Glory to God. He is an Awesome God. I had my sweet babygirl on the 12th Feb... n i left Yankee on the 26th Feb exactly 2 wks after. Yay, i am home.
SPECIAL THANKS TO MY SENIORS O, THIS 2WKS THING IS BAE. EHUGS N KISSES R COMING UR WAY.....
I love Dr E, she was awesome, Laurie is a sweetat. I had a great nurse at Oakbend, (Pam) she was just great.
Dr's Fee $1900
Hosp Fee $2300
NICU- $621
Brown & Associates- $178 broken into mother & Child $79 + $99 ( i was expecting one bill. Hehehe, i guess i was mistaken) i dont understand why my bill is relatively higher than other pples own for B&A.
Swab test- $200
Paedatrician - 1st visit$75 + 2nd visit$55= $130 + $20 navel bleeding treatment (though dr said its not too necessary, me wey know say i dey travel, said id rather u treat her) =$150
ETC- $320 Mrs Stells is nice. But i met a rookie, who wasted my time cos she didnt know how to give boarding pass with ETC, but it was all sorted out.
Passport -$165
Went all the way to Austin for Birth Cert, 6hours to & fro, cheii. Its a nice city though, very diff scenery from Houston n Richmond.
Naming - $200 (i just needed a Pastor to pray for her...i did it for her elder ones, i didnt want her to be an exception & damn that caterers food was nice)

Extra luggage - mmmm i went prepared, i paid for 4 extra luggage online n when i got there and the lady was like infant has only one. I said NO, she has 2, i called united 2ce to confirm this and they said she has 2, and if they hadnt said thta i would have paid for 5extra boxes. She just said alright, alright. I was so happy oo, though i had the cash to pay near by incase she didnt agree. I kukuma used it for duty freeeee..... hehe.
Chei i don try for ther from Nov to Feb.
I used Mr Chris (whose number i screen munched here) n uber whenever i didnt have someone to give me a ride. They r both good. Mr Chris is patient.
Arrived Nigeria, welcomed with slap from heat, they scratched my LO's car seat n stroller, but what da heck; I'm home. Went to get BCG injection for LO.
I made a couple of friend Chicagobound my love mua, Neks sugar, Ade, Ires mum (u know ur self) & soulcare- a pleasant acquaintance.
Thanks Nerf for answering my pm, justwise for moderating, Tvegas (my most screen munched poster), Nogen, favouredgal, shelly23

Blessed Mother's and Father's, the Awesome God we call on at all times may he continue to show up for us in Jesus Christ name, Amen.

Left Lagos via BA and requested for wheel chair service, at BA stand I wasn't asked for fit to fly.

The lady that wheeled me to the depature asked if I was pregnant and I said yes. She asked for my fit to fly and I gave it to her, the next thing she said was I hope you don't give birth in the plane because your are leaving at 35 weeks; I replied immediately, God forbid. I will not birth in the plane.

We got to London and it was all good.

We connected our Flight to Houston after 3 hrs layover.

Before landing in Houston, my mom and i prayed a prayer of agreement and i felt peace immediately.
Got to Houston at 2:15pm.

God of wonders, God that never fails, Awesome redeemer I saluate your majesty.

Was wheeled to CBP. I greeted but no response.

He asked for our passports and I handed it over to him.

He asked me to place my fingers on the scanner and then the picture.

Immediately, he said am sending them back.

I don't know what he saw, I don't know what happened, I was moved wheeled forward and he was to scan my mom, then he asked who is bla bla bla... I said I am, he said Oh no! I have made a mistake. He immediately radioed some people and said they should please send a manager to him.

When the manager came, he enquired what the problem was, he said he made a mistake and the manager asked ain't we sending them back. He said No, I made a big mistake.

He re-scanned me and stamped me in 6 months, scanned my mom and my daughter and said Sorry about the mistake. Welcome to America.

My fellow mamas, no document was asked, my purpose wasn't even asked, nothing at all.

The devil stuck out his ugly head but God cut it off.

I am presently in my host''s place. Waiting for my appointment tomorrow with Dr. Ezekiel.

Praise be to God.

Hallelujah.

Hi Ansol, could you please send me a PM with Dr. E's email address? Thanks

ansol:

Ok quick update on our journey so far. I travelled with my wife Jan 01, 2016. Before then, my wife's guardian prefer she stays with people where they could offer help and care since she's a first time mum and her first time in U.S. That means we would head to McKinney Texas instead of Houston Ticket we already booked. I didn't change the ticket and we agreed we would enter through Houston and then use bus to Dallas then the host would come pick us. Downtown Dallas is about 30-40mins from McKinney (I guess).

Houston POE was a breeze though wifey spent an hour just waiting to be attended to. They check her correspondence and counted her cash (went with 8k).

Then from houston we used bus to McKinney to Dallas and then host picked us. The Bus was cool mehn. Enjoyed the free WiFi too. About 4hrs 30mins or so.

She eventually got a doctor in McKinney for $2400 and Hospital for $3500. She had normally delivery and welcomed our first baby (boy) on Feb 13, 2016. So far the bill has been ok. No hidden charge. Hospital Paeditrician we paid $268 (should have been 200 but we paid 68 extra for an additional service we requested).
First visit to Paed was $100 and subsequent was $85. Doctor accepted our naija medical record we paid $68 dollars for extra test conducted.

Wifey will start document processing from Monday and should be done in 2-3weeks by my calculation.

We would like to thanks everyone for the info shared here.... God bless you all. Meanwhile I had to call Dr E office and apologise for not coming back to Houston and she gave her blessings. Sent her a mail too cos the office manager was really understanding and nice.

In all sha we are doing fine and counting down to seeing wifey and cute boy soon.

Nb: even though my wife don born... I still read up to date in this thread as if I get UME to write. I don't comment often though but I read all... everyday!
