So they v increased price of epidural? Tot it was $850.
Who did circumcision for $150 and how is it?
It's cheap compared to the $300 most Houston docs charge.

Have all your zero balance receipt and you are good to go. If you ve written to them b4, I don't think there's any need for that. I used one visa twice for childbirth even dou I got d visa for child birth.

Your writing is not clear but from the little i can deduce.

1. You cant apply for student visa in the USA,they will refer you back to your home country. If its that easy everyone will travel with a visiting visa and convert it when they get there. You either apply for visitors visa now, travel to birth and come back to apply for student visa. Or you can apply for student visa out-rightly.

2. When you are stamped in for 6 months. Six means 6. Anything beyond that is overstaying your welcome and you may be denied a visa in the future. There are exceptions to the rule which may not apply to you but you can study the immigration site for details. cheers

I don't feel it should be encouraged though, but it is possible. Click on the below link for one example

http://www.ccc.edu/services/Pages/International-Admission-Visa-Change.aspx

City Colleges accepts students requiring a change to their F-1 student visa status from tourist (B-1, B-2) and other visa statuses. Prospective students should contact an International Student Advisor for additional information.

You are very correct, i just read something similar on the net these asian guys on immihelp have been using this since methuselah days. There are two things the poster needs to manage though "intent" and "timing". I think an immigration lawyer will be able to help her assess those two angles when she gets to the US. Like you said its not a common route and i dont know if a preggy will be able to cope with the stress.

From experience you're both correct. I had a friend who changed to F1 from her B1/B2 a few years ago in the states (something that can never happen in the uk) .

Then I have another who has to renew in Canada ( I just don't get it).
So I can see where you're both coming from.

Eyinne n middyO E hugs to u both! I'm relaxed now , see me thinking I've been feeding my precious one poison all this while. But this BP in pregnancy is sth else I don't have this issue with my last baby n am pretty YOUNG Biko to be dealing with BP sef almost embarrassing lmao

My dear quit worrying about the BP and focus on a healthy pregnancy. I had it in my previous pregnancy and this one too as early as 9 weeks sef. Thankfully it has been well managed. Worrying will only make your BP escalate, try to take things easy, avoid salty food eg noodles. Here they have done all sorts of tests to determine the cause of the BP but didn't find anything. After preg it just disappears.

I believe you can change your status in the US from a Visitors to a Students Status. See below from USCIS website. However, you must do it before the end of your 6 months.

Change My Nonimmigrant Status
If you want to change the purpose of your visit while in the United States, you (or in some cases your employer) must file a request with USCIS on the appropriate form before your authorized stay expires. For instance, if you arrived here as a tourist but want to become a student, you must submit an application to change your status. We recommend that you apply as soon as you determine that you need to change to a different nonimmigrant category.
Go to this site for more details: http://www.uscis.gov/visit-united-states/change-my-nonimmigrant-status-category/change-my-nonimmigrant-status

Modified:

Oh Sorry, didn't know someone else had replied on this. Again it is possible and it is not illegal. There shouldn't be any fear on if it should be encouraged or not because it is not guaranteed that one will get it. My guess is that the case will be reviewed like you are applying for an F1 visa and reasons why you didn't file for F1 initially. If you do not qualify you may be refused and denied the status adjustment.
to the Original Poster if you feel you will have a stronger case filing in the US then go for it it, otherwise if you feel filing from Nigeria (after coming back from birthing) gives you a stronger case then do it from Nigeria. Below is from the USCIS website

If I am eligible for a change of status and file on time, will
my application be approved?

A change in status is not automatic. We will look at your situation,
your current status, the reasons you want to change your status,
and the reasons you did not apply for this kind of visa before you
first entered. Then we will decide whether or not to grant your
application. If we grant it, we will also decide how long to extend
your stay in the new nonimmigrant status. We will only grant a
change of status for a reason that is consistent with the terms of
the requested status, or where circumstances indicate a change is
warranted

Mine failed halfway during surgery, and I have not recovered from it sef! I have a persistent backpain that has refused to go away, dunno if it's from carrying my whopper baby or just the epidural *sigh*

Back pain is one of the side effects of epidural, and I hear it gets worse if you carry heavy things like when you carry your baby with your carrier. That was one of the reasons I endured labor pain cos of back pain in future.

My baby is 19 months I din't feel any back pain and I definitely carried a lot of heavy things including my baby and all my bags as only me waka go

So it's a 'possible' side effect not 'one of the' side effects

With small baby and schooling together? A lot of stress. I suggest that she should birth and defer admission till next year.
