LadyGuinivere and others, please what are the chances of getting a US visa to attend a workshop for six months, beginning on March 14. I'm 20, I have no travel history and I'm not a salary earner but my parents will sponsor the trip. I await your responses.
Take a coin. Pick a side. Toss the coin. Calculate the probability of your getting the side u picked. That's the answer about your chances.
I'm not an ifa priest dear.

What are you doing presently? Are you in school? What will the workshop add to you personally? Why 6 months?

You go do masters! You no tell me, after we don plan to do nursing in Ayinke house? Lady G

@alhajiwasiu55

Everything in this life is trial and error. Please go ahead with your wife's F1 visa conversion, if it works please come back here to share.

This is USA VISIT VISA thread! Emphasis on VISIT, if you want to go to US to overstay we can't help you, because we have no experience with overstaying.

How do you guys even feel separating your family? I don't even understand why people want to live the US life based on hearsay. I was there for 5 months, and as soon as my baby was born, na goodbye straight. She wasn't even 4 weeks yet when I left.

It's all a facade, the media has painted living in US so fancy, it seems like the ultimate. Lemme burst your bubble! It is HARD!

Coming from someone like me who has been earning salary from working one job all my working life. My cousin is a citizen, I just kept laughing at her. Work, School, work, work, more work. Infact from the moment I indicated interest in going over, she was super excited because she can add more work to her schedule while I babysit her kids. Her husband was MIA for the 5 months I was there. He would come in, shower, nap for a bit and out again, 3 jobs NA WETIN!!!

Now imagine being an illegal immigrant, the suffer will be too much jare. Have you considered the bills? I was just pitying them. They worked that hard to keep up with the bills.

When I will jst chill in my 9 to 5 work, month end collect my salary and enjoy my life here. My house rent per annum is what they pay a month. Nepa bill is a joke, compared to what they are paying. I can't even imagine that US rat race...

Except am a nurse with a permanent schedule. One job with fat income grin

You and this nursing thing. I don't even feel a thing with the certificate in my pocket. Doing business rocks my world. Raise up topic on business and u be sure to hear my voice. .lol

Hello all.. Happy New Year, Great work here Lady G,seyewest, cozybunch, nife(sth) grin and co

On behalf of my elder sister and my younger sister, the two of them no allow us rest.. my younger sis 28yrs running her masters programmes in EKSU,single wants to accompany my elder sis 34 years, married with 3 kids (banker) to the states for the easter vac

My elder sis initially promised one of her kids(her eldest,11) a vac to Disneyworld if she could win a particular (well known, recognised) national scholarship competition and which she won and she's got a scholarship to her university level..

question 1,is it really necessary to tell the VO all ds details as a reason for their travelling or she shd just mention Vacation cos this my sis already planned going to the embassy with all my nieces awards and all and ready to explain how she won each stages, from state to national, how she got 79 schools beaten down

Question 2,my younger sis wants to go with them hence made the suggestion to include my elder sis other two kids(4 and 2) in the application to make her travelling with the family justifiable as to help out with the kids.. is it really justifiable?

Question 3,my elder sis already applied to usa twice 2yrs ago and was refused,1st interview she was asked if pregnant and she said no which she was but she was either scared or nervous or I don't knw y she lied sha,she wasn't even well prepared..she went a month after well prepared with lots of confidence but wasn't even asked much, the VO just smiled and said "you were here a month ago"and got refused instantly(i guessd they sensed some desperation) in the form she's filling now,she doesn't knw what reason to write as to why she was been refused the 1st and 2nd time,we only assumed mayb it's because of the lie abt the pregnancy which is even obvious because she had her 3rd child afterwards and she's applying with her now

Question 4.. my elder sis had already been to uk twice with her 1st two kids and my younger sis dubai once.. my elder sis is scared that my younger sis lack of hometies(masters student and single) and travel history will affect her application the 3rd time while my younger sis is scared my elder sis's previous refusals will affect her 1st time usa visa app which she doesn't have any choice tho, once my elder sis is refused, her app is automatically refused cos my elder sis is her sponsor but she's scared if this won't affect her future applications..and if they feel my younger sis,a student,28 and single isn't qualified, will it affect my elder sis and her kids or she alone will be denied?

Last question.. my elder sis estimated 2m for the trip but at the time of the interview, she may not have up to that as her balance, does it really matter or is it a must she has the 2m as her balance or more?

Thanks y'all.. don't mind me I always like being detailed so you can help tackle the questions with better understanding
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by LadyGuinivere: 7:03am On Jan 10, 2016
1. #telldetails. Your sister has been interviewed twice so she knows the style of interviewing. Usually the VO sets the pace and the applicant answers. I see nothing wrong in sharing that detail. It may come up under reason of travel.Family vacation and to reward Adaku for winning the presitious bla bla bla scholarship. Me sef will be swayed by the little girl's intellugence.

2. Look at it this way. Your question is, is it really justifiable for a mother to travel with her kids. Of course yes. Yes I'm rewarding 'adaku' but I'm still going with obi and nkechi.I wouldn't really advice that the sister says 'she's helping out' . Let her reason simply be family vacation. Travelling just to help with kids implies she aint got a life. She needs. To show she's her own person.

