Where's the space? Most things in nature usually migrate from an area of higher concentration to an area of lower concentration. The forces that would resist that trend would have to be really strong like the California gold rush. Already, Anambra state is second only to Lagos by population density, Imo state is third on the list. What would make a non indigene want to compete over that limited space with the locals? A sea port? Refineries? None of that. Igboland is so densely populated that the people themselves necessarily have become exports. 4 Likes 1 Share

When some Igbo people say most Yorubas are ignorant and don't travel much, I take them like they are joking.. Someone like you has no business with contributing on this thread, this has really revealed the knowledge of all non Igbos venting their frustrated lives on this thread. Ignorance is bliss- asha80. |

Abuja is mostly Gwari (IBB's ethnic group). Most Southerners consider them as Hausa/Fulani even though they are distinct. 1 Like |

realjoker: There are reasons for this. One being that the Igbos are very competitive naturally, they like to be in the "thick of things" hence they leave their villages into other regions to go make a living. Most other ethnicities don't have this natural inclination and will-power. The Igbos don't chase people away from their place,it's just that other ethnicities don't have the doggedness to thrive outside their region. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Onijagidijagan: There are Igbos even in the remotest part of Boko Haram enclave but the issue is the percentage population. Yorubas are equally everywhere but lower in number than Igbos because they are mostly taxi drivers, tailors and herbal medicine sellers. Hausa's rank 2nd after Igbos in terms of spread and have higher population in the Southeast than Yorubas. They are good traders like Igbos and control foreign exchange, jewelleries, livestocks and agricultural produce across Nigeria. 1 Like 1 Share |

christopher123:And the Middle Belt has a sea port with thousands of federal government projects. Don't mind that guy, he is busy screaming marginalisation when there is actually none. The thing is that you cannot compete with the Igbos when it comes to buying and selling. Another thing is this, if you are a Yoruba man and you have a shop in Igboland, selling the same goods with Igbo people. Trust me, you won't be patronised by any Igbo person, because they love to do business with themselves. 3 Likes |

@Op Read sunnybobo post again and again, there you find your answers. Some Igbos self can't even withstand the competition in the Eastern clime talk more of a none native. As a Yoruba or Hausa man come Nkwo Nnewi and open shop for spare parts and see if you will sustain with 2 months. Abakaliki rice mill is open to every Nigerian, Araria market of Aba is there for you, Mgbuka Obosi is free for all of us, Ogbuete market in Enugu urban can't discriminate of us,,,, just show up. The cost of living in the East will make you not stay..... Read sunnybobo post again and ask many people on the street. Thanks. |
