Pellegrini is a player's manager and not playing Delph upon his return to Villa would have been wrong, Iheanacho is not the only player he has to take care of. So like i said he at least played and he also created a great chance. We all know and love what Iheanacho has to offer but please remember in England he is a bright but unproven talent and it would have taken serious guts for any coach to inject him in that game because if he didn't perform the the coach would have been blamed. Please don't believe what any premier league fan says they change like the weather one minute they love u the next u are Brown Ideye, I think Pellegrini wants to avoid that with Iheanacho by playing him when he is sure he will perform. I also loved Pellegrini saying he is not a striker because Aguero is in another world and should be there for a while, to be sincere if he stays a striker he won't play.

No City fan expects Nacho to displace Bony and Aguero now. However, if they are both injured or unfit, Pellegrini has no excuse to leave him out. Do you think Nacho stands a chance in midfield when Sterling, De Bruyne, Yaya, Nasri, Silva, Navas and Delph are fit? The attack is where there is room for Nacho to prove himself.

There are other games to give Delph playing time. We needed to win the game and we did not have a striker on the pitch. Pellegrini chose to rotate Sterling and Be Bruyne upfront and they were wasteful.

So why did he choose to play Delph at the time we needed a goal and chose to remove a proven goal scorer/creator in the sauad Yaya Toure.

The only striker on the bench was Nacho. With Aguero and Bony out. Logically, bringing Delph in was not going to vie us a goal.

I repeat, I respect the man so much but if he continues this ridiculous stuff, then there is no need keeping promising talents in the club. We must not raise stars. They should sack the coaches in the campus and stick to ready made players.

As for the fans, they are confused when the manager says Nacho can not play in the box after the young man showed brilliant movement in the box to win the game for Man city against Crystal Palace.
I can't really comment on him being a striker or not I just know he is a deadly finisher but when they say he can't play in the box they mean he can't handle the physical aspects like winning aerial balls and also being the hold up man, it may be the same reason Martial is on the wing.

You my friend are the least sentimental guy i have had the pleasure of meeting lol, the man(Delph) was their captain and this was his first return home, he gave up being a sure starter just to join you guys and boost your English player total, why not give him some time? To me it had to be done.

I just feel Pellegrini doesn't want to use Iheanacho to step on toes, city was number 1 on the log and bringing in Iheanacho with full force would make it seem like there was something wrong with the player he replaced.

The only explanation I buy is that Pellegrini does not want to heap pressure on Nacho this season. He wants him to play as a young boy learning the game.

Like I said, the man is highly experienced in this kind of thing. I feel our title chase is a priority and top young talents are watching how Pellegrini handles Nacho.

Every young talented boy wants to play and with the kind of facility we have on ground, many of them will want to come to City.

If they see Nacho get his rightful chance, they will come to City and that move on Sunday did not help in that perspective.

As for Delph. I have nothing against the guy. I just felt we needed an attacking change and Nacho would have brought that to the field. As soon as Nacho came on, it was clear he brought directness to our attack.

I will let this slide but I hope Pellegrini does not do it again. If we were winning, he has the right to give Delph playing time. At that time, 0-0, we needed an attacker and not a central midfielder.

If Kelechi Iheanacho was a man united player, Van Gaal would have used him in that second striker role just as he tried doing with Januzaj before he was loaned out,and depay at the beginning of the season.
But we take consolation in the fact that we have in our ranks,Andreas Pereira who was the best player at the recently concluded WYC. Inessence he is our own Kelechi .We shall measure their improvements with their various clubs as the season goes by.
That being said, I would therefore implore Man United to go all out for either Kelechi Nwakali or Victor Osimhem.
As right now we have proven to be better at promoting youth than City.
Januzaj Perriera Lingard and even the 18 year old Cameron Borthwick Jackson
who surprisingly came in for Rojo atat LEFT BACK when we were just 1-- 0 up against West Brom. Can you imagine...what manner of faith was that?
60" 1--0 up West brom brings in BERAHINO And LVG responds by bringing in an 18yr old CBJ into the LEFT BACK Position with Phil Joned still on the bench st that time .

