nefertitiram:If the hubby is not with me how do we sign the consent letter for the ETC? Abi we go don sign am before I leave for the journey? Or do they accept scanned copy? Also how soon before I travel can I apply for ETC. For instance, if I still have 2-3 weeks before I travel, can I still apply for the ETC ? Would the embassy think I still have time to Process a visa and not grant my ETC? I mean can I apply for ETC at any time before my trip back home? |

Aunty Biollar onidollar, I have been lazy ni o but this one that you have caught me, let me sit down and try. Yes, after you have left is good for her interview. You have sent a letter of intention to deliver and you will declare your motive at POE so all is well, it should be in your records. When filling Mumsy's form I suggest you put yourself or hubby as sponsor (put the person who earns more), if you earn up to like 400k a month, put your name (just an estimate on my part o, no VO told me this figure o) because its more straightforward if you are the sponsor than your hubby, but both can fly. When she is going for the interview, please have her hold a copy of your visa page and intl passport data page (this is mostly the only document they look at for mothers) after all they can't ask her to be explaining your earnings. However, she still needs to hold you bank statements, what I think they do is just to use the visa/data page to prompt your information and cross check what the parent is saying. At the end of the form where they ask if someone helped fill the form, click yes and fill in your details (name and relationship...I think, can't remember for sure right now). Now to the interview itself. Likely questions and suggested answers are below: Que: What are you going to do in the US? Ans: I am going to assist my daughter who is the US to have a baby Que: Where in the US are you going? Answer: Tucson, Arizona (make sure Mumsy knows the name of the exact town not just the state) Que: where will you stay Ans: this depends on what you filled in your own form, she doesn't need to cram the address though, don't go and be drilling iya oniya o. Answer should be with relative or extended stay apartment. Let me state here that they particularly don't seem to like older people staying in hotels, they prefer when they stay with people. when I say older people, I mean from like 60yrs. However, you can't change your old story for this, it has to be the place you wrote on your landing card. Que: is your daughter married...when did she get married? Ans: Yes, she eloped and got married to Mr Biollar and became Mrs Atawewe in the year 20xx Que; Do you have other children? Ans: yes 3, two are here in Nigeria (i don't know how many you guys are o, just speaking hypothetically) Que: Who is paying for your trip? Ans: My daughter/son- in- law Its unlikely she will get all the questions above, maybe 3. If she is not sure she will hear their oyinbo accent, please she should request for interpreter. Not because she cant speak English o but the interpreters frame questions better one kind....it seems to favour people. Please note that she can also go before you travel but its better if she goes after. they won't revoke your visa without calling you to come and explain yourself dear. If I remember anything else, I will let you know. P.S: let her carry a family picture, could be of your wedding. She wont need it but its better to over-prepare than not be prepared. biollar1: 9 Likes |

Someone was talking about buying PTA from FCMB earlier. I am quite familiar with the Bank and unless something has changed they will not sell PTA to an account holder whose account was opened less than 6 months earlier. However, you can reactivate a dormant account and buy. the way it works in these days of dollar scarcity is that the branch will do a justification to Head Office (Treasury) and if it is approved, they will sell to you. Such approvals don't necessarily have to take 5days, it can come in 1hour depending.... however, dollar things no easy these days o so they might not approve. If your spouse has an account with them, the policy allows you to buy through your spouse's account. Biollar: Please don't be talking that kind transaction on public forum abeg. If others try it and they get caught nko? You will be surprised how many ghost readers will go and do this thing. You know they actually send details to CBN, someone may actually start checking and see that same bill was paid twice from two different banks. I do not blame you babe, just don't publicize it. I have done some serious stuff and have quite a bit of dollars stashed already which even though legal, I will not come and be saying here....you get. I never even buy PTA o but I don open Sterling account today in case FCMB fails us on PTA. Between which I need to find cheaper tickets, without tickets they will not establish Form A for me and they have given us verbal approval to bring the transaction that it will be done ASAP. |

I am my baby now I delievered in Methodist Sugarland I paid 2538 for vd Doctor 2400 and 200 for test Pediatrician 200 I thought that was my bill but today I received another bill for usd 746,50 it says nursery and labs? The hospital is nice but i did not be very satisfied with all, and worse with this new bill that I never imagine why they are charging me I thought it was included in the package, so mamas be carefull ask for everything then they just send the bills it is not fair 1 Like 1 Share |

Kemo88:You can do the naija visa yourself if you have about 2 weeks to spare,I used the consulate in newyork tho, after I filled the forms and mailed it to them,i kept calling but they never answered and the box was always full so I couldn't leave a message, after about 8 working days I got the passport in the mail. Its risky if you don't have a lot of time to spare,i think overall I spent roughly 250-280(cant remember exact figures)but I heard the agents take about 350,considering all the stress I passed through going back and forth the post office,i should have just given the agent.that's one less thing to worry about. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Chai! E mi nikan tan? You just gave me skull expansion dear. MANY MANY MANY THANKS FOR THIS O. Now see ehn, Myself, hubby and son got the visa for vac purpose last year and we used it for that. We stayed in a hotel in Florida, we were asked during the interview if we'd be staying with fam members and we said NO. Sent notification of intent already and got the usual response. Now we intend staying with a fam member but I don't know their status in the US and I don't want to do trial and error, so we r doing soulcare. Will dis pose a problem? Status do change ryt? Can I go in with her? Since she's my mum and the amt u quoted is in d range of what I take home dou hubby earns more than dat and u also said it's more straightforward if I'm the sponsor, will just tag my name as the sponsor. The bolded gat mi rolling mehn...had to show hubby sef, almost fell off the chair while laughing. Again God bless u for the time o. happytbaby: |

passionantchica:If your going to fly Qatar 35 weeks won't work o! They are going to cancel your flight( mine was). According to Qatar 32w+1day =33w and so on. You'll need to fill and submit the medif form, an indemnity form and get approval from a Dr in Doha to travel one week to your travel date. So you might want to fly at 34w max. |

ucystan:Flew Maroc London-lag in 2014..they were doing bonanza of 1 extra 23kg bag for free..hmm my dear you get what you pay for o,it's a 2* airline, small plane but leg room was ok,crappy food,no in flight entertainment @ all,air hostesses were a bit cold, bordering on rude and "wowo"...all that was still manageable..but then dy dropped some passengers off in Benin republic and that was not on our intinery.Seems they combined 2 half filled flights from the cassablanca leg of the journey without informing us the passengers .... Anyways that was 2years ago and they might have gotten better. Can I fly wt them again?..hmmm yes,if its way cheaper than others..shows how much i like awuf..You'll be fine dear,ur LO sef will keep u busy on your return leg so you won't miss the inflight entertainment..Go wt a tab/novel to keep u occupied when going. Someone else asked abt quatar..now that's a 5* airline, everything on point, cld even say services better than emirates..But them no like our green pali o..they usually have long ganster stop-overs,they allow ppl wt blue/red pali to enter their country andbook them into a hotel but not us.We just have to stay in the airport throughout (even if its a 9hr stopover like mine was). |
