I got this from facebook and thought it is worth sharing

HARD ANALYSIS:

Divide your SALARY by 30 days and see what you get (i.e. the number of days in a month and see the funny thing about your salary plan).
For example,

(1) An average level-12 worker in the state government civil service earns NGN 60,000.
**** And this translates to NGN 60,000÷30= NGN 2,000 every day. This is LESS THAN the amount made daily by an AVERAGE HAWKER in the city.

(2) A freshly EMPLOYED GRADUATE BANKER in most NIGERIAN BANKS earns an average of NGN120,000 monthly.
***So everyday, you get NGN120,000÷30= NGN4,000 as the daily value for your work-life. By implication, this is LESS THAN the amount earned DAILY by an AVERAGE DRIVER in d city and in some villages.....

(3) If you are a FRESH GRADUATE EMPLOYEE in some oil companies, you earn an average of NGN300,000 monthly. So in a day your WORK-VALUE is NGN300,000 ÷ 30= NGN10,000
**** This is LESS THAN the daily amount earned by an IRRIGATION FARMER supplying vegetables to Lagos MARKETS, a TIPPER CAR DRIVER supplying sand for three BLOCK INDUSTRIES and CONSTRUCTION SITES just 3 times a day and DRIVERS of DANGOTE TRUCKS who have bought off the trucks at scrap value and are using them to convey products between villages and the cities for just five business owners.
--------->>>HOPE BY NOW, IT IS SINKING IN, RIGHT?
And when there is an ISSUE in the FAMILY that requires FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE, the DRIVERS, HAWKERS and the rest are looking up to you with a WHITE COLLAR JOB.

(4) If you are an NYSC MEMBER, you DON'T need to be told that:
*****NGN19,800÷30 = NGN 660 is your worth on a daily basis.

I hope you know that PURE WATER SELLERS who own a shop, a pepper soup joint and a small TOYOTA COROLLA car to distribute pure water to five restaurants earn MORE THAN you & WHEEL-BARROW PUSHERS working on contract for three warehouses probably make MORE MONEY than you EACH DAY

............

We shouldn't end at satisfactions from these earnings. We should be more proactive, create room for more income and strive to diversify our streams of income.

The earlier you wake up and smell the coffee, the better for you......

I know of someone right now who will say this is too ideal to be true but take your time and do this analysis over and over again, and you will grasp the crux!!!

STOP waiting for the Government to feed you, feed yourself and help the Government feed others. That is where we are in this age.

DO have an Entrepreneurial week ahead!!!

My financial struggles of the past forced me into having the mindset outlined by the poster, hahn. It's now a huge risk to be fully employed without one thinking outside the box. It's a monumental gamble. With a job loss or one huge financial disaster, one's thrown into hunger and deep frustration.

The information age requires an entirely different approach to the acquisition of wealth. One has to think far into the future.

I'll recommend Robert Kiyosaki's Cashflow Quadrant for anyone willing to understand this thread better.

Yes boss. the acquisition of wealth is a very deliberate one. The perspective of the original writer is one that should be put into serious consideration especially to new graduates and the youths.

I divided my monthly pay by 30 and it appeared very meagre. My boss, it's time to be more serious and deliberate with the issue of money. I just can't wait till 2016.

I visited a supermarket last week and heard the owner tell his son to grow up and become a banker. I shook my head and politely asked the man to tell his son to grow up and employ many bankers. The son's mother gave me a warm handshake. That's the new spirit.

The era of going to school with the sole aim of becoming an employee is long gone. We need more job creators these days.

While I know not everyone's got the knack and courage to be an entrepreneur, emphasising it will certainly create more of them.

Well articulated write-up.

We need to change our mindset in this country.

The old general consensus that you get a good grade and seek employment after school should be jettisoned.
There are a lot of creative minds who perhaps have not been enlightened and have found theirselves toeing the usual practice.

I think our government as a key role to play in this regard

This article is so wrong I dont even know where to begin

1. The average employee typically works a 5 day week or roughly 20 days in month. I completely disgree with the premise of the OP's dubious calculations, but even if the calculations were grounded in some sort of logic, shouldn't the OP be dividing by 20 instead of 30?

2. The OP also misses the point by comparing an employee and his steady income to Hawkers,Truckers etc with their irregular cash flow. Again I doubt the veracity of his stats with regards to the earnings of hawkers, truckers and co, but even if the stats were true, The OP still fails to consider that even though the Hawker could earn 2000 Naira in a day, he/she is not guaranteed an income of 120k per month unlike the Banker

The crux of the OP's assertion is Business Owners have the potential to earn more than employees. The OP fails to consider the level of risk that these entrepreneurs are exposed to.

For the vast majority of people, it is better to go to work and be guaranteed your 300k monthly salary jejely, than to go and out hustle with no true knowledge of when the next paycheck is coming.

There's a difference between salaries and wages. Whoever is earning salary usually has some other benefits. Bank employees and oil company workers also earn bonuses, grants, loans, vacation, health and other packages.

Wage earners on the other hand have just their earnings and that's it. Salaries are guaranteed while wages are dependent on revenue.

In the US most people prefer salaries to hour rates, which are just wages.
