a refresher for d newbies & myself:

The 7-Deadly Investing Sins
https:///5XCj1wtGyk

Summary
Wrath – never get angry; just fix the problem and move on.
Greed – greed causes investors to lose more money investing than at the point of a gun.
Sloth – don’t be lazy; if you don’t pay attention to your money – why should anyone else?
Pride – when things are going good don’t be prideful – pride leads to the fall. You are NOT smarter than the market, and it will “eat you alive” as soon as you think you are.
Lust – lusting after some investment will lead you to overpay for it.
Envy – this goes along with Lust and Greed
Gluttony – never, ever over-indulge. Putting too much into one investment is a recipe for disaster.
Heed Thy Warnings – the path to redemption is rife with temptation

Enjoy

DUNKA:
manie please for the NASD OTC do I need a different CSCS account to buy and sell there or will my regular CSCS suffice?

You will need a new CSCS? Find out if your stockbroker is registered with NASD. I do my NASD transactions through United Capital and CSL.

thanks for ur advise. as for the broker that is the only one i know for nw coz i met with one of the official of nse in owerri and they introduce me to them. do u know any in owerri?

An advice from an NSE official is the worst source of advice. Do you know that doctors in government hospitals always refer you to their own hospitals in town? You should ask ordinary clients who experienced their services, and also officially with SEC. Nowadays a good broker doesn't have to be in your home town.

i think am interested in it that's why i want to step in. thanks for.the advice.

Don't just "think", you should "know". So good luck as you pursue your passion. But also be sure to get a good degree at the same time. That is a very useful and long lasting capital.

It is not as bad as you are painting it. Don't scare the rookie guy! CSCS has made stock investing transparent compared to those dark days making it difficult for crook brokers to play a fast one on people's investment. The CSCS account helps in monitoring your investment as any foreign/unauthorized transaction on it is exposed and queried. The investor can quickly be lodged with CSCS for necessary action. Aside this, some brokers (he can ask if the broker offer this service) now offer online trading platform where you need not be a stockbroker to operate it. With simple steps provided as guide, one can join other traders in carrying out trading activities on the exchange without necessarily present on the floor.

Based on the above initiatives in place, the guy can go ahead and register with the recommended broker without any problem.

so how will register with a broker who is not in my home town. meanwhile is there any morgan capitals around imo or abia?

You can download their account opening form online, fill it and scan back to them with the required support documents...

You don't have to physically visit a broker

The government must devalue if not get ready for command and control economy in which my next investment will be govt debt.

Already it is playing out in the oil sector, I don't think any downstream company will report profits at this rate in 2016 with NNPC having to import most of the products using crude swaps.
