Hello house. I got an invitation to a job interview in the UK and I'm trying to arrange my visa application. I actually just returned in January after doing my Msc there. I'm presently job hunting but I have savings to the tune of about 1.5m. What are my chances and how do I package a strong visa application?
Also is there a means of getting a fast tracked application with the British embassy in Lagos?
Thanks.

What sort of visa will you be applying for?

Ok, i guess you have to search for B&B within the uni areas, they are far cheaper and will fit within your budget. You need to get that figure before applying for visa because it will form part of your budget.

Google B&B in Portsmouth university area you will get a lot of hits, the university is located at the heart of Portsmouth commercial town...area called commercial road or Fratton park which is about 15mins walk to the university. I used to live in Fratton park and its a bit cheaper than commercial road area.

So focus your B&B search in those areas, get the price and use it for your budget calculation.
Aii, thanks.
So what and what are the documents I need to start gathering. ?

Please read this thread as we have listed such documents far too many times here, apart from your graduation invitation letter and result transcripts the rest of documents are the same as visiting visa application

..without evidence of your source of income you will find it difficult to get such visa.

If I were you I will ask the company to conduct Skype interview for you and if you got the job then certificate of employment will be sent to you for tie 1 visa application

Happy Sunday. Please I have few questions to ask. I'm using my dads bank statement to apply for a visiting visa. Do I need a letter from him that confirms he's giving me permission to use his bank statement.
Also the bank statement was printed out on the 23rd of February. My appointment is tomorrow. Can I still use the bank statement. Thank you guys
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by ifyalways(f): 11:11am On Mar 13, 2016
You are likely gonna be denied unless you are a STUDENT or unemployed , you are expected to submit a bank statement in your name alongside with a sponsors own if you must use a sponsor.

Statement printed on 23rd February cannot fly for an application to be submitted after 03 March ie 10 working days after print date.

I should submit my own bank statement even if I don't have funds in my account?

Hi good day. this is my situation as well but I don't understand what you're saying. So you're basically saying that anyone who isn't a student using just their parents bank statement is likely to be refused?

I finished my studies in the uk last year and moved back. I'm yet to get a job and I've just applied for a uk visa using my dad's bank statement. my appointment is on Wednesday. So are you saying I should print out my bank statement as well even as I don't work and there's no explaination as to where and how I have little funds there?
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by Thatfiyahgirl: 12:40pm On Mar 13, 2016
Hello house. I'm going for my uk visa appointment and I wanted to run my documents by you guys.
My visa application filled form
My passport
passport data page and tenancy agrrement of the person inviting me.
My dad's bank statement.
Flight booking
My birth certificate

On the bank statement part, I just read above that only students can use a sponsors bank statement and since I'm not a student. I just finished my masters in the uk last year and I'm yet to get a job. Do I print out my own bank statement and submit alongside my dad's. Please note that there's just about 50k in my account.

Please advice.

So is there any need printing out my own statement please?

Please advice.

Your situation is a bit different cos:
You just returned from UK on a student visa which I believe you didn't overstay .

You are still unemployed and stated so in your application.

Not same scenario as the other person.

Not confirmation to use his account per say, you need a "sponsors letter" and a copy of your dad's data page.
He has to state your relationship with you( he's your biological dad), where he works, why he wants to sponsor the trip and with how much.

Sorry one more question. My dads passport expired in 2014 and he's yet to renew. Do I use it that way? Or it matters?

Hello everyone. Thanks for the wonderful job you all have been doing may God  richly bless you.
Please I have a question  but first a quick history. In 2014 I applied for 6months family visit visa to visit my husband  twice and I was  denied on both occasion. The reasons for the refusal were so flimsy. The second refusal was the worst, in fact the ECO was quoting date on documents I submitted with the first application.it goes to show that he didn't even check  the documents I submitted with my second application. So I was refused again. I felt really bad and I appealed. 2 months after the appeal was filed I was called for my visa. I travelled and stayed for one month as stated on my application.
Now I want to apply for 2years with my husband as my sponsor. The problem is his account is really bad at the moment because for the past 7 months we've been building. Money doesn't stay in his account. The moment he gets it he sends to me for the project. On the other my account for the past 7 months has been very busy. Large inflow and outflow of money because of the project; I'm in charge of it. At the moment I have close to a million naira in my account, this is from rent that was recently paid.
My question is, can I use my account to apply for the visa.? Like sponsoring myself instead.

Please note, my husband  lives in the uk but I live in Nigeria with our son.
Your kind input will be highly appreciated.
