This clearly shows that Ghana is progressing while nigeria is retrogressing.

. In Ghana doing what? Nigerians are sustaining your economy. No Nigerian makes his money in Ghana except a few Igbo business men. All nigerians do is bring in thoudands and millions of dollars to spend in Ghana. Ghana is peaceful. That's the only good thing about it. Standard of living is not comparable to Nigeria.

Shagari was the President as at Feb 2nd, 1983. Buhari came on board on Dec 31st, 1983/Jan 1st, 1984.

Can't understand why people are mentioning Buhari in their comments. Anyone with the slightest knowledge of Nigerian history knows that Buhari overthrew the Shagari govt in December, 1983.

Our terrible knowledge of the history of our own country is one of our greatest problems.

Today, Ghana is Economically stable than Nigeria, and what did they do to Nigerians trooping every 10 Minutes into their Country? they showed us love.

We should emulate how Ghana shows everybody love into our lives.

bro you ain't serious, Ghana dare not depot nigerians cos we keep their economy going, we are the number one patrons of all tiers of schools in Ghana, go to mokwola market in accra the entire place is littered with yoruba and igbo, nigerians own countless choice properties in Ghana, we keep their ports busy, our businessmen employ thousands of their people, the printing press business is dominated by yoruba,s
you guys have come again. You can't do without bringing in bragging rights for no reason. And the sad part is that majority of you are ignorant and living in a f00ls paradise. It's a pity a lot of you harbour this mindset. Do you think Nigeria is in the center and everything revolves around you. It's an insult the o say you are the back bone of a country cos you see your people doing business there.
If Ghana did not provide the enabling environment for business to thrive will your people be there.? If Nigeria provided the basic necessities will lot of Nigerian countries be in ghana? . If you are the ones developing Ghana why can't you create the enabling environment in you own land?or is it a fluke? If Ghana is not peaceful and a haven for investment will Nigerians flood to buy properties. It's foolish that you take pride in filling the end market and say you are king. Nigeria has a lot of resorts but I can tell you that Nigerians crowd Ghanaian resorts that no the ones in their own land. It's not even like many of them have visited the ones in Nigeria. Yet you say na we dey rock your places. Am yet to see the sense there. Well continue investing in Ghana.

There's a misconception here!!

Ghana's economy is still far below Nigeria's, both in GDP per capita, GDP norminal and purchasing power parity (PPP).

When Ghanaians were here alot were teachers and professionals, the vast majority were shoe-menders, gate-keepers, porridge hawkers and illegal nuisance.

The Nigerian government simple deported those illegal Ghanaians through diplomatic protocols and channels.

Fast forward to this day, the vast majority of Nigerians in Ghana control the domestic economy of that country. From macro/micro retail, services, import and export, real estate...etc.

Glo, dangote, GTB, Fidelity, and a host of Nigerian service firms are all in Ghana.

The difference is clear!!!

I met a Ghanaian man in sierra leone and he mentioned the initial deportation of Nigerians from Ghana. He said a lot of Nigerians deported were successful businessmen, many ogbomosho people easily recognized with their tribal marks. He said he lost a lot of classmates whose parents were sent packing from Ghana and many Ghanaian took over their homes.

Many Nigerians living in Ghana before the deportation had been their for decades and were doing very well, they did not go because of any economic deprivations.

Most Ghanaians have conveniently forgotten this, re-hashing the story of their own deportation from Nigeria, even in Ghana they sell those bags as 'ghana must go' . Cant they give it a different name, children yet to be born would keep asking why the bag is named like that, so the animosity persists.
you need to take your history classes seriously. And get some sense at that. So because a Ghanaian told you the Nigerians that were in ghana were will to do means that all of the people reporters were well to do and the Ghanaians in Nigerian were poor? The funny truth about the Ghana must go saga is that Nigerians bring up the issue and start hating over and over again. Who does that? A lot of Ghanaian youths don't know what Ghana must go means but use the bag with ease. Was the bag a Nigerian invention.? Was it not brought from abroad. ? I just tire for the way some of you reason

The truth of the matter is that Ghana drew the first blood, when President Kofi Busia expelled Nigerians whom they felt had practically taken over their economy. "Ghana Must Go" was the Nigerian response!

I expected that you will come up here soon. It's like you guys brains a tweaked towards never ending arguments and all manner of silly talk . I must commend you for your good use of English but the truth is that a lot of you including yourself speak with so much ignorance and indecency .

The topic was about reflecting on the Ghana expulsion from Nigerian. And you guys have turned it into a chest beating competition . Where is the sense there?

It's only normal that everyone will like to tell their stores to suite their own line. But let's learn to be truthful and say things as they are. As many as there were teachers and all sorts of artisans from Ghana in Nigeria. The same way there were also well to do Ghanaians with influence. The same is no different from when Nigerians where in ghana before the first deportation . So let's not try to sound one sided.

But one thing is for certain the ghana's majority that did their menial jobs did it well and did not constitute nuisance while living in Nigeria. They served a purpose
They even did better than their Nigerian counterparts. Every Nigerian that was opportuned to be tutored by a Ghanaian has nothing but good tales of their sound history and disciple. So were did there insults and belittling come from.? Is this how you people say thank you for the good they did?
On what grounds do you say you control ghana's economy. That Ghana gave you the allowance and the enabling environment to invest and do business in their own country now means that you control the economy. What an outlandish statement. You people need to learn some manners cos you have none

This is my problem rather then settle this maturely and diplomatic you choose to act like some primary school kids. Two wrongs don't make a right. What prompted busia to expell Nigerians? (note it was not only Nigerians, they even deported Russians and Chinese.) was it not the same country that welcomed them in? So what went wrong? Same goes to the Nigerian case. Both demand the same questions to gave a sound judgment and not all this immature bickering

Let us dispense with the drapery of theatrical hypocrisy.

I was only responding to ill-conceived postulation put forward by a Nigerian who doesn't know a bit about geo-politics.

We have absolutely nothing to be thankful about Ghanaians' sojourn here.

Ghana has no reasonable investment in Nigeria.
Nigeria's investments in Ghana is running into billions of dollars, from large firms to individual companies. The few Nigerian miscreants there do not blot out the relevance of Nigeria's economic impact in your local economy.

Ghana still make use of Nigeria's satellites for agriculture, weather, geology and environmental protection.

Nigeria still shoulders ECOWAS burden financially, logistically and materially.

We are still amongst the 5 biggest African country financing the AU today and tomorrow.

I cannot envisage Ghana deporting Globa com, GTB, Dangote, first bank, Access and the whole lot of thousands of Nigerians who do retail and wholesale in Ghana's mainarket.

Tell me, when was the law in Ghana passed? That law that stipulates that Nigerians should employ at least 4 Ghanaians before they can run their business?

Nigeria was under democratic rule in February of 1983!

Please it is pointless to argue blindly when you are not armed with facts!

FYI Buhari seized power in December 31, 1983 and ruled till August 1985, and this event happened well before then.
