Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by zoomzu(f): 11:41am On Mar 11, 2016 |
You truly responded to it but no definite answere was given on how to present it. By concern is that, I I get the money from my cooperative and put in my account, won't that signifies huge cash lodgment? That's my concern. Thank you Sir. |

zoomzu: No as long as its done in such a way that the evidence will show in both accounts, basically don't withdraw in cash and pay into your salary account, transfer from one account to another so as to keep evidence tray |

arowoloaffiss: It is a straightforward decision. You applied for the wrong visa. |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by justwise(m): 12:50pm On Mar 11, 2016 |
arowoloaffiss: You probably would have been given a visa if you had submitted your own bank statement and payslips to strengthen your tie to Nigeria, submitting your sponsor's bank statement is not good enough. Though you applied for wrong visa but you would have been given a visa on business visitor visa category which is what you need 2 Likes |

So how soon can I reapply and what documents do you recommend I attach this time around. I appreciate the assistance as always. Another issue is the company is a new one, operations just started in January. Although payslips can be provided for both months. No bank deposits were made. we were paid in cash. justwise: |

arowoloaffiss: That is not good news, a new company with very little operational record, paying cash in hand and sending staff to the UK for training? How many of you are going? |

zoomzu: No worries, all the best |

We are three and the equipment manufacturer require training before it can be operated that is just the challenge Secondly the mother company is already existing one but our own is just a small department under the existing company and they re using their resource to sponsor the new company |

@justwise @FrontPageLawyer pls pls pls im still awaiting a response to this post, pls reply me..i'm checking here every second for a response likeeeee Also pls when filling the section that says have you been refused before and why ...do i type out the whole reasons they said (the 3 paragraphs as why ?) Hello Everyone!! i have been reading these posts on Visa for the past days, however i will really appreciate if i can get a response concerning my own issue. I applied for the uk visa 2014 with a virgin passport and i was refused,i applied using my uncles company account who was my sponsor and the company bank statement and my pay slips from the company as i was working there at the time, without submitting my own bank statement.(i really wish i read all the posts here before applying).Since the refusal i have been to Dubai once and Accra about 4 times,i would like to apply again soon and ill be glad if i can get any guidance.Ive been working for a company for about 11 months,i was employed on a two year contract so i cannot leave (i don't know if this would serve as a tie ),i earn 500k a month and i get a leave allowance of about 250k,i currently have 1.7m in my account (some loans i gave from the same account of about 400k where recently paid also, this shows in my bank statement (same name money transferred to with "loan ref"and same name paid the money as loan given and i plan to explain it also ),i do not have kids, and i am single.I also have a friend in the Uk and i am wondering if it would help if i get an invitation letter from her, also do i book a hotel or no.What documents would you advise me to take and what additional info do i explain,i would just like an opinion or advise in general about how i proceed. Thanks in advance My refusal letter in 2014 stated : -You state you receive N105,000 a month from your employment with XYZ company and as evidence of this you have provided photocopies of payslips, pay slips are not reliable evidence as they are easily altered, you have also provided employment letters from xyz company however such letters can easily be obtained in Nigeria.I note that you have provided the bank statement for this company however your name does not feature on any of the transactions, you have also not provided your personal bank statement. Therefore there is no record of your pay from your employer being paid to your account. The documents you have provided me does not satisfy me that you are an employer of xyz company and are in the level of receipt of income stated on your application form. -You have not provided evidence of your funds and in the absence i am not satisfied that you have strong financial circumstances in Nigeria -I recognise your sponsor proposes to pay for your visit to the uk but in making my decision,i must take into account your own personal and financial circumstances in order to establish your ties to Nigeria and intentions in the Uk.Given the documents you have provided and the statement you have made,on the balance of probabilities,I am not satisfied that you are genuinely seeking entry as a visitor for a limited period not exceeding 6 months and that you intend to leave the Uk at the end of the visit. I have refused your application because i am nit satisfied that you have met all of the requirements of the relevant paragraph of the uk immigration rules. |

