The holy bible in the new testament told of a story of the Master Jesus telling his disciples that this type can be done by prayer and fasting after his disciple's unsuccessfully tried to heal a sick boy

Whenever you fast you bring you body under subjection to your spirit, which helps you to hear from God very well than when you are not fasting cos wen you are not fasting your body is in control

Jesus fasted for 40 days he could have just prayed. Let us not deceive ourselves because of greed and laziness.

Even though God answers prayers when you don't fast but still some stubborn problem(yoke) need sincere fasting and prayer to overcome . Remember when Jesus's disciples couldn't cast out the demon tormenting the little boy(Mark 9:17-29),they asked Jesus while they were not able to cast out the evil demon and Jesus replied in Vs 29 This kind can come forth by nothing,but by prayer and fasting.
Fasting along with prayers go along way to draw one closer to his maker by having personal communion with God.
May God give us more understanding of this word.

Just to add. I remember having this conversation with someone, and then after giving my own opinion, I made further research. And below is what I got. Which I believe explains better especially from experience.

Before I go on to my story; I want all to understand what fasting truly entails(for those that might not know)...

According to the scriptures ; Psalm 35:13 - "but as for me, when they were sick, my clothing was sackcloth; I fast to humble my Soul and my prayers kept returning to my bossom "

What fasting does is to starve your soul of any earthly pleasure (Food,drinks,television,sleep), so ur spirit can concentrate on God and draw closer, you pray passionately...

Well as for your's truly here; anytime I fast (starve of food) ; Both my spirit and my soul gets conquered; I can't even lift a finger, talkless of pray...

Moreso; from my beloveth scriptures, When we pray in his name in truth and in faith (We musn't fast) God hears us

My church happens to be on a 21days fasting program, and everyone is suppose to fast; but because of what my bible says, and my knowledge that God hears my prayer Whether fasting or full, I usually eat very well and join them in prayers...

So My question is; What is the use of fasting When God still anwers our prayers even on a full stomach?? As some only get strong for spiritual warfare when they eat?

Look at fasting this way; when you deprive yourself of food and other essential things of life the mind becomes so stretched that it can tune in to higher dimensions.

Fasting is not only for religious people. Even scientists go hungry for a long time so their brain can connect fully. Food clogs the mind so if you really want to connect to your God, deprive yourself of food and other essentials and your brain cells will connect fully. People who take certain drugs also connect in this way.

You're a spirit, you are not moved by what you see or feel but by the word of God, and His Word says you can do all things thru Christ, your strength.
