It all depends on your definition of dating.
Because if you are to go by the official definition of dating which is; a part of the human mating process whereby two people meet socially for companionship, beyond the level of friendship, or with the aim of each assessing the other's suitability as a partner in an intimate relationship or marriage, then, I must say I am kind of surprised at your answer, except if you grew up abroad, because there is a major difference between DATING and "kissing or having sex" with a classmate.