Please justwise/frontpagelawyer et al, what and what food stuffs are allowed into the UK? I wouldn't want any stuff purchased with my hard earned money confiscated due to my ignorance. My aunty requested for, Kilishi, beans, yams, stock fish, Maggi, Mellon (grinded). All packed in a white transparent nylon-bag. Can these fly? Or any suggestions? Thanks |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by RetroBoy: 5:01pm On Mar 11, 2016 |
askari01:Thanks. I am actually lodging money into the account, spread over a month. I want to write a professional exam (PLAB) in June, and the money is actually for the exam, not for just obtaining the visa. the exam is written only in June, else I' d have waited for some time before applying. The paucity of funds in the account is due to the fact that I traveled to the US last October to write another exam (USMLE) |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by iblaw: 5:20pm On Mar 11, 2016 |
nairacountry: I have carried beans, garri, yam,Maggi, honey(max 2kg) etc without any wahala as long as you pass through the hungry customs officer in MMIA. Some Uk restriction on meat and fish but stock fish should be fine. More details in the link below: https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/355730/bringing_food_leaflet_aug_2014_v4.pdf |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by nairacountry(m): 7:58pm On Mar 11, 2016 |
iblaw: Thank God I'm not boarding MMIA By the way, can booking a nite in London hotel (out of 10nites to be spent) pass the POE? With an answer that, we will be lodging round London, Manchester, Yorkshire etc if asked why 1 nite out of 10nites. Reason being that we said we Have/know nobody during visa process. Or should we book for the whole period and then cancelled after first night? |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by iblaw: 9:40pm On Mar 11, 2016 |
nairacountry: I have never used hotel in the Uk but if you said you know no one during your visa application please have something to show hotel accommodation even if its for few days, you might be asked to show prove of hotel booking at POE. |

justwise: Hi,i was working at a different company when i applied in 2014 "my uncle's company",where i was earning N105,000 a month and seeing as i did not have enough money for the trip then,my uncle was my sponsor,so all i applied with was my employment papers and pay slip,i had planned to stay in this same uncles house in London.I had no idea that i should still have submitted my bank statement even if he was my sponsor...ignorance is a disease i guess... I currently work in a different company for the past 11months and plan to apply with my own bank statement and employment papers this time |

Hello, Gurus in the house. I kind of have a different case here. I am presently a student of University of Portsmouth (Distance Learning). Which I will be graduating soon, my graduation is a July 22 as stated by the university. I presently works with a multinational, and earn 140k per month. Pay slips and official letter of introduction is not an issue . Guess I will have to collect my to Tax clearance cert before applying, I have my student ID card and records, I will like to go for my graduation in the UK, I need a clear layout of what and what I will need to apply safely for the visa, I plan to spend just a week. Because it will be out of my annual leave, and I don't really have much money to waste away coz have spent so much on the course. However it will be my absolute joy to be present at the graduation ceremony. I budget to spend 350k, (flight + little shopping). Expecting a response soon. Thanks |

Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by justwise(m): 8:14am On Mar 12, 2016 |
badenugba: What is your budget for accommodation? Portsmouth is relatively an expensive city, have you checked cost of hotel accommodation within the university area? There is a hotel just a minute away from Portsmouth university I think it's Premier Inn, check the cost to add to your budget so as to make it realistic |

justwise:Thanks a just wise, I just checked and the Premier Inn hotels near the university is around 3 pounds per night , let's say I want to use 10 days . That's 350 pounds. That's like 140k at parallel market rate. Which make say budget 500k. Good! How much would I need to put in my account , and what are the steps , necessary documents? |

Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by worry359(m): 11:05am On Mar 12, 2016 |
justwise: Average prices at Premier inn hotel is about £63-00 to £70-00 Where did your price come from? Cheapest seem to be £43-00? |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by justwise(m): 12:20pm On Mar 12, 2016 |
badenugba: Ok, i guess you have to search for B&B within the uni areas, they are far cheaper and will fit within your budget. You need to get that figure before applying for visa because it will form part of your budget. Google B&B in Portsmouth university area you will get a lot of hits, the university is located at the heart of Portsmouth commercial town...area called commercial road or Fratton park which is about 15mins walk to the university. I used to live in Fratton park and its a bit cheaper than commercial road area. So focus your B&B search in those areas, get the price and use it for your budget calculation. |
