Meanwhile, your baby never pop? hahahahahahahahahahahah!!!!!!!!

The stoppage of use of naira-denominated atms for forex denominated transactions is a cbn directive. so it cuts across all banks and takes effect on Jan 1st, 2016. so its not limited to china, uae or other african countries, its everywhere and also limits purchase online with our cards as well.
Re:baby....Na...still have + or - two weeks

Meanwhile, i just spoke to someone at CBN and MasterCard and they say there is no such policy o!

According to both of them (both unconnected to each other) a journalist took the Stan chart story and decided to make it a Cbn policy

Let's be watching

Good morning house, it seems baby would be arriving late, father is currently around but might have to leave before baby's passport can be done, would like to know how to go about the notarization letter for the passport as hubby is still in the US. Thanks so much.

Seems That notary thingy works only in some states. My sister inlaw got her passport in Richmond Texas last week without her hubby sending anything from Nigeria...and Another friend last year got same passport in Atlanta but the passport issued was for 2 years not 5 years and their reason was she didnt present a notarized document....Oya people with contrary opinion should start typing lemme learn.

read it again. the journalist certainly implied that it was cbn policy especially as he splashed Emefele's face on the front page. however, it is more of a starvation of forex leading to decisions by banks to limit dollar denominated spending on naira cards with a last resort already being effected by certain banks to stop this altogether. knowing Nigeria, there is no smoke without fire. soon all the banks will toe the same path.

Any lawyer that can notarized without date. Only a Nigerian lawyer will agree to that tho

Well my contact in Cbn and master card says no such policy as at today. Emefele's picture is not the same as the picture evidence of the circular I guess.

Also sent an email to Stanbic and they responded that they have sent out no correspondence! So don't know if olokings is a premium (or insider) customer o! Or is he mistaking Stanbic for stanchart.

While there is no smoke without fire, it's beginning to look like the whole thing is being over sensationalized.

Anyways 1st is two weeks away, guess we will find out soon - maybe the hard way for me, but I don't want to panic and change all the money I have left at the black market for $1 to N280

But really, how does this policy work. The ATM card is already tied to a Naria account and one is not charged @ N199 but at N250 per withdrawal so who benefits? its the same bank and cbn not black market people and one is restricted to $100 or $150 per day...So I think this particular policy is misplaced. I read today that Nigerians import 20million eggs a day, who sells the forex to them? its the same CBN.

To the best of my understanding the only way that works is to put unknown father on the birth certificate o!

Either that or she came with the notarized document. Find out

Hello house,

I was at stanbic today and asked how true is this story of ATM not working next year and she said it isn't true and they haven't received any directive from CBN as regards ATM. She said the only thing she knows is that maximum amount that can be used for POS transactions abroad has been reduced from 2k dollars to 1k dollars and maximum withdrawals at ATM still remains 300 dollars a day.
I asked if they have PTA,she said Allen branch sells and I can get from there but i can only get for some countries and she mentioned I can't get for china and I just said America and she said they will sell.

So for anyone who is interested and in Lagos, try and check stanbic Allen branch.

Hi. well, if "father" lol! is still around when baby arrives, then you do not need a ds3053 aka notarised consent form. he will go along with you to the passport office. however if he is absent when baby arrives, then he would have to download and print out and fill a ds3053 and get it notarised at the us consulate in lagos or abuja alongside a copy of his passport biodata page and send by courier to you. ideally, he should not notarise consent for application for the baby's passport prior to the baby's birth, seeing as at the date of consent, the baby was not "technically" in existense yet.although some people have done this in the past, but some passport offices do not accept those, mine didn't. although that was over a year ago so my info may be obsolete. lol!

@Nerf pls help with the cargo persons deets ooo....abeg in need of such affordable shipping oo... thanks in advance.
For both my kids, hubby never went to the embassy to notarise, we used a random notary public/ lawyer and it was accepted, though there was a lil issue with the date of hubbys signature being different from the notary publics date, but we were issued a 2yr temp one, whch we changed to the 5yr one in the embassy in Nig.

It does not apply to all states..we used a notary public here in lag and it was accepted in DE.
If they can't notarize it in the US, kuku wait and do it in Nigeria then send via DHL.

@ favouredgal I know of a Doctor in Georgia that has delivered twins vaginally recently for some Mamas I know. I was told that he encourages you to go for it unless there is a medical indication not to.
