bros u r not in nigeria, if u r u will know that we hv federal roads which links states but r maintained n managed by federal govt, state roads which r internal road network. u can only construct abi build new roads in d federal level if the states r not linked, but all states hv federal roads passed thru them which r in deplorable state n needs rehabilitation. do u knw the cost of building a new road entirely? n mind u roads r not like buildngs dat u can abandon d old one n build a new one beside d old one, in roads u need lands n most of these lands r own by people which u need to compensate the owners before u do anything. most of the federal roads pass thru busy cities n towns, imagine proposing to build a new road n the network pass thru an hotel or a popular institution or some sort? u think when govt comes ip with designs n roadmaps na rubbish dem dey do?

But Just for your info, GEJ did not start the dualisation of the east-west road and neither did he even make any significant progress in the dualisation process enough for him to be given any sort of credit for that road. Same for the Benin-Auchi road, next to zero progress has been made in the dualisation of that highway. How you have been deceived to the extent of tagging these 2 roads as 'new' roads built by GEJ is mind boggling.
