vfactor:I've been clamouring for rationing of front page articles. There should be a framework for that. Yesterday I saw some needless articles. Yikes. I hope Mr. Seun is reading. |

sholay2011:Lol. That's how headlines in local newspaper where I live will say "Jamie's cat is missing" or "This dog needs a home" |

obstead200:Which hotels are that? Almost every hotel that uses key card to access doors make use of the electronics. Even tbd lest 5K hotels have those functions. Make una no dey make naija look like a village abeg. |

martyns303:must you degrade someone else for their experience just because you are too eager to tell us your own "funny" experience overseas? |

Phrankin:Uncle calm down, I am not degrading anybody, plus u just twist my story in another angle as showoff. I was simply trying to show that everyone had a naive moment. |

Afam4eva:Believe me when I tell you that the metro system in New York alone will beat any country in the world not to talk of the one in Chicago. It links the length and breadth of each and every county in it's cities. |

6fit:Please stop trying to make that a big deal. I once slept a 5,000 naira per night hotel in Lagos that use card for their doors. Most hostels have the hot and cold water showers now. About the bus thing, in BRT buses we pull a rope or press button to alert the driver. At Ecenter Yaba there is auto tap, and many public places do have it. Normally, zebra crossing should be for crossing roads so it's left to you to reason that they will be more developed and organized. Tho we don't have a magic button here. I just believe the difference shouldn't be much. I believe so and and Africa is not that totally backward na! |

sunboy:So to you and other like-minds, anybody that want to travel out of Nigeria must come from Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt and the like cities. What of those that will travel out of this country from Nnewi, Ile- Ife, Ado Ekiti, Oyo town, Nsukka, Ilesha, Bafo in Ogun state, Keifi, and other small cities and towns. |

Op, I enjoyed reading ur post. When I came to Germany, my study started with an international workshop. I felt like I did not come with good corporate looking clothes. I spent about 250 euros shopping for suit, shirt, tie and shoes. I went to this conference and the host was wearing jeans and t-shirts and some of my classmates-to-be were wearing shorts and sneakers because it was summer. I was so embarrassed and the money was a total waste. It was the only time I wore that suit in the 3 yrs i had it and have given it out because I outgrew it. Since then, I have made presentations at international conferences and always wore jeans. But I also had a bad experience when I returned to naija. My friend and classmate was supposed to present his masters thesis topic and since I was in school (UNN) to collect my certificate, I decided to attend. Could you believe I was asked to leave by the HoD because I wasn'the wearing a tie? Eventhough I was no longer a student. Another experience I had here was that I bought liquid soap thinking it was cream. Only when my skin started peeling did I complain and a friend who could read German pointed out the cause. |

I think I can share mine. Hmm.... Got to Charles De Gaule in Paris en route Toronto and at the security check, I was asked to take off all metals and given two nylon bags. I wore then on my boots. The look on and the laughter from the European customs, except for the black male among them, was priceless... Oh before that, there were so many arrows and I asked for directions. The man pointed towards a lounge. I sat there for an hour, then went for more enquiries just to be sure. To be sure I went past that lounge and took a train for what must have been 6 kilometres to the lounge I should have been waiting. Thankfully, my connecting flight was 7 hours apart.... |

The same way an Oyibo man who's in Africa, Nigeria to be precise, for the first time will feel like a JJC. So it's normal. |
