Hello house, can anyone suggest the acceptable way to notarize degree certificate here in Nigeria for MSc admission in Finland. I applied to LUT last yr with complete documents(IELTS-7.5,Transcript sent by my University,CV...and my degree certificate stamped and signed "Certified True Copy" by a notary in the Ministry of Justice of my State).Unfortunately,my application was disqualified by UAF at the eleventh hour, stating that the "Certified True Copy" stamp was unacceptable.Kindly advise cos I don't wish to waste my money like last yr.Thank u!

That's strange.
Did they put a read seal on it?
Or was it just Stamped and signed?

Generally, 1 ECTS=27.5 hours of study work by student. In Nigerian system, 1ECTS=1 credit unit, so a 5 unit course= 5ECTS.

Sincerely, this is strange.
However, a notarized document should have a red seal and a stamp that looks like embossment directly on the red seal and a signature as well the name of the notarizing officer. This is how it's been done in ikeja notary public.

I wish all applicants success.

Thank you for the info. but the UAF application form says 1ECTS = 26 hours of study work. Does it mean that UAF is wrong?

Re: Studying In Finland (free Tuition) by Growingboi(m): 8:44pm On Dec 04, 2015
The recipient address is usually on the application form, if the school u r applying to is under UAF, u r to send all the documents to UAF

pls I need clarification on this, does it mean I can apply to more than a school or course .

pls another question; which is the fastest means of sending application and how long will it take to get there n the cost and any other advice regarding sending application that are cost effective.

Re: Studying In Finland (free Tuition) by Growingboi(m): 12:25pm On Dec 06, 2015
Yea. the fee covers all applications you wish make in one application period. i.e as many courses as possible with a single email address cox the email address is linked with the application fee. you dont need to pay another app fee, once you login with d registered email add, it will auto refer u to 'continue application' meaning that the email add has paid d fee.
As for d postal agency, am planning to by next week use EMS or Nipost cox UAF is nt a hidden address in Finland, documents must get there provided the earlier the better.

I don't know what you meant by hidden address, but I will advice that if you have the resources send "jejely" with DHL or UPS so you go fit sleep for night o.

lol, that's right bro, but what is the cost of using UPS or DHL n how many days will it take to get there because I plan using any one of them due to d fact that am yet to write my IELTS which am planing to write by 9th January and d result will be out in 13 days which will b very close to most of the schools' deadline.
I pray I make it oo

It costs around 14K to send through DHL. It takes between 3 to 5 days using DHL.

If you have good writing and typing skills I will advise you to consider PTE Academic instead of IELTS. For PTE u get the result in less than 5 days and you can easily send to the school or UAF.

As rightly said by my Oga Olabode, please use courier service in sending ur applications to UAF. I sent mine last year via NIPOST cos it was very cheap #300 and it got there in abt 8days but the thing was that I couldn't sleep as they was no way for me to track the delivery. Was only holding on to the words of assurances by the nipost official that it has bn delivered which I later confirmed wen UAF mailed me of the receipt.
