i read dis and copy am grin cheesy

I do not think we have anything to celebrate on Vals day.

In fact I think Nigerians are delusional and love copying everything foreign. I' m fed up with the idea of people exerting all their energy just to impress a supposed loved one on a day someone decided should be special. To make matters worse, the story about St. Valentine is vague and shrouded in mystery. Where is the love in this country of ours? Let me not go into all the sadness, bitterness, anger, hunger, frustration and traumatic stress we face every day because I do not want to lose my temper.

In my opinion, my better half and I deserve to pick a day we consider special. We should not be bullied into accepting February 14th as Lovers’ Day. What if I want to celebrate love every day? Why would my girl make me lose sleep all because I failed to follow the crowd? Why would Nigerians only visit the less privileged or exchange love gifts on this particular day? And why must I dress up in a stupid red, pink or white attire on this day? Why must my children be forced to wear red to school on that day and when I cannot afford a new red dress for them, why would I be made to look like a villain? In heavens name I have bills to pay and no spare change for exotic and expensive treats.

Sincerely, I find the modern Val's day concept very ridiculous and annoying. My advice? Val's day should be abolished. It’s time for us to wake up and smell the coffee. There is little or no love in Naija.

There's a wrong concept of romance by humans. I take only after the almighty who is the creator of romance. He loves u more than u love him. If u claim u love him, He'lld like you to show it. Its just same with man and woman but we leave in a world whr women get all d love and men go back to d creator empty as the women don't even know how to show love but know all about receiving love.

@Op... In a year, almost all days (if not all) has what it is celebrated for. I'm sure you don't flow will majority of these days. You can add it to it. Let those who appreciate what the day represents flow with it.
Just be a looker. That's all!
