the oil and leave without giving them anything..no portable water,no good roads and we are not even talking about provision of jobs..Oil spillages that the govt. refuse to clean up mess up their main source of living which is Fishery thereby making life unbearable fror them.this leads to hike in foodstuffs. Now you get a painter of garri for 1k.imagine Am igbo&i dont support Biafra Independency but the fed govt. is not doing anything for this part of the world..What we re asking is "Common Ammenities" from the govt. All the Roads are bad,2nd Niger Bridge is a Fallacy,Sectionalism is the order of the day..etc The Govt should address the issues and work towards True Federalism..Corruption is not helping Matters..This Biafra of a thing is fast gaining attention and the arrest of Nnamdi Kanu aint helping matters |

Oduduwaboy:that is the main problem. Will they all be ready to leave the SW, N and the middle belt to go back to their region? Moreso, they need to define their region for us all to see. |

In as much as i want freedom of governernance for IPOB,i want the region to please show a credible map of the section they want away because more than often biafra always include some tribes that do not want to be called biafra, this is part of why the first seccession attempt failed.I think it is not a crime to legally seek to secceed but the whole process should be clean and not be a scam. Please post a unanimous map of the biafra region and let the states included agreed to secceession with this the task is half done. For IPOB secceession there would be disadvantages to secceessionist, are Ibo's ready to abide by the rules?this is africa,i think you can't breakaway and still hold claims to rights in the foreign land, new laws would be implemented if not the host will feel cheated. Is IPOB ready to dance to the tune? |

Oildichotomy:Sooo...that I voted for Buhari, based on his anti-corruption stance, means I'm undermining the IBOs ?.I voted Jonathan in 2011 and if IBOs present a convincing person in 2019, trust me, he has my vote. I don't really see any undermining here....this is democracy. God bless the federal republic of Nigeria |

alablec:Exactly my thoughts, if they want Biafra they must first get all their federal lawmakers and Governors to support Biafra and Denounce Nigeria. Then negotiations for referendum can begin. If not nobody will take them seriously. |

Was this not the same thing I wrote earlier in the week that some biafran idiots were quoting me. Who in this country has had it good on the bases of tribe. Every region had opportunity to get it right when their leaders were there. Yet they did nothing. Who were the people that put those leaders there? Did the leaders drop from the sky or were voted in? I still stand on my word. Even if we disintegrate or do regionalism. If we do not fight the right battle. Nigeria and indeed africa will continue to be impoverished. See the way the biafrans came out to demonstrate. Isn't it foolish that they could not do the same for their useless leaders in power. Tsheeeeeeeew |

successinlife:The Governors and federal lawmakers of the state that wants join biafra should agree to it and organize a referendum within themselves. The igbos and the minority tribes. If the major percentage of the minority tribe agree to join and the major percentage of igbos agree then let them forward their case to the UN. But without the state governors and lawmakers to agree on this matter then the biafran agitation is dead on arrival. |

Interesting piece and I did pick up bits of history lessons from the Op-ed. Never knew Zambia, Malawi, and Zimbabwe used to be the same country. Ditto Jamaica and Trinidad/Tobago. The zoo must fall. Biafrans have my support. Freedom is divine! |

Britain had grip on nigerian as one entity shows clearly how decitful they can be,since after independance nigerian has had the worst set of corrupt leaders britain did not see it as any thing because they benefit from the stolen whealth in nigeria that's why no politician can be probed |

My opinion I will like a United Nigeria Base on true federalism, abolish state and replace it with region, let every region control their resources and give the central government 40% while any resources offshore should be shared 50% to central government and 50% to regional government while onshore resources should be 60/40 for regional and central govt. This is the only way to stop all this protest here and there. Together we can build Nigeria a country with diverse culture and history, rich in natural resources. |

We should think right because the way this agitaton is going, i suspect civil war, and if it happens it is gong to effect every part of nigeria and not just one part. Everywhere is civilized unlike 1967 |

Setaje:You missed my point. Obviously, the guy will keep preaching/supporting Nigeria with innuendos cos the country was mortgaged to the Fulani caliphate on a platter - from the day it was created. Why would anyone who enjoys that type of privilege want to lose it? He's Fulani and without Nigeria, his Fulani won't be as powerful as they're today. I'm Yoruba and I know Nigeria destroyed the progress of the Yorubas. That is why I support the revolutionary ideology behind Biafra. Nigeria was not created to be a proper country - the country was created to help in colonial administration, since all the countries surrounding it are French colonies. That was also the reason why Southern Cameroon, a tiny British colony, used to be part of Nigeria. Now, compare the two perspectives and you will see what I was alluding to in my previous post. |

He will rot in jail for a long time to come. Other IPOB nuisance will be dealt with accordingly. That Anambara Police Commissioner (Okechukwu) is obviously an IPOB sympathiser, he will be replaced by another who can handle these pesky ants properly.
