Do you know the cost of sending a post (passport & supporting documents) from say the east coast for example to Tanko in Atlanta?
undecided
I don't know where Alaska is - too lazy to google but to send from Houston which is close to Atlanta I know how much we spend

I'm not saying it matters but it may not be the most efficient cost and logistic wise

Alaska is at the extreme North west of USA. According to Sarah Palin, she can see Russia from her back yard.

Hehehe. Alaska is not in the US. They just put it there on the map to remind us its a part of the US. Alaska is closer to Russia than the US.

No forbidden fruit there. There are certain conditions you are required to fulfill and once you do, you qualify for the I. D. The most important one being your visa and the duration you were stamped in for. Eg 6months stamp entitles you to a 6 month temporary ID.

@ greeneophyte pls check my posts for further info. I used JPS and despite all my plenty issues they performed way beyond expectation. @ JW I no be agent o! Na Govt (County Hospital).

Your international passport is your ID in a foreign country together with your drivers license if accepted.
So, for anyone to want to acquire a local ID he or she must be looking to enjoy a benefit. Let's not try to be cute with the facts . The question remains ; Why do you need the ID when your passport is available?

Not necessarily true, I had a state ID card (state of ohio). I couldn't be carrying my international passport around. So I was informed that it was ok for me to make an ID (just that it had d duration of my stay in my passport to expire) i used it to fly, enter grey hound, clubs and any other place an ID was required, Even d library. So it's not necessarily bcus u re looking to enjoy a benefit. It actually came in very handy and more convenient, not having to carry my green passport anywhere I went.

Did you actually get a United flight from Abuja? As far as I know they don't fly from Abuja, even tried when I was about traveling last month and was told they only fly from Lagos.
Unless maybe it's a new development?

. Yes Uniteda airline is affiliated with Lufthansa so you can book a flight with United from abj and they'll connect you to Lufthansa even thoughy you'll pay to United.

Good day all,

Please can anybody put me through on opening a bank account in US? I was told that i cant open an account but i think i have read where some people stated that they opened accounts. Please help.
You can try BoA. Go with your passport and drivers' licence. They'll open for you. Though the account attracts a monthly charge if you dont meet specific conditions

Good day people,

I have gone through some of the pages in this thread and the previous one. Please I would appreciate some experienced counsels.

My wife is currently in Dallas to give birth. She is 36 weeks. We couldn't secure PTA before she travelled. Now, we will love to use the form A to pay for her bills, but all the hospitals we've spoken to do not accept wire transfer (form A) for payment. Please I would really appreciate any advise on a Dallas hospital that will do form A. This is especially urgent as she is really advanced at 36 wks

Meanwhile, someone gave us an OB package for JPS hospital in Dallas which requires us to processs temporary Tarrant county ID for her. Has anyone used this before? Does this translate to using the US govt funding? I really want to be sure so we dont get to speak long grammer in the future.

Thanks for the good work here. It really is commendable.

My statement was based off the bolded sections of the Ops comments above. Of course I know you can get a state ID based on your duration of stay but this was an ID obtainable for a specific reason. My comments were based on that context . It's always a good idea to get the background story.

Ok. This is my opinion and not based on any Legal what what or any preccedence.
You can't afford to pay cos of pta. Someone offered you an 'obyn package' which I'm assuming you can now pay for cos its much moreeeeee cheaper. And you need an I'd card for the state you are residing in to have accesss to this cheap(er) option abi?
Ok. Most times these cheaper packages are subsidized by institutions and organizations owned and run by Americans and inteneded to help poor americans or the ones without insurance. So you are basically benefitting from the tax payers money.
To that extent I agree with a former poster, if u require a state I'd card to process this benefit, its more likely you will be eating from a cookie jar u shouldn't be. I mean , your nigerian passport is a valid I'd card, why can't you use it?
My opinion. As always
In addition: in thread 2 or 3 , somebody had issues at poe and was sent back (not very sure) cos she used a package similar to the one you posited. Can anybody else remember that story?

You re good to go. Its called a Temporary ID which is issued to you legally knowing your status and that's why you re given a 7 months validity.

Note- You will need a resident to stand-in for you with supporting documents that you reside in the stated address.

and they KEEP TO TIME O. I almost missed my flight to the UK with them b4. if not because i had my daughter who cried and pleaded- they would have said NO.

They ended up carrying us without our luggage.

Is the $250-$280 inclusive of shipping fee to and fro?
For the person that asked why people use agent for visa is mainly because they don't have enough time for example, I had just one week to process the visa, so I didn't want to take chances so I didn't think twice about using agent.
And again, someone complained of her application being abandoned after submission even after paying for expedited.
And again, the difference in price is not really so much. If it were to be up to $300 difference grin, I trust mamas here cos they
Must dig out ways to go about it.
Yes everything inclusive, your right the difference is not much @all.
