Original JJC. Ordinary Nigerian hotels have card that you have to slot in before the electrical appliances would turn on. Omo oko jatijati.

Nice story. But, almost everything you said is as also here in Africa, if you've been traveling around here you would've known.

1. Taxis also run on meters in Senegal and Ghana.

2. I used the card lock at green horse hotel in Cotonou, Benin republic just 3 weeks ago.

3. South Africa would have that standard of train.

e.t.c.

yes. I never really understood how highly developed technology was in Western Europe till I moved to Canada.

UK To Test Wireless Charging For Electric Cars
"New technology is being tested by Highways England that could allow electric car owners to charge as they drive.
The trials are the first of their kind and will test how the technology would work on the country's motorways and major "A" roads, allowing drivers of ultra-low emission vehicles to travel long distances without needing to stop and charge the car's battery."

news.sky.com/story/1534209/uk-to-test-wireless-charging-for-electric-cars

I don't see the above happening in North America in the next 5-7 years.

hmmm.....

I don't see d above happening in naija in the next 50 years... they'll first sort out the dirty main road and our LaCasera n gala brothers will give way b4 our leaders will start telling us to wait for raining season to go b4 dey PATCH the road.

I studied my school map for several months before my arrival that I knew most roads and buildings in and around the school. I used google maps streetview so I was able to recognise some of the buildings when I saw them.

Brilliant!
First time I visited Tokyo I was like a f00l

I remember my first week in chicago. I was in a bus and i dozed off. The normal way to disembark at your stop is to watch out for the name on a flashing dashboard by the driver and then pull on a chord in the center of the bus located overhead. Somehow i woke up just before my bus stop and panicked. I started screaming "owa". . ."owa" and everyone was looking at me like i was nuts. There was one chick sitting in the back of the bus laughing like crazy. That's how i knew she was Nigerian. She motioned to me to pull the chord. God i was so embarrassed. It's funny now. It wasn't funny then.
This got me cracking real hard.

Hahahahahahahhahahaha my first week here he get one special way wey i dey take test how cold the weather is. I will go out and breathe out with my mouth. The intensity of white smoke determines the number of clothes i will wear underneath hahahahhaha. It was my supervisor that taught me how to read their weather hahahahahahhaaha. Amen and you too boss hahahahhahahahahahahhahah
Back in the day I'd open the window first thing in the morning and stick my arm out as a thermometer. Depending on how fast the cold sinks into my bare arm would determine the thickness of clothes I wear.
After months of doing this, I finally learned the ability to tell how much to wear simply by looking at temperature readings via the internet.

Merry Christmas all...

Life is a teacher, we all learn daily.

That is why it is said that travelling is part of education.

Well, it depends on individual experience and exposure even in Nigeria before travelling, like like the issue of opening door with your electronic card, it is same in many hotels in Nigeria. Even the using the electronic card to on your lights etc.

There are many big schools in Nigeria that you miss your way as a JJC too, then the issue of alighting from bus and drawing the rope on the top of the bus, most BRT use that function too. We have Zebra crossing, but we hardly respect it as we are always in haste.

By and large, it all depends on your exposure before travelling, but Canada is very expensive, dont waste your time on the converter .

Nice experience.