3. I would advice her to REALLY make good use of that column. The refusal paper contains the reason. She can give a brief summary of both interviews and show she's upfront about her refusals. Brief o no be essay cheesy

4. Everybody's application is treated seperately or should I say every adult. You and your kids outcome are seperable from her outcome. I have seen here a father get and his son and nephew get denied so she had better not think 'its a family application' . They may most prolly be interviewed seperately sef.

5. #Funds. Quick question. Na who de sponsor the sister? Hope she's not dependent on the elder sis?
The answer to that is dependent on the general circumstances. Job, income etc. Vo's rarely look at statements and the vo on the other thread even says one dosent need to go along with one sef. So my answer is , I guess she can wing it.
Tips: let them read the thread and be completely honest during the interview. Also. Let the kids know why the Wanna travel. As for the younger sister sge had better be prepared. Her masters is a tie. Won't the trip affect her programme? Why does she want to travel at this time? And the answer had better not just be 'to help with the kids'
Peace! Make I go church mbok

Wow... Lady G may God bless u,bless your brain, bless everything that surrounds you.. for your detailed answers

Note: I am actually the younger sis, using sis loventina's phone.. I think I can relate with a lot of issues here

1. My elder sis has forgotten what she read in the refusal letter o,she doesn't even knw where she kept it,shes with me now, after reading ur replies, she's really looking through the whole documents she piled up for the app.. she really took it non challantly then

2. She's really happy abt the statement of acct reply cos this is the only reason she hasn't picked date, she thinks since we are five, the VO may be tempted to ask for the statement and she's happy with the fact that my app won't affect hers.

I'm totally dependent on her,i live with them and she's responsible for most of my fees, shes going to be my sponsor. I use to work before I started my masters programme but not anymore some of the money I saved is gonna be used on the trip as well

We are planning a 10 day trip during easter hols so it won't affect my programme and do I need to get a letter from my sch or just my sch ID will do? And we have our birth certificates for proof of relationship, pls what other docs do u think might be needed..

and thanks again for the reply that my ans shdnt be helping out with the kids cos initially the ans I prepared for that question is that
"i also don't wanna miss out on the fun from the famiy trip especially when it's my sis that's making the offer as it will even help to lessen the stress of she alone with 3 kids" (I feel this will justify why she's sponsoring me) so how do you think I can tackle this

the main reason I want to visit is just for tour and have fun and applying with them will be a whole lot better than applying alone.. or are you saying applying with them doesn't boost my chances?

Greetings everyone. If my visa expires on 30th April, 2016. Can I still arrive the US on the 29th April, 2016, that is a day before it gets expired ? And if yes, And also, will I still be likely given 6 month at the POE ?
Thanks

I have a slightly difff pov. The desicion on how long to stamp in is at the discretion of the cbp.what if u meet a winchy winchy cbp? So avoid stories that touch, abeg renew before travelling.
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by LadyGuinivere: 1:06pm On Jan 10, 2016
@motherloventina abi sisterloventina now cheesy
Now this puts a whole perspective to stuff. You live with them. You can only tell them the truth. U are a close part of the family and while u have been studying you have played a large role including takin k of the kids.
So u hope to travel with them as a member of the family. Pardon this analogy- If they give folks visa with their housemaids then there's hope for a sister. Its also good that both of u have done dubai before.
Just pray for favour because by strenght shall no man prevail.

Which case is more worst ? Falling out of status on F1 student OR falling out of status on B1B2
Does these scenerios carry the same implications ? Or one is worst than the other ?
Thanks

LadyGuinivere,Yesl am n't desperate to go @all and that's why i can't apply as family not that I don't have the money.@least av been working with the coy 4 abt 5yias now with good stipend and commission.

"De coy has like 9marketters, aside marketing manager,2administrative secs, front desk, accountant,HR and 2legal internal adviser because it's a well known and popular "Real Estate Coy"

Now,part of what circumstance that will improve significantly is my next trip to Ivery Coast and Togo for a working 2dega with a coy by licensing our certificate of operation to one "Real Estate there" We called it market extension. The journey will take-off on 18/1/16 had it being I was given U.S last year my itenary was 10/1/16 for arrival and departure was 20/1/16.So initially Ivery Coast movement was scheduled for 24th of jan.,but result of last year interview changed it and I must be the part of the team going for that licensing biz trip. May be with this,i can categorize it as improvement of circumstance.? Thanks for your concern and response in anticipation.

There is no column to fill 'improvement of circumstance'
U fill the same form You filled the last timeand the vo will adjudge I'd your circumstance has changed and if the change is substantial. Takr for egs, after being denied a visa one goes to. Obudu cattle ranch in calabar for a critical office workshop and u are given a cerificate of high perfomance.
Is that change substantial to sway the vo that you will return afterwards? I think not. So in the picture you painted above, the vo will still decide.

Dear Lady G and house,
I recently applied for a US visa to travel Feb. I lost my dad earlier this month so my plans to travel Feb to the US via UK has changed. I don't think I may visit the US the way things are going now as I'll only be able to go to the UK. I want to know if this will affect me at Poe whenever I decide to go either later in the year or next year preferably?