No doubt vangaal has shown more faith in youth than any of the top four sides this season .The same reason why he has has refused to keep a large squad like our City rivals.
If Jesse Lingard has converted that volley which unfortunately hit the bar in the dying minute of our derby game that would have been the perfect advertisement of our youth policy, because he is from Manchester.
The GoodJoe tell your scouts to up their game and stop trying to poach our youth players with lucrative deals n heavy cash.(Callum Gribbin 16 and AngelGomez15).
Sources claim that at a point, clubs like Liverpool considered boycotting youth games against Mancity because of their POACHING PROWESS .

VANGAAL UNLIKE PELEGRINI ISNT AFRAID OF THROWING YOUTH INTO THE FRAY .
Even a certain 17yr old Congolese Axel Tuarzube who features for our U18s made the bench in the games against CPalace and CSKA MOSCOW in the UCL ....yet A much better KelechiIheanacho could not not make CITY's champions League Squad.
Where z Arsene Wenger who claims man united have lost their identity?

It is not just about throwing in youths but winning trophies. No doubt, Van Gaal is under less pressure than Pellegrini to bring in Silver wares but I prefer Pellegrini making the right changes to buster the team. I do not want changes to brag that we are pushing in youths.

I want youngsters who join City to have it in mind that they can be better than Aguero, Yaya and Silva. If they feel they are not better and they can not battle these players, I think they should look at Man Utd for an easy ride.

That is why I like Nacho. He is not scared to compete against the best. He believes in his ability and his ready to fight for his place.

When you play in a team with the likes of Rooney, Young, Smalling and Carrick, you WILL get playing time. City is more star-studded than United any day. That's like comparing Real Madrid to Atletico.

Anyway, United have not signed an African striker in over 10 years, it's not about to change. That's my biggest grouse with them and why I continually seek their downfall

As for Pellegrini and Man City, they have done a good job with Nacho. Under them, he is showing his potential and training every day with some of the best players in football today.

I just want Pellegrini forget about saving anybody and give Nacho a chance to take Bony's position. Bony is a top talent but if Nacho is better, Another club will always come for Bony and we can hunt for a new striker.

I will prefer us going for young talents with massive potentials like Success than the continuous spending on players. See how Oliver Torres is fairing at Atletico Madrid.

@Sir TheGoodJoe , @Sir TheGoodJoeHunt3.....

Thank you Sir, for addressing the issue raised on "Iheanacho and his continued growth at Man City". I really appreciate. **smiles**

Being a Man City fan, follower and keen observer, I knew you understood the "situation" and wanted to really read your views on it.

I've checked out the bluemoon man city fans forum and went through every word said.

My conclusion: I love what Pellegrini and his team of coaches are doing with Nacho development-wise. Nacho is getting better and better...... And long may that continue.

BUT, I sense a "subtle" fear on Pelle's part to play Nacho and see him outshine "the big boys" SO SUDDENLY.
I sense a "fear" to see a "kid" that costs Man City "almost nothing" come in and outshine a "£49million" Sterling....... He wants to keep a so-called "balance". Hmmmm....... Or maybe he doesn't want too much pressure and "responsibilities" on Nacho (funny thing is, Nacho can't wait to take "them on"....... He's not scared of pressure or responsibilities.... He feeds off them...... *smiles*).

And on him "sheepishly" saying Nacho isn't a striker....... Come on!!! ANY KEEN OBSERVER WOULD NOTICE "THAT" WAS HIS WAY OF "HIDING" HIS "MISTAKE".......

Of course Nacho is not just a striker. He's more than a striker...... He's more than a finisher..... (PELLEGRINI'S WORDS).

Nacho is a player in the "MESSI/SILVA MOLD". Messi is a forward who can play in the False9 role, 2nd striker role (or support striker role) , Attacking midfield role, Right wing forward role, and even the left wing forward role.
Silva does his thing in the Attacking midfield role either centrally or from the left (could switch to the right too if he so pleases).

This (above) is "WHO" Nacho is...... In a nutshell, he's A FINISHER, A STRIKER, A PLAYER WITH EAGLE-VISION "for that killer pass", An all-round Forward and Attacking Midfielder....... Nacho is probably gonna be Africa's first authentic "all-round attacking Machine" who can switch easily between different roles in "the attack" depending on what strategies are employed at any time in a game.

This is who Man City have in their hands....... And they better WATCH IT BECAUSE OTHER YOUNG UP-AND-COMING TALENTS ARE "WATCHING" TO SEE HOW PELLEGRINI HANDLES NACHO AS REGARDS "GAME TIME OPPORTUNITIES" (I'm glad you pointed this out yourself).

