Travelling....
I tried explaining to her that am not in labour, just that my tummy feels hard and my legs still swollen...but her conclusion was PREMATURE LABOUR!...Anyways, I turned to the one who gave her to me, the one who will never make my TESTIMONIES incomplete, the one whose words will never go unfulfilled... HE says I WILL NEVER CAST MY YOUNG!!.

Hubby and I became comfused, my ticket was originally for today, but he never wanted me to go again...so I told him "Even if lo is going to come prematurely, not here...(we lost his friends son on the naming day due to premature delivery...as a result of DOCTOR'S ASSUMPTIONS). Hubby's thoughts were just to save His wife and child...we were really confused!!

We later changed my travel date to the following day!!....my bag wasn't searched and my food stuff including Yam and Palm oil escaped, to the glory of God, I traveled on Lufthansa, ABV-Frankfurt-Dallas!...with NO ITCH AT ALL!. Except for my usual swollen legs which gets me a little uncomfortable on the second leg, and Lufthansa crew were the best....I was upgraded from Premium Economy to BUSSINESS CABIN grin, gave me like 4pillows to raise my legs, 2 to support my back and yours truely Slept like a baby on board...and my legs went down...

POE
I arrived Frankfurt, had to wait almost 2hrs for wheelchair, was not impressed there sha. Fast forward to Dallas, wheelchairs already waiting in a looking queue, was wheeled to a CBP...

CBP: Hello madam, can I have your passport
Me: Hi...gave him with my Landing card
CPB: I can see you're here for delivery
Me: Yes Sir
CBP: sure you have a doctor by now.
Me: Yes I do have a doctor and a midwife, as I'll also love to experience water birth, so am still weighing my options.
CBP: We give the best care in this part of the world, so am sure you'll enjoy the care...so who's Paying for this
Me: My husband, to join me before the birth
Scanned my fingers and took me to secondary inspection... The officer called my name and asked where am going to stay as its dangerous to stay alone at this period, told him an hotelhotel (which we booked overnight), couldn't even print out, but had my phone ready to show them in my mail, and for the baby's arrival I have been talking to a midwife who is getting me a Nanny and I have our conversations here(gave him my email correspondence with a midwife in Rockwell, Dallas.
He then went Inside for like 7minutes, was seriously praying in tongues, because my words were Incoherent, cos I was really confused.

1-I was supposed to go to Houston, have docs appointment, and prolly enough cash to show, but found myself with hotel booking in Dallas, could only produce a midwife's correspondence, and with just 3400$ which is all we could get from BDC on my departure day....in a nutshell, God was really waiting for me here.
Later to Agriculture cos I declared just my dry foods, but they ceased my Yam...my yam wey don enter America already cry but my palm oil escaped. grin

Note:...am yet to see a doctor, LO is kicking fabulously well, i am doing great, but jetlagged I've not even rested well since I came cos I need to shop for me and Lo, trying to rest though.
So much appreciate this forum...in a way, you gave me the gutt to do this... grin waiting patiently for lo's arrival...if she likes let her come tomorrow sef... grin grin

Just like we call it here! Gangster moves!

Changing ur tkt was a good move. I think Lady G suggested that too.

am not surprised you got that advice frm ur doc. I met a woman during my early preg ANC dat came to register at 33 weeks. We got talking and she sed she is a doctor. She was using her workplace earlier till her colleagues told her she may b sectioned at 32 weeks becos they were not getting good vibes frm d baby.

She consulted with an older doc who asked her to go to a govt hosp for 2nd opinion and even if dey had to section dat early, dey had access to cheaper NICU.

Only for her to get to d govt hosp and after all d screening, nothing was wrong with the baby!!! She carried d preg till 40 weeks+. So I concur with you on getting second opinion.

Flying at that stage was a risk but I guess you listened to ur instincts and God went before you to make ur journey seamless.

Congrats! Oya rest small eh!

By d way 35 weeks baby don done finish na. It's no longer premature. Na only to gather fat remain

Dear House,
Any information on how to choose a good preschool? or who has used any lately? want to enrol my LO for 2 months.

Personally,

I felt 2 months was too early. Had to make some painful arrangements cos we didn't have a choice, at least till LO was 4 months. But on choosing a good creche. Look for the one with the least number of children per staff ratio, look at the ambience and the demeanour of other children there, are they happy?

I went to inspect one yday near my office, it wasn't spectacular but the babies looked happy and the older kids looked well taken care of

From what I understand from the lagosniv , it is illlegal for a non tax payer to enrol their kids in an american school
LagosNIV:

Renting an apartment or house on a B1/B2 is not illegal - but it is doubtful that you are going to find such a short-term lease. Also, you cannot legally enroll your children in US schools unless you are paying US taxes.

LagosNIV:

Under the terms of the B1/B2 you are there as a tourist and cannot send your children to school. You can apply for F1 student visas for them, but this is to complete a program. Based on the situation you described, there is no way to legally make this work so that you can go on vacation for 4 months and have your children go to school.

@LadyG , what if the child is US citizen and you intend sending him/her to a private preschool not a public sch as public Schls are funded from taxes

Its now a different ball game if the child is american.
If however the pikin na naija like me, both private and public schools are disallowed on a Bvisa. That's the issue_the visa whereupon they entered the country by. A citizen does not need a visa into the US so there is no illegality in that

Hello,

Is it okay to apply for B1/B2 but select the Medical Visa during the process of filling the DS160 form?

i intend going for birthing purpose.

They have denied me 3ce using B1/B2 Tourist Visa.

Or i should just use same B1/B2 tourist for my birthing purpose again.

what is the difference between selecting the Medical Visa/Tourist Visa.

nefertitiram:

Tourist visa also covers giving birth/medical.

She has no problems whatsoever as long as she has used the visa to travel for the original purpose.

When going for birthing, she need to get Docs correspondence and enough cash to scale through point of entry at the airport.

A newborn can be allowed to fly from 2 weeks, preferrably 4 weeks.

Above all, avoid Chicago point of entry and point of exit.

Good luck

Do a google search of the daycares closest to your US address and check the reviews/ratings of the ones that come up. Once you've narrowed down, call the schools and schedule a visit and go with your child, make your final decision based on her reaction.
Hope you have her immunisation records with you cos they'll ask for it.
Where is Florida are you guys? I'm heading back to Orlando in a few weeks.

B visa is inclusive of medical and tourism. Yes u pick B. Visa and click on medical.

How long ago were you denied and for what reasons?
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 3 by vcole: 4:37pm On Jan 20, 2016
Pre-School starts at 3yrs, Elementary at 5yrs for Americans. Until then, its daycare (or stay at home), which his LO can attend.
it is not publicly funded by tax payers and is legally allowed on a B-visa because she is not of school-age.
