Shymm3x:Concerning the bold, when last did you hear a politician truly articulate anything nearing a manifesto he understands? The political 'leaders' of today have no single ideology and no depth in their thought patterns. Unfortunately the followers are no better. 2 Congo of rice is enough to convince them about the competence of a candidate. Its tiring ![]() |

Yes Awo foresee almost everything happening today. I remember sometimes ago;My mom was telling us that Awo warned the Yo-ruba not to follow them engage in crude oil business 'Epo Robi' that it's not profitable and doesn't have happy ending; he knew what our north-er-ner plans were. Since we don't want this thread to link out this is what we must avoid. don't use word of Bia--f-ra . Yor-u'ba respectively ,because whenever i type Bia-fra in the search column it brings all the list of threads where those words have been used. |

theV0ice:These folks aren't leaders - they're just opportunistic pilfering loafers put on a pedestal by illiterate and hungry followers. The leaders from that generation were supremely educated and what they went through made them competitive and selfless. |

Not SW related but I really like this news coming out of Cross Rivers State.I find it interesting that Lagos is partnering with Kebbi state in terms of it rice production...why aren't any other SW states trying to up or increase their rice production? ![]() Cross River, Thai firm to build Rice City in Africa The Cross River State government and a Thai firm, Thai-Africa Corporation have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the development of what would be the first Rice City in Africa, in the Southsouth state. The agreement was signed at a ceremony in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand. Cross River State Governor, Prof Ben Ayade signed on behalf of his state while Ms. Pantipa Dhangom, the Executive Director of the Thai – Africa Corporation, signed on behalf of her organisation. Since assuming office, Governor Ayade has pledged to make the state the number one rice producer in the country. According to the MoU, Thai-Africa will be the core investor, who will develop the Rice City project in partnership with Cross River State government. Details of the project as highlighted in the MoU indicate that the Rice City will have a solar mediated and automated rice seedling and nursery propagation centre, rice plantation with irrigation infrastructure and mill including packaging and distribution. The centre will also have an Agriculture Training Centre, whic will oversee the development of various economic crop projects including but not limited to oil palm, sugar cane, cassava, maize, soya beans and more. It will also have a full mechanised site clearing, planting, weeding and harvesting equipment. Thai-Africa Corporation is to facilitate international funding for the execution of the various projects. The business relationship is expected to attract multi-billion dollars investment into Cross River State. http://thenationonlineng.net/cross-river-thai-firm-to-build-rice-city-in-africa/ |

Ilekehd/Quimicababes.I've been hearing all these "we'll boost rice production" stories since Ade bantu was on dreadlocks and yet there's nothing to show for it so I'm not fazed Infact I can post up to 20 links here of this same kind of news If you want me to In other news Amosun Commends Navy Over Tongeji Island Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, has commended the men and officers of the Nigerian Navy for maintaining a presence on Tongeji Island, Ogun State. The governor stated this on Monday while receiving the newly redeployed Flag Officer Commanding Western Naval Command, Rear Admiral Rafael Osondu in his Oke-mosan, Abeokuta office. “I’m happy you are already aware of Tongeji Island, but we would not only need your attention and support in that area, but also at Olokola where we are having our deep sea port. We don’t want these huge resources to again go the way of Bakassi Peninsula,” Amosun said. While pledging his administration’s continued support for the Nigerian Navy, Governor Amosun said he is convinced that the new Flag Officer Commanding Western Naval Command is a thoroughbred professional and that must have informed his posting to the sensitive command that oversees Ogun, Lagos and Ondo states. Speaking earlier, Osondu commended the governor for his support and cooperation with the Navy adding that, “with Ogun now on the verge of becoming one of the oil-producing states, the force was fully ready to ward-off intruders from the oil-rich Tongeji Island.” The Flag Commanding Officer assured that “our presence in these areas would begin to yield positive results to the state and the nation at large and we are ready to partner and work with the state in every capacity to ensure a hitch-free experience.” http://dailyindependentnig.com/2015/11/amosun-commends-navy-over-tongeji-island/ |
