Gender equality is not part of our African tradition. Women must be subservient to men cos women are under men. We dont want gender equality, just the same way we dont want homosexuality. Let us follow our african values to the latter!

Then throw away your smartphone and stop typing in English. pick up your gong and become your village's town crier. That is the true African tradition.

This thread is a bundle of laughs. The bible condoned slavery. Even the Quran. But I bet you the black man will still find a way to reinterpret it. But when it comes to women rights, it will made from man's ribs, she is only a helper and other short stories. No reinterpretation. gbam!!
As in eh, I look at my country/Africa and wonder, why we have refused to move forward to better ourselves? The hypocrisy is killing.

slavery and equality are two different things.

no one is saying a woman is to be a slave but all we are saying is that a woman can never be equal to a man.

I stand with the senate on this oo. Call me misogynist, call me sexist. I don't care!.
Believe me if this bill was passed, you will start seeing lots of divorce cases from gold digging women as it is applicable to foreign countries!
I mean what those the silly bill tend to achieve by giving women equal right in marriage and divorce! Tah!!!

There is a reason God made woman from the rib of man and no woman is equal to a man!

**modified**
Just saw the part of the bill about violence against women, I think that aspect should be adopted in a separate bill and passed.
#Say no to violence against women.
But for equal rights? Mba!!!
6 bottles of chilled origins for you my man, if I'm to be in the hallowed chambers today as a Senator my own go spoil am because we have a lot of golddiggers hitches around who will make life miserable for men if that Bill is passed, moreover even without passing the rate of feminists nowadays is all time high, talk more of adding that. It will be like a salt on injury

Slavery and inequality are intertwined my friend. A slave is not equal to his master hence the inequality. My point is simply, if you're gonna use the Bible to defend your misogyny, then you can't just stop there. You must also be stoned to death as an fornicators are and accept that slavery of black people is valid. You cannot just pick and choose whatever verses you feel like.

But really, men and women are different. They can't have equal rights. But there should be fair consideration.

don't worry! is just the confuse mechanism working in them, that's why they are shouting up and down in here.

Equal rights Equal rights yet they would be the one to always ask for help in the most mundane ish.

Equal employment opportunities yet they would ask for 6months maternity leave, heartbreak leave and if care is not taken, they would ask for menstrual cramps leave!

Equal rights yet a man is crucified before the world and press the moment a lady accuses him of rape, without even hearing his side And if tables are turned the man (victim) is mocked!

Equal rights yet a man is expected to always be the provider in a home, and in a situation where the man lags behind, he is called a lazy man, nobody calls the woman that!

Equal rights yet in dire emergency situations women and children are carried to saftey 1st. And the men maybe later.

Where do I start and where do I stop?
God will punish the next mouth that shouts equal rights. Wether owned by a man or woman!!!

For one Jezebel there was King David who married a dozen wives, was drunk half the time , killed another man and collected his wife, couldn't raise his sons properly that in the end they almost killed each other off. There was Solomon who had a harem of women(wondering if there was no AIDS then), there was Nebuchadnezzar the arrogant and pompous, Herod the extremely ignorant, Saul the greediest of Kings. But somehow nobody uses this issues against biblical male leaders or men in general. But Jezebel *gasp* oh Jezebel, the one and only universal representation of all women.