Anyway, THANKS AGAIN..... I ALWAYS APPRECIATE YOUR ANALYSIS.

And thanks to every other contributor on the "issue"........ Hopefully, Pellegrini's "temporary amnesia" clears and nacho keeps getting his chance.

And hey! I hear rumors of Pep Guardiola "mulling" silently over a move to either Man City or Chelsea (but Man City especially). He's yet to renew his contract with FC Bayern Munchen. Hmmmm...... That would be "cool" if that works out....... *smiles*
But I think I'm just as cool with Pellegrini....... But HE SHOULD REALLY WATCH IT........ *smiles*

Note: Still not a Man City fan.... I "fan" no club in Europe. I'm all for Nigerian Soccer and all our national teams (male and female) including Beach soccer and Futsal soccer........ *smiles*

I'm just "looking out" for our own........ But with a "hopefully" open mind.......*smiles*

Actually, it's with an open mind..... "Hopefully" is put there for those who think I'm in no position to call my mind "open" on matters relating to "home"......**smiles**

GOD BLESS Y'ALL...... AND GOD BLESS, SIR GoodJoe ( or GoodJoehunt3 )........**good to see your old account again** #smiles

The foreign pros will join up later...... *smiles*

But since we're not sure how many of them will be "truly" available....... 26 is a good number for Siasia to work with from the home-based lads.

Surprised Ifeanyi Matthew didn't make it. But it's ok, Players like Usman Mohammed, Kingsley Sokari, Bature Yaro and a few others are enough quality in midfield.

Besides Matthew is already CHAN-bound.... Though no 100% guarantees yet.

Good to see Zaharadeen Bello among the 26 too....*smiles* It's gonna be good......

How Old is the Etihad Campus we built that you expect us to have produced Nevilles and Scholes? After a decade or two, you can judge the project.

Your Peireira and Lingard will not dream of nearing Man City because they will not near the squad. Let them kepp competing with Ashley Young and Valencia.

Nigeria U23 coach Samson Siasia is considering drafting U17 World Cup hotshot Victor Osimhen for the African U23 Nations Cup in Senegal, it has been specially gathered.

Triumphant Eaglets arrive Nigeria
Osimhen set up a new goals record at the U17 World Cup in Chile, where he scored 10 goals, netting in all seven games as Nigeria won a fifth global crown.

A top official informed: “Siasia is considering calling up Osimhen and two other players from the World Cup-winning Golden Eaglets. The players are expected to join the U23s in Morocco, where they will train before the U23 championship in Senegal.”

It was further learnt that the two other players may be skipper Kelechi Nwakali, who was named the MVP of the U17 World Cup, and one of the team’s fullbacks.

Siasia has complained about his team scoring goals and only a handful of noted strikers will be part of the 26 players who will fly out for a training stint in Morocco.

It is believed Siasia is counting on overseas-based strikers like Taiwo Awoniyi, Umar Aminu and Junior Ajayi are expected to join up with the final squad to Senegal.

Kalmar receives £400,000 from Awoniyi’s Liverpool deal

Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that Kalmar FF have been finally compensated over the transfer of Nigeria U-23 international Taiwo Awoniyi to Liverpool.

It would be recalled that the Swedish Allsvenskan side had the right of first refusal if Awoniyi was to join a foreign club, having signed an agreement with Imperial Academy that would have been triggered when the striker attained the age of majority.

But Seyi Olofinjana and Imperial Academy reneged on the agreement reached after he was approached by representatives of Liverpool, and Kalmar were heading to FIFA to settle the dispute until they were compensated.

Based on the agreement reached with Liverpool , Kalmar have promised they were not going to make trouble as regards to the earlier contract signed by Imperial Academy and Olofinjana.

A partnership agreement was signed between the Anfield side and Kalmar, as Liverpool higher – ups were impressed with the way they scouted Taiwo Awoniyi.

Contrary to reports, this website has been informed that Liverpool paid around 400,000 pounds to land the signature of Taiwo Awoniyi, and that figure includes wages and the commission paid to intermediaries.

United Academy Ilorin and coach Olojo, who had laid claim to the ownership rights of the Nigeria youth – teamer, have also been compensated by Liverpool.

