Fixed deposit with no witholding tax, shey banks dey do charity work ni?.....don't flatter yourself bro, I'v proven to you that T.bills beats FD every single time. Meanwhile no bank can give u 7%, except you have like 500m to invest, then they might consider. If yu know of anybank offering 7% without Tax, mention it here & I'll prove otherwise
I tire too ooo...don't know which bank would offer 7% for FD. TB is better, but FBN capital is d best.

the interest is higher. 6.5% for 3 months but interest isn't paid upfront.

Good morning Gurus,

I bidded for treasury bills (91) at first bank but i dont seem to understand their problem as they keep saying it was not successful. The last one that was done on the 6th of April was not successful as well so i called them and i was told that their platform is bad (i know that its a lie.) Now the guy i spoke with at the treasury department is suggesting i go for the secondary market and the rate is between 5% and 7%. I want to know the downside of going for the secondary market or just wait for another bidding in two weeks time.

Thanks

Give examples of asset management companies that offer this incrdible rate

Google it out on CBN website or securities and Exchange
commission website sec.gov.ng and you will find Rosabon Financial Services operating since 1994. The interest rate is not incredible Bros, Because this Asset Creation Companies are still being regulated by CBN and their interest rate is still within the MPR set by CBN . it's only incredible if the ROI is above, + or - 2 of the MPR

It depends on your successful bid rate. If you got 6.5% for instance for 91 days. It means 6.5% of 1.5m, dividing the result by 4 since it's for 91 days out of 364 days.

The answer is N24,375. This is exclusive of custody fee. Happy investing.

You did what? You bidded 7.8 when the last bid was 8.6, that's a difference of 0.8%. How would you expect t.bills to fall by 0.8%? Especially now that Govt need money to fund budget.....I follow Firstbank investment arm, and here is a screen shot of what I read on their report/outlook for t.bills, so u know; u went too low #ex

It's not like I am investing hundreds of millions, so how much will I be loosing really. I'd rather play safe and get what I can get.
