You are waiting for them to come out and tell u that u are not wanted before u go?

The people that coined the words, "Actions speak louder than words" weren't entirely foolish.
This is a corporate Nigeria and where ever anyone sees oneself is one's home. Where do you want these guys to go? Some of them sacrificed their homelands to be used as oil wells that were used to develop Lagos.

This abominable act should be condemned in it's entirety and not to be giving excuses on what the victims have not done.

I dont know which one to believe in all the stories, what you hear from lagos state government is entirely different from our igbo traders are saying. If its true that no notice was served or the notice has not expired before demolition, i see no reason why they have not gone to court up till now.

This maltreatment has further lend credence to the continued agitation for the sovereign state of Biafra and it's being documented.

Where do I want them to go? East ofcourse. Oppotunities abound here. I know cause am on ground.

Would you rather they stay there and keep incurring unnecessary losses? Not counting the insults. The other day some people protested with placards asking them to go home. You read the story. Some lost as much as N20 million. Others more. U think its easy to recover from such devastating losses? Some must have lost their entire life savings, maliciously rendered paupers overnight.

It would not be this bad if they were in the east. For every market domolished here, an adequate alternative was provided. You heard they provided 600 shops for over five thousand traders. Assuming 600 people take up the shops provided, what happens to the remaining 4400?

I don't wanna believe Vanguard actually published something like this!

Why are these guys bent on fanning the embers of ethnic intolerance in this country From all the trash they published about Nnamumudi Kaalum to those about IPOD, it is crystal clear what the objective of these guys are, and it is a sinister one.

This is highly provocative, totally unnecessary, and not in tandem with the tenets and ethos of constructive reportage.

That said, I was and still am totally against that exercise. The government needed to have given more room for the traders to evacuate their stores. Government must always be seen to be pro-people and not what is being displayed here. I hope to see these guys come together and approach the Industrial Court to seek redress to this highly unjustifiable assault on their livelihood by the government who ought to protect same.

If truly the notice period given has not expired, then these traders should sue the hell out of the government. That by the side, a 21-day eviction notice is just plain silly and wicked, especially when it is given over a holiday period when the whole traders had travelled far away for christmas. Who even comes up with these diabolic ideas?

You should know government doesn't work that way, I watched a press conference with government officials debunking this claim of short notice yesterday on AIT, they said the government since about 8 years have been informing traders to relocate which I'm sure Nigerians true to their nature will overlook but when the day finally arrives they will then turn around and cry.

I doubt the government actually stated the day the demolition would take place else there's no way the traders wouldnt have removed their things. There's been back and forth arguments between the market association and traders concerning the proposed alternative market. According to some of the traders, they were informed that the matter would be settled amicably and this was the reason they still continued trading in the market, only for bulldozers to roll in and demolish the place in the middle of the night.

Ibos failed 2 adhere 2 OBA OF LAGOS ADVICE

He said, “On Saturday, if any one of you goes against Ambode who I picked, that is your end. If it doesn’t happen within seven days, just know that I am a bastard and its not my father who gave birth to me. “By the grace of God, I am the owner of Lagos for the time being. This is an undivided chair. The palace belongs to the dead and those coming in the future.

On Saturday, if anyone of you, I swear in the name of God, goes against my wish that Ambode will be the next governor of Lagos state, the person is going to die inside this water.

“For the Igbos and others in Lagos, they should go where the Oba of Lagos heads to. When they were coming to the state, they didn’t come with all their houses. But now they have properties in the state. So they must do my bidding. And that is the bidding of the ancestors of Lagos and God.
“I am not ready to beg you. Nobody knew how I picked Ambode. Jimi is my blood relation and I told him that he can never be governor in Lagos for now.

The future belongs to God. I am not begging
anybody, but what you people cannot do in Onitsha, Aba or anywhere you can not do it here. If you do what I want, Lagos will continue to be prosperous for you, if you go against my wish, you will perish in the
"lagoon"

He continued,”I am for the progress, growth and development in Lagos, Ambode is highly cerebral, he’s a symbol and he is going to deliver the message which I the Oba of Lagos have said. And he will govern the state for another eight years.

“He is going on a mission and God will give him the wisdom and knowledge to fulfill that mission. Almost a year ago, I declared that Ambode will be the next governor of Lagos and it will not change - OBA AKIOLU OF LAGOS 2015

We need multinationals, we needs standard local industries, we need empowerment.

Governments should empower and patronize local manufacturer, I find it foolhardy that my governor obiano would give police man Toyota cars to the detriment of innoson who needs patronage and encouragement.

Yinmu. These people are perpetual wailers. Even if you give them till eternity to evacuate sef they will find something to complain about and still scream victimization. When T.A Orji relocated some traders from Umuahia due to his desire to beautify the state capital during his tenure, some of them still complained. Obiano was attacked by many of them for enforcing a ban on street trading. They must sha complain about something. I for one have stopped taking them seriously.

https://www.nairaland.com/1511842/abia-state-reactions-trail-markets

Excerpts:
... The traders, however, are reacting differently to the development. Some have welcomed the new market, in principle, but are frowning at the short notice given for relocation. They are also lamenting the cost of the shops, describing it as too high. Others have commended the foresight of the government.

What specifically is in Yoruba's past that makes other people muscle and put demands on us unnecessarily in our homes even when we have done everything humanly possible to be the best hosts and neighbors?

If notices of 3 years ago wasn't good enough for the traders, what about the one of 3 months ago? Or the last notice of 3 weeks?

The subliminal message from the ibos here is that, they want to be untouchable in Yoruba land. Ibos don't want to bow or respect Yoruba authority. We really have to push back hard now or we will go into the wall. What exactly are we afraid of? The world will support everything we do to protect ourselves.

Do they mean non of the traders in the market were allowed to pack their goods If that is true, the cry would have been deafening and the carnage would have been more than what we are seeing.
Another question is was the new market constructed within the 21 days the notice was issued
I didn't doubt those that claim their goods was destroyed, I believe they act like a typical Nigerian, after 21 days notice was issued, a trader still import goods and pack in the same shop that was billed for demolition and still travelled

These people are vindictive and mischievous with their lives revolving around greed, lies and propaganda! And Yoruba enables them since we can't stand up and smash it once and for all, we are the only people they do this to, they see us as their natural MUMU to walk on as pleased.

These people surely don't HV eyes to see the spirit realm.
I am from the water.
I also have air spirit and I must tell you that anything that will make Igbo's united economically will shake our kingdom.
Their star as a tribe is so bright that it blinds us.
They r a giant.
That righteous man sends giant angels to guard Nidigbo because of what they r destined to be.
We see the giant angels n get annoyed!

In the spirit realm it has been seen that in the period of waning of the religion of that righteous man up there, that the Igbo's, Ijaws, Itsekiris n Urhobos shall team up n work together n cause a shaking revival in Europe.

This though will be spearheaded by Nidigbo.

It is destined that there will be a major shaking that will make them go back home.
And so we cannot allow Igbo go home cos they will then become an economic giant.

From here they shall spring up n become so great that with their funds they will shake Europe with the message of that righteous man up there.

We must do everything to keep them scattered in other parts of this country so that they will loose focus n never achieve what has been purported for them.

And now that righteous man is forcing them indirectly thru Lagos govt to go back home
We must stop them.

Tell that righteous man to up the tempo...
