If u choose not to tell him, he will find out someday if he "truly" loves you. You can't lie to a faithful partner and get away with it. That's nature.
If you choose to tell him now, two things will happen;

You'll need to tell him eventually but definitely not now , mistakes are not made that easily as you alluded , your decision to sleep with your male friend was a choice and not a mistake. Tell him when you feel he might be receptive to such news and if he decides to leave you take it in good fate. You will learn from this and make better choices in future , I hope.

Well since sex has become 3 for 1kobo i wont judge you but will simply give you an honest advice.

I had a lady for 12years and for those years i could swear we never slept with any other but we broke up 3years ago and inasmuch as i can still vouch that she is sexually decent,i can not remove the possibility that she might have had a nice time with another man but the bottom line is that it happened during a breakup and if we eventually get back together i don't think i give a damn about what went down during the period we were apart neither should it be her concern too except it has a more serious aftermath..

So i don't see how that should be a thing of worry to you since its not as if you outrightly cheated on him while you were still with him.