How Old is the Etihad Campus we built that you expect us to have produced Nevilles and Scholes? After a decade or two, you can judge the project.

Your Peireira and Lingard will not dream of nearing Man Coty because they will not near the squad. Let them kepp competing with Ashley Young and Valencia.

Sokari Backs Standout Golden Eagles For U-23 Eagles

By Izuchukwu Okosi:
The Nigeria U-23 national team can benefit from the immense talents of some of the victorious Golden Eaglets stars that just won the FIFA U-17 World Cup in Chile, midfielder Kingsley Sokari opines.

Sokari is one of the players listed by the U-23 Eagles coach Samson Siasia for the training camp in Morocco ahead of the CAF U-23 Cup of Nations which holds in Senegal.

Sokari spoke to Comple tesportsnigeria.com following the return of the Golden Eaglets team to the country on Wednesday.

"The team is made up of quality players. There's this thing we say in football. If you're good enough, you're old enough," the Enyimba midfielder told Comple tesportsnigeria.com.

"Yes they are good enough because they are all talented. I believe a couple of them could help us achieve our objectives in Senegal."

The former Flying Eagles star said the probable addition of some of the gold-winning Eaglets players does not stop their football education.

"Being part of the team to Senegal, suppose that happens, does not mean that their progression will be affected. One or two of them could be in the team. The U-17 players are our next Flying Eagles," Sokari added.

The Eaglets are expected to be hosted by President Mohammadu Buhari who was military Head-of-State when Nigeria won the U-16 World Cup for the first time in 1985.

Rangers and England winger Nathan Oduwa accepts call-up to Nigeria Under-23 squad

CAUGHT IN THE MIDDLE: Nathan Oduwa (centre) is eligible to play for Nigeria and England
Reported by Gary Keown

RANGERS winger Nathan Oduwa looks set to turn his back on England in favour of competing for gold at the 2016 Olympic Games with Nigeria.

Oduwa, on loan at Ibrox from Tottenham Hotspur, was involved with the England Under-20 squad at an invitational tournament in Germany just last month.

However, the 19-year-old Londoner also qualifies for Nigeria through his parents and has accepted an invitation to join their Under-23 squad at a training camp.

Should he impress, there is a possibility he could be called up for the Super Eagles’ squad for the Africa Under-23 Nations Cup, which runs from November 28 to December 12 in Senegal.

Oduwa insists he has not made a final decision on which country he wishes to represent at international level and can always switch, under FIFA rules, before the age of 21 as long as he has not played a full competitive fixture for either nation.

“It’s a very exciting time,” said Oduwa in an interview with Rangers TV. “This is my first call-up for my origin country, where my mum and dad are from.

“It would be a fantastic opportunity to play on the platform that is the Olympic Games and it’s a very good team, so we’d be going there to win it and not just participate.

“It’s very unique tournament. The World Cup is the best competition in the world, but the Olympics is also up there.

“Everyone watches it and to have a chance to win a gold medal would be amazing.”

Keith Downing, the head coach of the England Under-20 side, has been impressed by the progress Oduwa has been making at Rangers and was most complimentary about him when bringing him into his set-up for the Mercedes-Benz tournament last month.

“It is another level on, international football, and is maybe not as robust or physical, but technically you have to be good,” said Downing.

“Nathan certainly has those attributes and he has been more than comfortable at this level. I had no doubts about him.
“I got recommended him and I wanted to have a look at him and for him to come into the group. It is a nervous time for him because it is a new challenge, but he has done well.

“Nathan had a spell where he hadn’t featured for England for a while, but he has done well at Rangers and he interested us.”

Sir, I know where you're going with that..... Calling him a "kid" gives away "your intentions" already.

**when will all this stop?? Huh?**

Will the "kid" be singled out now?? Coz Oliseh is the one we need to assess not Nacho. Or yeah, you think a Sone Aluko would have "produced magic" without a Mikel behind him huh?

And uhm.... It's "fared" not "faired" **smiles**

Icon4s assessment ended when Nacho won the man of the match against a tough Premier League team, Crystal Palace. With Yaya, Due Bruyne and Bony on the field. The young man's time to thrill in the Super Eagles will come.

I was earnestly waiting to see him face an African opposition to see how ready he is for the national team. I wish Oliseh had given him more time. Ok, one game may jst nt b enough. Lets see him in d return leg.
