RUBBISH!

The south africans ain't no girl scouts

You guys should lay off agaugust

ALL the south africans always gang up against agaugust and any nigerian with a superior argument.

They are never impartial arbiters

As an impartial observer, i have watched as the south africans here have started nonsensical arguments and consistent LIES abusing and denigrating Nigeria and agaugust just to appear superior

Well, newsflash, they aren't

If agaugust tells them the truth occasionally and it deflates their ego, well good riddance to bad rubbish

Just because some of us keep quiet doesn't mean we aren't seeing what is going on here

M14A1:

You are neither giving analysis or making decent contributions 80% of the time. Your post always reeks of hatred and disdain towards the South Africans, thereby attracting retorts in similar manner from them, and the cycle keeps going. I honestly don't care if you post Syrian or Middle East related issues here, just be civil.

here is a good write up for the G6

And here you can find a good head to head comparison for the Nora and Rhino
http://www.military-today.com/artillery/nora_b52.htm
http://www.military-today.com/artillery/g6_rhino.htm

Imo, its no contest - G6 has better range (gun) and mobility (road range), better armor (rated to 20mm on frontal arc) and carries more onboard ammunition. And the cherry on top is that unlike the Nora is a battle-proven design.

But read for yourself and come to your own conclusions.

I think it would be much better if people just refrained from talking about how, superior or better their weapons system or soldiers are, compared to other African Countries.

Comments such as "Nigerian Special forces, the most experienced and well trained units in Africa" or "South African Badger IFV is the best IFV in Africa" tend to cause tension amongst people.

So it would be better if people just post pictures without Chest banging or being confrontational.

If you believe that your Country is the best at something please keep it to yourself because no cares or wants to know.

That is all false information you posted.

Facts are:

G-6 road range 700 km
B-52 road range 1,000 km

G-6 Rhino firing range with base bleed shell = 39 km

B-52 Nora firing range with base bleed shell = 41 km

No army has V-LAP shell on Rhino in Africa. Also no army in the world has 52 calibire Rhino, only the 45 calibre is in service. Then according to SANDF official website, SANDF has only base bleed shells and their G-6 Rhino maximum range is officially published as 39 km.

B-52 Nora range is 41 km with base bleed and beats the G-6 Rhino

12 rmp sustained rate of fire by B-52, automatic loader has 12 shells loaded for rapid salvo fire.

B-52 is the new top dog in Africa with 20 years ahead of the G-6 technology

Me not continuing this discussion is not me accepting what you are saying, not in the slightest. The topic as to the range of the GV6 has been dealt with conclusively on the other thread.

For informative puproses: South Africa manufactures VLAP ammunition.
In September 2001, the G6 achieved a range of 53.6km using the new velocity-enhanced long-range projectile (V-LAP) and the new M64 bi-modular charge system. V-LAP combines base bleed and rocket motor technology, while the M64 charge system increases muzzle velocity to 910m/s VLAP is part of Denel's new Assegai range of 155mm ammunition.

from the YUGOIMPORT website here is the link http://www.yugoimport.com/en/proizvodi/155-mm-he-erfb-rabb-very-long-range-artillery-projectile-vlap-rocket-assistancebase-bleed

155 mm HE ERFB RA/BB very long range artillery projectile (VLAP-Rocket Assistance/Base Bleed)

The 155 mm HE ERFB RA/BB (VLAP) projectile belongs to new generation of very long range artillery projectiles designed for importantly improving operational range performances of a modern towed and self-propelled 155 mm gun - howitzers with 39, 45 and 52 calibre barrel length. The projectile design combines rocket motor and base bleed units in single projectile. Hybrid rocked assisted/base bleed projectile is extending the operational range of 155mm gun-howitzers from 10+ km to more than 20 km in comparison with standard ERFB/BB projectiles, depending on the barrel length and charge used.
It complements existing HE, HE ERFB/BT and HE ERFB/BB ammunition systems providing greater ranges, with no special training or logistic. 155 mm HE ERFB RA/BB enables users to engage enemy targets at greater ranges, whilst being well beyond the range of their counter battery fire. It also enables long range harassment fire onto enemy logistic lines, forcing them to deploy an additional 10 - 20 kilometres from the front edge of the battle area. Its terminal effectiveness (blast and fragmentation) is due to smaller HE charge slightly different, but not importantly lower than HE ERFB/BB round.
Achieved results: 33% increase in range comparing to standard HE ERFB/BB base bleed projectiles (from 30.3 km to 40.8 km for 39-barrel systems and from 42 km to ~56 km with 52-barrel systems.
The unique projectile design enables simultaneously using of rocket propellant (by using of specially designed nozzles) and base bleed charges.
Projectile main characteristics:
Maximum range ~56km
Muzzle velocity ~925m/s
Rocket motor total impulse of : >6500 Ns
Rocket motor propellant charge weight: ~3 kg
Rocket motor specific impulse: >2170 Ns/kg
Projectile total weight: 48 kg
Projectile warhead section weight 30 kg
